"Accept the things to which fate binds you, and love the people with whom fate brings you together, but do so with all your heart."
The two sides of my brain having a conversation 🥰
The ego and the super yo. Freud.
“Focus, routine and efficiency can add decades to your life.” (From Stoic Mosquito by A. A. Socrates)
Been a fan of Dr. Attia since his TED talk about obesity. Amazing crossover we didn't know we needed!
Amazing discussions about justice and hypocrisy!
Great episode! Thank you.
A crossover we ''don't deserve'', thanks guys!
Very much enjoyed this enlightening conversation. I've made the observation several times about how being born in the 70s (I was born 1972) until now is the easiest time ever to be alive in history, whenever I find myself complaining about the current state of the world I always ask myself what other time would have been better? I'm instantly transported to a new appreciaton and a new strong feeling of gratitude for how fortunate I am to be here now. With that mindset I can find so much more joy in its simplest form.
My morning routine: archery and barefoot hill sprints followed by a cold plunge and dry back scrub. The back scrub always happens. Sometimes I also do oil pulling and coffee enemas. Make sure your coffee is toxin and mold free. Also every weekend I do a 2 day vipassana meditation retreat.
Two people I really enjoy listening to and learning from. I'm glad you both did this long form discussion. Thank you
Love the chemistry between you guys. Intersection between philosophy, longevity and great conversation. Thank you!
Two of my favorite writers and podcasters! Amazing. Very excited.
Also, how did you guys not do this in person? Don't you live right near each other?
Two of my favorite people.
Powerful episode, watched a lot of Peters interviews, also read his book. This one is great, very beneficial for any younger folks or newer parents to watch. Thanks for the sharing!
loving this interview!
Thanks for the Good Inside recommendation! Ordered.
38:45 bookmark for myself. Excellent stuff.
Now it's all about routine exactly the more I work on that than the more everything else will take care of itself
weird edit error at the end,it replays a section
Ryan and Dr. Peterson has helped me has some sense of my life. Very grateful.
Hey Ryan, i throughly enjoyed this podcast, but the end part starting st around 1:55 got repeated, hope it gets fixed for other viewers. Thanks
Right
You should have had Kevin R on the show too
Dr. Attia's insights on Stoicism and longevity are fascinating! 🌟 How do you think these philosophies can practically improve our daily lives? Keen to hear your thoughts!
Where are the time stamps?
What is a RUCK?
Walking while carrying weight, in a backpack or weight vest, or just plain carrying it in your hands.
Go for a ruck? Rock? Walk?
This video is about how to organize your privilege
These guys came from nothing and made their privilege. You can too.
@@FellowHuman18 well maybe they could lead with that.
One of dumbest comments I’ve seen regarding these two individuals.
Is bow and arrow hunting cruel?
Even when carried out by a competent marksman, it does not result in a rapid and humane death. When an animal is fatally shot with a bow, it can take several minutes for them to die; they will suffer severe pain over this period due to the trauma and damage to tissue and organs caused by an arrow entering the body.
Some are deeply opposed to bow hunting in particular, on the grounds of cruelty. The organization People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals states that "quick kills are rare, and many animals suffer prolonged, painful deaths when hunters severely injure but fail to kill them."
Since you bring the subject up, I'm interested in your opinion...Is nature cruel?
How does it make you feel watching a video of say a cheetah hunting and taking down a gazelle? Although death is fairly quick, that too can take several minutes.
Too many commercials
That was a very funny joke ,Realy Not p.c.😂
This vid felt a little pretentious. The dilemmas of bow hunting and book writing, who relates to this?
This guy either doesn't know what he is talking about or gets paid to lie. He only presents as knowledgeable, but ultimately mostly makes false claims that are absolutely not backed up by the literature. Do not take him seriously.
