  • The Moondrop Para had all the right makings to be a leader in the sub-$500 planar-magnetic headphone space. With 100mm drivers, swappable pads and cables, and Moondrop value, I was very excited going in to this review. In some cases, the excitement was justified, but what about everything else?

    I misspoke on the Sundara pads! They are just clipped on, so it is pretty easy to switch out. If anything that makes the Sundara an even easier pick. Thanks to @CammyFi for pointing this out! Check out his UA-cam channel if you're looking for more audio content. He reviews a bunch of stuff as well. Thanks CammyFi!

    The Sundara pads aren't glued on lol. They're clipped on. I don't think Hifiman has ever released a headphone without swappable earpads.

      Dude Cammy thanks so much for calling that out. I don’t know what made me think mine were glued but apparently I never pulled mine hard enough to pop the clip out. I’ll pin a comment. Thanks again

    Great review,you are already one of the best reviewers for audio gear. Thanks especially for talking about EQ options. Too many in the audiophile space ignore it entirely but not everyone wants to spend loads of money chasing different performance from headphones. Look forward to more reviews~

    Thank you for mentioning the bass distortion! I've been watching reviews for the Para ever since they originally dropped, and you're the only person who actually mentioned this. Just saved me a huge headache! And thank you for throwing in a comparison with the Ananda, the headphone I was considering buying the Para as a replacement for. Guess I'll need to keep searching, but at least I won't be searching by throwing money at the wrong thing!

    Great review, I hope you get your hands on the Verum 2's when they are available. It seems other reviewers have sworn off reviewing the previous version and well despite the controversy that occurs to me as bordering on non-consumer friendly/ gatekeeping on their end. The mid range price planar market is a hollowed out shell, soon enough someone somewhere will actually offer a good set, essentially a LCD 2 but for 500-1000 but that has just not happened yet (sadly), for me the Verum's were far and away the best set I ever did try in this bracket. They were also very light and were 32 ohm/ stupendously easy to drive.

    Hey I have a question, what is the biggest difference between for example a headphone like nova 7x and a sennheiser 560S? Which do you recomnend more when it comes to gaming and music? Which has the better audio quality?

    Hello I want to buy my first headphones with amp etc... Bu I have to make a choice between the Moondrop para and the sennheiser hd 600. Who is the best for a gaming usage ?

    • @pk.002
      @pk.002 2 місяці тому

      For strictly gaming usage, the Para. I simply did not find the HD 600 to be very good for that purpose. The soundstage is too narrow and the HD 600 doesn't image very well in games. I had none of those problems with the Para and you're getting a soundstage similar to the HD 800 S with the Para for a quarter of the price.

    • @vittoriojedi
      @vittoriojedi 3 місяці тому

      Don't get wireless things, there are always drawbacks on the sound.
      If you really have to, I suggest the Epos H3pro.
      The rest are too expensive for the audio quality they provide

    • @maybebutwhatever
      @maybebutwhatever 3 місяці тому

      You should really try them for yourself. For example there is a lot of praise for SteelSeries nova pro wireless but for me it's meh at best. I'd say buy something relatively cheap and which sound you can tolerate. For me it's hyperx wireless headphones and Fidelio x2hr when I don't need wireless.

    • @GadgetryTech
      @GadgetryTech  3 місяці тому

      I really wanted a shakeup in the sub $500 planar space. It's mostly dominated by Hifiman which isn't a horrible thing, but having other strong planar magnetic openbacks in the sub $500 range that looks good/is comfortable AND sounds good is a win for consumers. I'm glad Audeze and FiiO released some more options, but I was hoping with the value that Moondrop usually brings with IEMs, we would have something very compelling at their asking price.
