This makes lots of sense and I saw it happen for me...I went on Keto for two years because I developed type 2 diabetes. My A1C went down from a 7.8 to a 5.6 BUT my fasting insulin level went up! 😕. Then I cut down in my fat intake AND started incorporating complex carbs back into my diet: oatmeal, oat bran, root vegetables, legumes, brown rice, brown rice noodles/pasta, beans AND now my A1C went down to 5.2. So no, complex carbs are not the enemy! Thanks for this information 🙏 🍠🥝🥔🥦🍎🍌🥬🥭🥑🥗🍉🥕🍠

Thank you for saying “carbohydrates” and “glucose.” “Carbs” and “blood sugar” are not proper terms, like Cyrus said.

I found out there’s glucose in my urine and I
Decided to go keto without checking my Hba1c but after a month of keto I went to check my hba1c is 4.9 which means I’m not diabetic so I started incorporating complex carbs in my meals but my after meal glucose kept increasing I’m really confused because that means I’m still insulin resistance?

How would one know their blood sugar? Is it recommended to get one of the arm glucose monitors I’m seeing advertised everywhere? Seems one could drive yourself crazy watching the ups and downs throughout the day.

I eat ryebread and sprouted wheat bread. The trick is to add extra fibre to meals and use a hometrainer for 10 min after each meal.

Ugh yes Cyrus. I hate when people call food a varb or healthy fat or say i need a protein 😑. Let's get these terms right lol.

If we had the gut bacteria to break down fiber.....we would be cows....
      Almost one year full carnivore...
