Thanks for this, I'm about to do this job in a couple of weeks on my 99 once my parts come in from Bavarian auto sport. You're right about gaskets being a pain to get to and being patient with this . Replaced a head gasket on my 2000 civic a few years back it took about 5 hours total with 3 people working on it.
that rubber thing you found on top of the valley pan is actually the engine cover "o-ring". If you look under the engine cover, you will see the pins and that rubber thing. Im pretty sure it just provides space
Watched your video several times, very helpful thankyou. i have a question, theres a small bearing that came with the 4 intake gaskets and i have no idea where it goes.
At the beginning of the video you said that you change something and now runs better, what was the part you change. And Why is that you are replacing the gasket
Nice video ,could you tell me what those two Hoses with the yellow clip at the back of the crack case are connected to or could be trace back too. My hoses aren't connected to the crack case and its difficult trying to find out what hoses or where the hoses are. I'm debating on taking off the whole intake manifold looking for these hose.
After you removed the intake there was a rubber grommet laying on top of the valley pan gasket. you made a comment that you werent sure where it went. i have the same situation. Where does it go?
Noel, it was the CCV (crank case ventilation) valve on the rear of intake. Made a big difference.

Alex Alves it has been a few years so I'm not certain but I am pretty sure I never found where it went.
At least clean the intake manifold while it's off!
Dude! how about u stop talking and start showing it step by step.
The guy is quite rough with the engine parts and disrespectful to the car as well...
