My interest in ants changed my life while I was at work; I found my first solenopsis queen at my jobs yard, this make me realize that there is much more in life than just work; Now, I take periodically walks, I explore new areas and appreciate nature much more, helping me forget the daily responsibilities of life and be curious by even the smallest living creature.
My interest in ants has actually helped me get a position in a university entomology lab that specializes in ants! After all the time I've spent researching and keeping ants, turns out that I was able to use that to help my academic career! It's encouraged me greatly in academics as well as helped me deal with stress and anxiety by exploring the beauty of nature and just enjoying the wonderful world that we all live in.
I know it's kind of randomly asking but do anybody know of a good website to stream newly released series online ?
I am extremely jealous of you
What university?
@@rogelioalonso5618netflix idk
Ants affected my life alot i told one of my friends all about ants, one day he told a school teacher about me and i got a job here , so now i teach about ants
cool
By keeping and learning about ants I've decided to switch degrees and pursue Environmental Wildlife and Conservation in an effort to learn more about ants in the wild and their contribution to a healthy ecosystem. It keeps me distracted and healthy because Im out almost every weekend hiking with a backpack full of test tubes!
Aaron wish I could do that, Good for you!
Hope they stay around long enough so you can work your whole life in that field :(
edition.cnn.com/2017/10/19/europe/insect-decline-germany/index.html
i think ants were about staggering 90% :((
to add to this they were talking about animals up the foodchain.
I read that singing bird populations have declined across the board around 25 to up to 50%.
Vizzeable well damn!
sorry i missphrased that one thx
its 90% of native ant species are on the decline in general not the amount

Wow, you have a LOT more ants than I thought
that's what I thought
you are right
When they open their jaws it looks like they lock in place like a crossbow.
Exactly what I was thinking! Or a mouse trap
They do and when they feel a touch they bite it
They do actually lock in place through an internal mechanism. Exactly like a bear _trap._
Keeping ants has made me appreciate nature and has made me walk outside alot more. I now walk outside with test tubes to catch queens. Ant love forever.
ant LOVE FOREVER
My interest in ants has made me become more interested in nature in general.
Ants have impacted my life by me now having a lot less tine over the weekends because I have to feed and clean my colonies! :-)
I also just like to watch them and they can make a stressful day a lot better. Overall they have helped to increase my happiness even when I do have to worry about them now and again.
Ants have also inspired me to consider pursuing a degree in Myrmecology later on, something I NEVER would have considered without learning everything I now know about them!
This is my favorite ant channel
@Louis ian Lee he's too cringy
@@ekletters2010 he aint cringy bro, he just wants to make it interesting, this channel i also watch though
Yo why is this comment getting so many replies now two years later...
Thats tru prob because its nuptial flight season so most people need ant tutorials and btw aunt Australia is more straightforward and helpful while ants canada is for story time they are both great
Who likes ants smh
Because of ants I have become more responsible as a person and it has caused me to drop my video games obsession and go outside often. Because of them I want to become an entomologist. The aspect of creatures living together in one enormous family like a human but in perfect sync is one of the most interesting things I have ever seen
Thats me aswell
Victorian Ants me too I want to make n.s.w ants
Yeah
I've found ant keeping has affected me in two ways, it's allowed me to pursue my interest in nature and wildlife when my family is against most pets, especially insects. Convincing them to keep one little ant queen was easy! Altough I will be interested to see how they feel when the colony grows. Its also made me far more aware of all the smaller parts of ecosystems and life. I now keep finding myself spotting fascinating ant species, and even tracing them back to their colonies I would have never found or cared about before. They are fascinating creatures and have been so glad to start keeping them!!!
I WANT TO SEE DRACULA ANTS!!!!
Okay type on net Dracula ants and see them😁
Lol
me too! look like small driver ants? O_O
Same
I keep Ants same
Cricket: literally being eaten alive
Narrator: continues talking about jaws getting in the way
I may only be in high school, but ants have changed my life so much. I have found that after I had started keeping my first ants, I was able to much more easily understand the needs of many creatures, and my mind was opened to looking after the personalities of each individual insect, and not just insects as a whole. Also, as much as I love bingeing on Ants Australia all day, Ant keeping is a real hobby that keeps me occupied in a meaningful way. Not just sitting at my desk all day.
Well, ants have really helped my social life. I did not really know a lot of people going into a new school after moving, and ants helped me relate to other kids. Now I have a lot more friends and feel better. Ants make me happy and keep me motivated to go outdoors and I often look for hours. It helped me exercise more and helped my self-esteem. I don't have a colony yet, just one queen without any eggs. I never would have thought that a creature so small could have such a big affect on someone's life. Ants just helped me with everything.
Amazing video, awesome representation of their ability to ‘teleport’ at 4:53 😨
Hi ant invasion I really like your videos but they are very short could you plz do a series where you show an ant colony for about 5-10 minutes each I would also love if you subscribed here as you were one of the peeps who got me into the hobby
Ant Invasion hi ant invasion I just saw your channel and I hqve to say you are amazing!and I think we are in the same age too!
Andrea Surace hi so you are also newto thehobby? Do you have instagram where we can talk?😃
No I don’t have Insta and I have been keeping ants for 1 year but I was reasearching the hobby for two years
Finally!!
It is incredible that the jaws can be used as a flight technique, but from another thought, is it possible that the ant was just attacking the pen/stick you were holding? The flight technique was just a coincidence from the smooth surface?
They frequently encounter ant lions in the wild. This technique helps them escape the ant lion pits
This technique also helps then escape other small ants, if they grab into the trap jaw ant by every side, it can fling itself away causing the ants to dismantle their grin on it
My interest in ants has given me so much since I began watching documentaries about them when I was only eight years old. It taught me to be patient and altruistic, and it has given me the chance to learn to respect and care for the planet earth’s envirnment and well being, but it also taught me about the ruthless side of nature. Overall, I believe ants have helped shape me into a better person and even now, eight years later, I still love to watch and keep them as pets! Love from Portugal!! :)
Ants have impacted my life a lot. Going to school isn’t to bad, but it is a long, hard and slow process. But when I know that I can come home to my ants and watch and help them grow it gets me through the day. Cause I always have something to look forward to, and before i didn’t.
Cool! I haven't seen that before!
There is alot of them in the Philippines. I got stinged few times as a kid
By learning about ants, I have changed my outlook on them since, seeing them as beautifully amazing creatures rather than a stupid pest in my house. I have since changed to recognize every creature of nature, and know they are there for good reason. For example, I still fear and don’t like wasps, but, I know they are great prey to some of of favorite animals, which eat them and help them survive.
Ant keeping has impacted my life hugely. I have been dealing with a depression for the past year now due to a diagnosis of type 1 diabetes and bullying at school. I decided to take up ant keeping because I used to do a lot of ant keeping when I was younger, and to keep my mind off diabetes.
My interest in ants has impacted the way i think about them because I used to think they were annoying but they are actually very interesting.
By keeping ants and doing research about them, ants and other insects have become less disturbing for me. I also come more into contact with nature, because I'm catching queen ants once they fly out. When I was young, I always used to kill ants. But now, i take care of my own colonies and I started loving every ant species in the world. I also do research. I do that on UA-cam (Ants Australia and AntsCanada), Google and my own observations.
beautiful shot, great ants

before getting in to ants didn't think bugs could really do much. but after seeing them more i've realized they pretty smart how to separate their waste and how they share food. it makes them seem a lot more human. and now i see this more and more in animals
My interest in ants has impacted my life in many different ways, the main ones being:
1. that i no longer have any space in my bedroom for anything else to fit.
2. that most of my spare time is spent researching and studying the different ant species that i keep and are in my area.
3. that i can feed house pests like flies to my ants.
&
4. No more fly spray!!!
Hello early today

while this would obviously increase the size of his following, it would decrease the quality of his work.

Nice video, best one so far.
Your videos are like short documentaries.
You keep progressing in every upload good job Jordan.
Ant keeping has not only improved my life overall, but has also further broadened my love for all sorts of animals as i learn about the impact that ants have on both animal and plant life. ant keeping has improved my personal development by allowing myself to take responsibility by feeding the ants and cleaning their outworlds as well as exposing me to an amazing community of ant keepers on the various ant keeping facebook pages that allow me to interact and engage with fellow ant keepers about the growing hobby in Australia and the rest of the world. Ant keeping also acts as an escape from reality for me as i am currently a high school student in year 12 and i can go through a few rough times with the heavy loads of studying involved, yet when i watch the ants in m outworld it puts me at ease watching each ant working their own job. Ant keeping is truley the best hobby i have come across and cannot wait to dive further into the amazing world that is ant keeping.
pls talk about meat ants
the interest in ants has impacted life by making me care more about animal and actually see all insect in a different which i find really cool
My interest in "creepy crawlies" started when I was young and I have always been fascinated by them. The biggest impact on my life is that I passed that love to my child and it is something that we bond over.
i've been watching your videos recently and ive noticed you sound a lot happier/sure of yourself in these more recent videos, i dont know you personally but it makes me happy to hear that growth and excitement in your voice!!! keep up the great work
I have problems with panic attacks and depression, and the one thing that helps me more then my mountain of pills is feeding my ants and watching there cheer joy and appreciation, I love watching them quickly racing back to there mother and queen and almost fighting each other for the right to feed there mother. I can watch them for hours. My ants are one of the best things that happened and impacted my life in such a great way!
Ant keeping has impacted me in a calm manner by helping me relieve stress when watching them and now when ever I see a ant I be sure to get a good 10 second look at them to learn more.
My interest in ants has impacted my life in that it made me more aware of how delicate and perfectly balanced the nature you are trying to emulate is, and how complex natural structures are.
I have made two friends who love your channel becouse of ants and I never knew that there were so many species of ants that's how ants have impacted my life
It’s impacted me because I have become more aware of the environment, especially the world of small insects. Ants have not only made me more interested about them, but also more interested in insects in general.
My interest in ants impacted my life by making me go outside more and becoming more active, I used to stay indoors playing video games all day, but since I discovered ant keeping I am always studying and observing ants and other insects
Ant videos and such of your type of content have impacted me in a very special way. It started to me when I first realized the diversity of nature, and how much ants were. Growing up as a middle school kid, I realized the impressive styles and it helped me keep a better lifestyle rather than just playing games and doing homework all day. Now I have a reason to feel more free and helpful with my decisions so I could go out and be fresh in my days.
It has impacted my life by learning how interesting ants are and trying to give a positive description to people who don't like ants.
Answer:I go outside way more when i see an ant i pick it up and look at it i started keeping them and i love the fact that when im exploring i can always just find a new species and i also made some new friends.AntLOVE forever.
I'm in love with this video! It's SOOOOOO perfect!! Congrats!
When i started keeping ants 🐜 it gave me a wider view of the world around me and helped me improve myself by not wasting my spare time and gave me something to study and love
I've once had a fear of ants. Once I started watching your videos, it slowly gave me confidence against ants. Now I have over 5 colony's of ants. Thanks so much Jordan! Ants really had a huge impact on my life.
Keeping ants has impacted me as a person because I used to think they were pests, but now they are my favourite creature. It has also turned me to learn about other insects such as termites, springtails, crickets and so much more!
The reason ants have impacted my life is that they have enabled me to not only look at species of insects the same way but also now arachnids ( I had a major phobia of them) . Because in eco-systems they all depend on each and every individual species in order to survive. always liked other animals like reptiles, mammals, amphibians, birds and much more. But now I spend a lot of my time learning about ants. And all the other creatures that often go unnoticed. I have even just recently started my own ant colony! So I am glad that I have been able to change my view on these little guys as well as other creatures.
my interest in ants has changed from what i knew about them before and now has changed so much. in the summer i go outside for more than an hour a day just watching how they move and interact. ants have made me do lots of more outdoor activity's like going hiking to look for queens and look at how the ants make progress over the coarse of a while.
Ant keeping hasn't just changed my life, ant keeping has become my life, my passion, my sun..... Most people say ants are just bugs but they are so much more....
Discovering ants has helped get me out and active again after struggling with depression. not only that, but they've helped show that not only fluffy and cuddly pets help with mental health, I now recommend ants and other invertebrate to people who feel stressed anxious or lonely, but can't afford to get a dog or cat! So far it's worked every time!
It has changed my life, ants entered my dreams shortly after entering my life, It’s changed the way I see the world around me, oriented me towards the diversity in this world opened me to a whole new side of life and it’s shaping the way I see my future, I now want to word with theses animals and share their amazing adaptation with others by showing them first hand what theses animals are capable off
My interest for ants has made me and my girlfriend have a new hobby! Raising ants and observing them grow/work is one of the greatest experiences one can have!
Ants have changed my life in many ways, the best one being introduced into this wonderful secret community of Ant-Lovers! I have learned so much. 💕
You deserve much more subscribers. This is my favorite ant channel!
By learning about ants I appreciate what they in our ecosystem I love watching work
Since starting to keep ants and learn more about them, it has brought me back to my nature loving roots. Just by taking a few minutes out of my day and enjoying the world around me.
Beautiful video, loved it
Ants have affected my life in that they have led me down a path of exploring new things and learning more, the ant keeping hobby has also helped me build a stronger bond with my freinds when we interact about ants and share our colonies and other ant related things.
This is such a great video!!! You’re such an inspiration for me to start a collection of my own soon 🙌🏾
Ants have had a great impact on my life. At the begining I was afraid of insects but I started watching videos on UA-cam about them until I could overcome it to the point that I have my own colony of ants! Thanks to this I met people from my town who love ants and made very good friends! :)
Interacting with ants has allowed me to get close to and watch one aspect of biology that has always fascinated me as I enjoy animals that live in colony's and I have always liked the way the hyeracy in ant colony's have worked
My interest in ants has led me to discover this channel. Your channel has shown me even more interesting things about ants. Thank you!
Ants have impacted me in a way that gives me excitement and eagerness to venture out with my two boys (and sometimes mom) into the woods and fields looking for not only ants but any form of insect life that can teach the three us a thing or two! They definitely have given me more to look forward to spring and summer.

Thank you for posting today!
It has helped me get through a lot of things I struggle with anxiety and depression but it keeps me distracted, It has also made me become more aware of how much ants affect the ecosystem
Another fantastic video Jordan! Trap jaws are a tedious but very interesting species to keep, its crazy how much power they have behind those jaws.
Any keeping has been an awesome experience so far, it really has been quite fascinating. I’m currently keeping 6 colonies, and it’s been a great way of stress relief just watching them as I’m currently doing my HSC... Thanks heaps for all of the content, keep it up 💪👍
Haha *ant
finally a new video and not only that but also showcasing my favorite spieces
By keeping ants my life completely changed. Due my depression I had no motivation for the world. Leaving my house was a no-go (except when I had to go to my doctor). But since I discovered the world of ants I became more active again. Going outside to catch little insects for my ants and looking for synapse flights to collect new queen ants. My life is much better now and it's make me so happy watching my ants. Also I got more interest to mother nature than before.
I’m lovin these trap jaw videos! Keep it up ya legend
My interest in ants has impacted my life the most by tuning me into nature. Now wherever I go I am always thinking where there would be an ant colony, where a queen might start her founding chamber. I've found over 20 different colonies in my 1.1 acre yard and love to go into nature and find more.
My life has been changed because i now respect them a whole lot more, it's fascinating watching them in the wild. Now i have my own ant colonies and I love to watch them. Their universe is so much different than ours!
I’ve always been interested in ants and other insects. By learning about them they’ve shaped me in the kid I’am today. Ants have impacted me in a way that I’am more caring for the environment and it’s wildlife.
I have found that keeping ants has helped me be more creative and allowed me to build and make new worlds for my ants. Living in a small appartment ants area great pets and can build some amazing worlds in a small space!
My interest in ants changed and adapted my lifestyle in a very positive way. The responsibility it is, and the honour to care for unique families of animals is a privilege as it has given me an experience and the opportunity to mature myself and learn to care for not only myself, but others in my care too :)
My interest in ants has changed my life alot because i dont do things i usually would like i use to play computer games and stay inside all day but now i go outside almost every day to look for ants. Also the most amazing thing happened three days ago. Thousands of queen ants were flying around and the next day i was watching them go in to groups of twenty then build nests. Also i wouldnt be writing this now if i didnt have interest in ants. Your videos have inspired me to like ants. Thankyou for your videos!
As always great video Jordan
My interest in ants led to expanding my interest into all arthropods. I never realized how interesting the interplay was between their behaviors and body structures. Still, ants are definitely still my favorites. Their wide range of colony behaviors is so cool.
This channel has ALOT of potential! Really hope you stick with it!
My interest in ants is important in my life. When I was a child I was fascinated by ants, there were several nests in my garden and I spent a lot of time observing their behavior, hunting cockroaches to feed them and defending them from the immense dangers. Now, a few years later, I'm a biologist. Ants are my hobby, I take long walks in nature to observe and photograph them, I not only learn incredible things, they relax and help me to eliminate stress.
My interest in ants has impacted my life pretty much. I'm only 13 and i spend a lot of time on internet watching ant keeping tutorials and stuff like that because i have 2 Lasius Niger queens both with lots of brood, workers can arrive at any moment, I also spend much time on the problems that have happened with the test tube set-ups (floods, moving the queen from test tube to test tube a d so on. I don't have much money on my own so i can't afford to buy fancy formicariums and arenas, I have a formicarium for only one of my ant colonies but i have arenas for both. all i need now is another formicarium for the second colony. Both formicaruims and nest are very small compared to those that you sell on your ant store. I can't afford your products because they are kinda pricey for me and I live in Europe. My dream is to have a Trapjaw ant colony like yours (the small orange ones). I got the formicarium and the two arenas on the cost of my birthday and christmas gifts which means i have invested a lot into ant keeping. My parents are also kinda happy that i got a hobby that i enjoy.
Wow that's a long comment. The longest i have ever written into any comment section of youtube.
When I started getting into ants it changed how I view many different things. Instead of seeing them as pests, I saw that they were intelligent and highly evolved problem solvers. The way they work and do daily things is fascinating
Answer to the question; Learning about ants and making them homes has made me feel more happy and caring. Ants take up a lot of my time as well because I can watch my ants and ant videos for hours! I am a new subscriber to you channel!
Literally my favorite type of ant. I just found one about an hour ago on accident while I was working! First one I have found since I became a fan of them so I was unreasonably excited
Antkeeping made me meet new people and made me find out that my country has a great antkeeping community from all ages. It's great to share knowledge and fascination with this group whilst keeping all kinds of ants and learn more about nature and its secrets!
My interest in ants have allowed me to have a wider understanding of insects and their small world that despite its small size, is just as beautiful and bewildering as ours. I learned much about these small ants and their BIG impact on the world such as in their native ecosystems and their invaded. These fun size critters are simply an aspect of nature that shall fascinate me till death. 🐜❤️
loved it as always :D
I started ant keeping one year ago,and at that time, I got the 27th place in school,I was very dissapointed and sad.But when I saw Your video,I got interested in ants and started to catch ants during their nuptial flight. The first ant I caught was a big Camponotus Parius in my yard, and I kept looking for more queens. It got me distracted from my exam grade and I felt happy again. #ANTKEEPERFOREVER
My interest in ants started when I was around the age of five but then the interest had faded away until about a few months ago. I stumbled upon your channel because of my favorite teacher she had many ant nests up to eight recently she has been told that she has stage one cancer in the liver. Her love for ants has robed off on me. the love for ants that she has helped me not think of the problems she will face ahead I hope every day that she will be ok I hope so hard that I recently found a queen fire ant that I have named after her because of her burning passion. This Is how my love for ants have impacted me as a person. Ps. love your channel I will tell her about it and your shop when she gets better.
Wait 5 jears
Ants have impacted my life greatly now when ever I go on walks I always look down to see queens or just workers so that I can try to identify them for fun. Being a ant keeper my self makes it a better experience to see ants every where of different species
Ants have changed my life by letting want to find other friends that maybe interested in ants to and whenever i see it rain or when i take a stroll around the park, i always take my test to look for a queen. It makes me want to hike a lot more just to find a queen ant.
When I started ant keeping nothing really impacted my life until school started! I was new to this school and had made a few friends.. a few months later I started to see queens at school so I started to collect some.. my friends asked what I was doing and asked if they could join in! And now They’ve become ant lovers just like me and now we’re all just a group of ant loving friends! And now I have other people who aren’t even from my class just interested in ants and now I have questions like “Is this a queen?” Or “Can I have A queen?” It makes me happy I’ve been able to send some ant love to them
My interest in ants has inspired me to this year go out and found my first colony of ants. It has also allowed me to branch out and watch many new channels and people I never knew about like this one. I cant wait to find my first queen.
I have spent a lot of money on ant keeping supplies, formicariums and queens. My friends all ask my to ID species they find, and I've meet new people. I have also begun to lose my arachnophobia from become interested in some spiders, and I now keep a colony of termites. Ant keeping has impacted me in so many ways.
From learning about ants and being interested in starting a colony, ants have opened my eyes to the fact that the cycle of life is a lot bigger than it seems and that it is less of a circle and more of a chain of multiple circles much akin to chain mail.
My interest in ants has impacted me in so many ways, I have a much bigger respect for nature,I have an interesting new hobby, I can care and nurture something I truly love, and last of all, I can connect with amazing people who also have an interest in the same hobby!
Ant keeping had a huge impact on my life. Ever since I watched AntsCanada and you I wanted to have a queen ant so bad but I could not find one. It made me outside A LOT so I can find a queen. Ant keeping made me want to buy a queen ant from a GAN farmer. If I didn’t ant keep I would not have met him. Now ant keeping made me stay up at night to watch my ants. Whenever I am away I always worry about my ants. I always think that I should feed them more. Ant keeping also made me use a website called “Formiculture”. If I didn’t ant keep I would not have met all of these ant keepers. They told me when queens were flying so I can have more colonies. This is why ant keeping changed my life. Also it made me know what species I have which is Camponotus Clarithorax, Pogo Califorisus or something, and solonopsis invicta. THANK GOD FOR ANTS!!
My interest in ants had a big impact. I used to be a drone who would do what my mom said. She'd find a colony and I spray it until every ant was dead. If I saw an ant in my house I'd squash it, I'd ignore that that ant had a purpose. Now, I relocate ant nests and beg my mom bit to hut them. I've searched for queens for 2 years but have had no luck. But nuptial flights are starting and I guarutee this will be my year!
