I don't know why, but the fact that your character's view follows the reload process and the background blurs in the process makes it feel so tense, and I love it.
As a proud cap and ball revolver owner, i can tell you that the recoil isnt that bad as depicted in game. Even shooting 220 grain conicals, the recoil isnt that bad. Unless you were shooting triple 7 powder or like a 50 grain charge, the recoil will feel like a 380 or a light 38 special. The amount of recoil depicted in game looks like a 357 magnum going off.
I’m guessing it’s due to the slower burning nature of black powder as opposed to smokeless powder. The latter is a literal flash in the pan which could contribute to snappier felt recoil depending on how much powder was in the casing. I’m not a black powder revolver owner, but I do think that black powder can feel like a mild push from what I have heard.
I fire my cap and ball with black powder, while the recoil is much less than a modern gun while 2 handed if you fire with your arm outstretched and single handed as they did then it can be quite a jolt. I believe it has to do with shooting experience, way you’re holding it, and strength. You don’t want to fire a cap and ball with smokeless powder.
@@thelradame5508 also you need to remember that cap and ball revolvers have longer barrels (at least most of them) so they're heavier and as we know weight tends to dampen the recoil.
@@ethankaryadi37 yeah that’s pretty much it, along with how heavy those revolver’s are, being made of steel and wood with around a 7.5” barrel. Funny enough however is that many cavalry troops preferred the smaller .36 caliber revolvers rather than the full .44’s because they recoiled less (despite blackpowder barely recoiling anyway)

220 grains is insane, the walker held 60

I like the detail of having to smack the butt against the turf when reloading at a kneel.

This must of taken a while to get the clips together. Good video
I feel like you should have done this at the range, but also wonder why they made the range so far away from camp spawn.
I just noticed the guy who made this accidentally called the Lorenz rifle a Pattern 1853 Enfield
