Pretty amazing the amount of games you were able to snag. Lots of fun watching the process. How you only have 22,000 subscribers is one of life's great mysteries. Good stuff!
My brother was out deer hunting yesterday, and found a pile of NES games and controllers that someone threw out in the woods. He gave them to me because I like retro games. Most of them are missing the labels, so it's a mystery as to what they are. It's possible they may work when I clean them and test them, because I watched a video where someone froze a cartridge in ice, and it still played after unfreezing it. Collectors talk about going "game hunting" and finding games "in the wild", but in this case, it's literally true.
Awesome stuff Matt! I really like your tactic of setting a budget and knocking out some of the low dollar filler games on the PS2. At the next convention you attend, look out for a PS2 game titled Sky Odyssey. It usually goes for $7-$9 max, but you can probably get it for $5 at a convention. It's a bargain masterpiece that involves completing challenges with different aircrafts! 😎
You would be surprised what $5 can get you in the PS2 library and it can be some fun games to enjoy. Most people think sport titles are $5 or less but there're other types of genres you can find for $5.
For a while I just track the games I have so I don't buy doubles. Much later in the journey I get a list of what I need. But for either I use the app Gameye
Did you find any GameCube games at Retro Rick’s Retro Fest? I know this is a PS2 game hunting video. You’re finding games for other console platforms more often than GC now.
The short answer is I just don't have the time right now to keep it going. It is a very time consuming channel to maintain and I have to focus on this channel as a priority. VHS Voyage may make a comeback in the future
So the problem is since I am down to 22 games left, believe it or not there was not a single CIB game at the convention that I needed for the collection that wasn't well above my budget. But don't worry! More GameCube purchases to come in the near future!
Yep and it is very possible to do that at a convention. I've done something similar in the past. I pivoted my goal in the video after the intro to say let's see how many games I can get with $200
RetroFest Arkansas looked fun from all the videos I’ve seen. That’s a fun challenge for your PS2 competition goal. Cool vid, dude. BTW, check your email: I sent a message about a collab a couple weeks ago. I appreciate ya! See ya in the next one!

Thank you I appreciate that! I think we might hit 23K by the end of the year and my 2025 goal is 35K

Make a video. Let's see!
Thats WILD! Update us when you find out what the games are. I am super curious
I saw Raiden III on one of those tables! My friend and I are literally playing through that game each time we get together.
Great game!
I still want that extra $5!
Hahahaha
The complete PS2 collection will have to have its own room 😂
Hahaha definitely!
It’s always fun doing a challenge like this and super cool to watch too Matt! Good stuff dude. 🤙🏻
Appreciate it Josh!!
"None of the other games were notable" well yeah that's why they were in the $5 b1g1 bin brother! #OGShop. Great helping you dude!

How do you keep track of what you have an need
For a while I just track the games I have so I don't buy doubles. Much later in the journey I get a list of what I need. But for either I use the app Gameye
Would be interesting to do a comparison between game cube and PS2 and see which you prefer for some of the games that are on both libraries
That could be a cool thing to do in the future for sure!
Great video
Thanks!

Yeah because I only have 22 games left. So there are going to be multiple videos where I don't find GameCube games.
Love watching your videos and lots of fun watching you complete your PS2 game collection.
I appreciate it!!
What happened to vhs voyage?

I sense a clickbait-worthy continuity error 🤣
Just remember Ps2 is #1
It's definitely a great console!
Physical media forever
🙌
would've got a gamecube game with that 200$

So you started with a budget of $200 to get 100 games , that means you had to pay an average of $2 a game or less 😂
Yep and it is very possible to do that at a convention. I've done something similar in the past. I pivoted my goal in the video after the intro to say let's see how many games I can get with $200
