What I can't get over is the actual acting that she's doing. All of the dramatic pauses, pre-planned inflections, fake turning off the camera, the attempt at manufactured sincerity is unhinged and makes it feel like a parody. You can take the kid out of the theater but you can't take the theater out of the kid, apparently.
Also as a fellow winter, a bright, cool-toned lip is a certified universal seasonal slay moment, it's literally science.

I'm so very sick of the whole "I made a mistake, what like you never made a mistake in your life" line gets pulled in these just super shitty apologies when people get held accountable for some truly heinous actions/behavior.
Black-face, anti-Blackness, transphobia, homophobia, antisemitism, other forms of racism, grooming minors in any way, relationships that take advantage of uneven power dynamics, inappropriate relationships with minors, using racial/ethnic slurs, and other such things along these lines are not mistakes.
And yet, time and again with certain types of content creators who have done these things they will call it a mistake.
Like yes it can be understandable if certain stuff was normalized to you because of the household you grew up, but then you grow and learn that it is not okay and for certain other things that is where therapy helps to unpack that unhealthy normalization of these things.
But again these things are not mistakes. Because people make mistakes all the time and most people don't make a big deal about it and don't make a big deal about apologizing for it.(Unless they are asshole)
I'm just so sick of the Colleens, the Shanes, the Charleses, etc excusing their down right horrific, traumatizing, and damaging behavior as mistakes as well as conflating what they have with the term mistake.
Because even big mistakes will never be on the same level as what they have done. Mistake is usually associated with accident and you don't accidentally do the atrocious things they have done especially since they have done it a plethora of times.
Also Colleen can talk about her intent all day, but impact matters way more as well as so much of what she did involved manipulation. You can't really unintentionally do the kind of manipulation she did, on the level she did and to depth she went to. It is just not possible with that type and style manipulation.
It is a very purposeful method. Grooming and gaslighting are both examples of manipulation styles that are very purposeful, methodical styles that involve a certain of amount intent and awareness from person employing it.
So no you can't by mistake groom a bunch of people.
This past year of youtuber drama has been absolutely bonkers between Blair and Colleen. My heart goes out to all the victims of their behavior, but I'm glad their own equal amounts of blatant self-centeredness has led ultimately to the same conclusion: more attention on the accusations.

In a previous job I worked with formerly incarcerated adults, and while Colleen's insistence that "past mistakes" don't define who you are now is certainly true, she's weaponizing it. There has to be accountability for past wrongs, and they have to truly be PAST wrongs, not something you were doing 2 weeks ago but have now stopped because someone got mad at you and you're not actually sorry.
She's completely ignoring the harm she's done to these children by saying "I wasn't TRYING to hurt anyone, I'm just weird!" If you accidentally run someone over with your car, you've still run them over with your car. The intent doesn't negate the harm caused.
