I subscribed because I realised my favourite snake food and substrate supplier has a UA-cam channel! 😄😬🤘

Thank you

Thank you 👏🏻 for showing/encouraging people to give their snake an enclosure that isn’t bare. You showed how simple and easy it is to make something stunning.
My only criticism is that you didn’t mention a thermostat which I hope you mention in future just for safety precautions.
Keep up the great videos!
Alpha Delle thank you so much! Yes good point I was thinking about that and didn’t get around to mentioning it. A temperature controller is recommended for a heat pad to maintain the correct temperature🙏🏻😊
I feel like this set up would be useless for most pythons within 6 months. Just for the fact how big some of them can get.
@@yungoozie4271 Ball python only get around 6 ft this would be too small for that size but is ok to start out with for a a baby one they take about 3 years to reach full adult size

I'm saving up to buy all of these things to get a ball python. I'm definitely getting them from you guys😭
Just wanted to mention here that Spider or Killer Bee morphs aren't good. Most of the time they have a head wobble which is not natural and Spiders get neurological problems.
I heard that to but my spider did good I have a bumblebee spider. Female did Abraham with a banana boy in. They came out really good nothing wrong with them
Please do more this is helping me alot
Hello what Enclosure Size you recommend for an adult Pueblan Milk Snake?
Thks for sharing mate!
So can you use this enclosure size for like baby snakes aswell
Hi, there.
I wanna buy an enclosure of 60x45x90 cm, is this ok?
hi, thanks for the video! question, where did you get your cage?
Animal plastics is way better. PVC and very sturdy. You can choose between white or black, glass sliding doors or plexiglass swing doors. I paid like $250 for 4 foot long by 2 feet deep by 1 foot tall with sliding glass doors with a key lock for the glass doors. Height isn’t necessary for ball pythons.
I've heard such mixed ideas on heating needs for a ball python. They say heat mats are dangerous and to use overhead heating. My breeder said to use a mat..I just want to do it right. Could I use a basking lamp in the day and ceramic at night or just use a mat?
I'm gonna be a getting a ball python soon, hopefully want to try and get the lil guy here for February! Gonna check out more of your channel. Thank you for the tips, gonna definitely help for when I bring my baby boy home :)
Don't put the heat pad inside the enclosure like in the video they are meant to go under a glass enclosure.
@@John52416 Ty!!
@@lesbianshrimp_ you're welcome another option is a heat rock. I've always used the heat rocks for my ball pythons.
@@John52416 heat rocks are horrible don’t use them i don’t know why they still sell them
It it possible to get a heat pad that you can set to stay at a certain temperature so if it goes above the max temp it switches of automatically
You need a temperature controller you can buy 1 at the ultimate exotics website for 220 rand
is it not best practice to put the heat pad under the bottom of the cage or between something to avoid the possibility of the snake burning itself ?
Hi Karl. That is a good point, the heat pad we using in this video is a 9watt heat pad that only reaches around 34 degrees Celsius but there are warmer heat pads out there and that would then be a good idea to do. An even better option which is a bit more costly is to attached it to a temperature controller which will automatically turn the heat pad off when it reaches a certain temperature.
@@UltimateExoticsReptiles ah ok. the reason i ask is that i have had one of these foil pads go faulty where they have actually melted the paint on the table that it was on
@@karlthemountaingoat7386 that is scary, that sounds like a faulty pad. That is why it is so important that the snake can get away from the pad in it's enclosure.
@@UltimateExoticsReptiles thank you for the replies ! Very informative
Hi, if you have a glass viv you should put it under, however, if you have a wooden viv they make glass heat mat holders (vivexotic make a really good one that fits exo terra heat mats) that prevent the heat harming the wood and snake. I would always recommend a thermostat though, a standard on/off thermostat can be very cheap and can potentially save your animal's scales :)
Does anyone know where to buy a cheap stimson python down at nsw?
I have a question.
Can I use this guide to set up for a brown house snake?
Hi! I have a quick question, should you change the heating mat temperature depending on the season? Turning it down during warm seasons and up in cold seasons?
Hi there :) Good question! You only need to turn the temperatures down during the cold season if you are trying to cycle them for breeding. If you not planning on breeding then you don't need to turn the temperatures down at all :)
Ultimate Exotics Reptiles thank you!
Get a thermostat as well as the thermometer. Keep it at the temperature it needs. Not to hot, not to cold. And definitely dont put the heat pad in the enclosure, put it underneath. I highly recommend you go to this link www.goherping.com/ballpythons
Warm end should stay same temperature. So for you if that means you need to lower it then yes, but if you find it doesn’t really change then no
Hey! Where did you get the plant that you put into the enclosure? I can't find it on your online store
U can find fake plants everywhere
Snake doesn’t need a fucking plant ya twat
Someone PLEASE tell me where I can get that water dish. I need it for my ball Python she loves to kick her moss and substrate into the bowl and makes it so much harder to clean it
Hi I know this is a old video but when I'm buying a new ball python from you guys what food should I get
Frozen thawed rats that are as big as the largest part of the snake’s body. They can also have quail chicks and chicken chicks.
Can you use under tank heat pads with this setup???
Hi there, you will need to place the heat pad inside the enclosure the wood at the bottom of the cage is too thick and the heat will not transfer through it, thanks.
I love it
Thanks Katie : )
Ultimate Exotics Reptiles your welcome
Hi I've just watched a couple of other vids and they all say never put the heatmat in with the snake it goes underneath, but how can you do that with a wooden snake home 🤔🤔👍
Simple: don’t use a heat mat, they’re not a good heat source anyway. A halogen flood bulb connected to a dimmer/dimming thermostat is the most natural and beneficial option. They produce IRA and IRB like the sun, heat that penetrates deep into the skin tissue and heats them far more effectively than heat mats. Whereas heat mats only produce IRC, which only heats the surface of their skin.
How do connect up the thermometer
What size cage did you guys use?
Hi Brett, this cage is 60cm x 40cm x 40cm, thanks :)
Is adding the heat mat in a wooden vivarium okay cause people are saying to put it under but im not sure how that would work with a wooden viv?
Put it UNDER the snake could die if it gets over heated, or there can be burn Marks on snake😀👌
Jesse Johnson he cant put it under the wood is too thick
Glass tank = heating mat goes under.
Wood tank = Heating mat goes inside but under a piece of glass/tile.
okay so I was looking on the web and I found a kit, it comes with a 10 gallon tank, screen lid with lock, 8-watt heating Matt, thermometer/ Hyrgometer combo, hide decor, and a soaking dish. Would this work out?
Hi there, yes that sounds good! That will work :)
Ultimate Exotics Reptiles Sorry for asking so many questions but when I get the kit, can the heating Matt sit on a plastic surface?
Also should I not buy a ball python from petsmart, I see a lot of videos saying not to?
@@itzsweatz4298 buy small rubber feet for the heating mat to keep it off the plastic, or it could burn through
komorebin the tank came with it, all good :)
Would you recommend me a wood terrarium or a glass terrarium (exo terra’s alike)??? And why?? :(
A wood terrarium are cheaper and more enclosed and a glass terrarium are more expensive and the glass terrarium isn't enclosed and the humidity is a issue
What i use is plastic tub because they are cheaper and they keep the humidity in and are normally opaque so the snake

Hi can you do a video on how to set up cool side and hot side for corn and ribbon snakes baby and adult please?
Keep in mind that ribbon snakes are often wild caught, make sure you get them from a reputable source. For the warm side for corn snakes: use a halogen flood bulb connected to a dimmer or dimming thermostat and a T5 tube UVB bulb (either an Arcadia shadedweller or 6% bulb, or zoo med 5.0 bulb). The basking spot should get to 85-90 (measured by a temperature gun), and should be 7-9” from the UVB. Slate or slate tile is good for the basking spot. Make sure they have a warm hide as well. I’d also obscure the basking spot with decor such as fake plants so the snake doesn’t feel exposed while basking. Provide cryptic basking opportunities as well (exposing part of their body while staying hidden). The same goes for ribbon snakes.
You should sell adapters because not everyone has a South African plug 🔌 I can’t find the right one to go to South African to U.S without burning my circuits
That is a good idea, we will look into this, thanks
hello, nice informative video. what r the dimensions of the enclosure ?
Adult ball pythons need a 4x2x2’ enclosure or larger.
Is it necessary to have a light in the enclosure
Yes. They need light during the day for a day/night cycle. For heat, a halogen flood bulb connected to a dimmer/dimming thermostat is the most natural and beneficial option during the day, Arcadia’s deep heat projector is the second best option. They produce infrared A and B like the sun, heat that penetrates deep into the skin tissue and heats them far more effectively than heat mats. Whereas heat mats only produce IRC, which only heats the surface of their skin. Linear UVB is also very beneficial for them.
never put belly heat in wooden viv always use ceramicc heat emitter and always use a thermostat for any heat element not just a thermometer
Tom Beckinsale they’re not natural baskers idiot they like to stay hidden while retaining heat and the heat emitter wouldn’t even affect the snake if they’re in their hides and ball pythons are shy so most of the time ball pythons are in their hides
Zedonis - no che s are the best for tanks. Balls are large bodied snakes this can cause thermal blocking on heat mats and cause the snake to get burned
Wth never do that to snakes they can climb and touch and burn themselves..they aren’t baskers either
@@hsoulc5927 never do what?

Do they need uv lights? Thanks
Hi there, no they do not need any special UV lighting :)
Ultimate Exotics Reptiles thanks a lot :)
Yes that do as we need day light
No lights are bad for ball pythons they don’t need them nor want them
Well they don't need need it necessarily but it improves their overall health, so it may not be needed but it can help.
So why isn't a thermostat being used with the heat pad. We always recommend one. 1.for fire safety if it over heats to shut down. 2. Prevents the bottom side of the snake from getting burns.etc
Hi Tony, thank you for your comment, I agree. We need to do an updated video mentioning this, thanks!

Heat pads should go under the enclosure not inside if that isn't possible a heat rock would be a better option.
Heat rocks are not a safe heat source, they have a tendency to overheat and burn/cook reptiles. Heat mats aren’t a good heat source either, overhead heating is best. A halogen flood bulb connected to a dimmer/dimming thermostat is the most natural and beneficial option during the day, Arcadia’s deep heat projector is the second best option. HI
RamTam Gamer Hi😊
There is no Thermostat on the heat mat
Ball pythons are basking snakes so they need a heat bulb not a matt? And you don't want the tank humid with that substrate
Yes they do need a basking spot, but a lot of people think that means using heat rocks (you should never use that for a BP). Ideally a heat lamp will work fairly well when they come out to bask (which is only at certain times of the day and not for long periods of time - usually early morning/late afternoon). Heating pads are easier to use for beginners, especially since most wooden vivs are not setup for attaching heat lamps + bulb guards. A glass viv is normally the best bet for a heat lamp since most have a top section where one could be fitted.
As for humidity, peat moss is a really good humidity regulator and since it dries out it will not create excessive humid conditions (provided you don't use too much). It is also a good idea to use the moss to raise the humidity when they are shedding.
they don’t bask they are nocturnal

@@UltimateExoticsReptiles ok
I thought heatpad inside the enclosure is a huge no no?! the snake can come into direct contact with it D;
Heat mats aren’t a good heat source, overhead heating is much better for them. A halogen flood bulb connected to a dimmer or dimming thermostat is the most natural and beneficial primary daytime heat source. A ceramic heat emitter, deep heat projector, or radiant heat panel can be used for nighttime heat.

not trying to be rude but Yes as I was watching the video I did notice # mistakes made (at least from everything I have read and look up. as mention by other people that commented. I did also see that the foil heater was on the inside of the enclosure (should be under the enclosure) outside of it)to stop the snake from burning itself . #2 Not running a thermostat for temperature control ( to make sure snake doesn't overheat and warm side of enclosure stays within range). #3 is there is no hide for the cool side of tank for the snake to go in. (helps with making the snake feel more secure and safe). You do have a nice enclose though and a beautiful snake. !
Hi Jason, thank you for your feedback. Yes I agree it will be the best option to add a temperature controller to your heat pad in order to ensure it does not get too hot. We did have a naturalistic hide on the cooler end under the plant for the snake to go into :) Thanks man, all the best!
#1 Heat pads cannot go UNDER a wooden vivarium - they go inside and under a piece of glass/tile.
#2 You do not need a temperature controller, although it is highly recommended, if you pay attention to the temperatures in the tank. I have 3 thermometers in my tanks as well as temperature controllers just incase the controllers become faulty.
