An inflatable pillow isn't that heavy as far as snivel gear goes. I've seen people bring beer.

Knowledge only becomes wisdom when you add the experience, which is the antidote for analysis paralysis. Good job.

Sleeping on higher ground in cold weather is a win... 👍
Cold air accumulates in low pockets/terrain.

I just found him on social media during hurricane Helene rescue!...
I have been very burdened for teaching my boys real life skills, critical thinking, first world problems that we will probably be facing at some point in the future, how to survive in your own, like on your own, with almost nothing.
I don't know where to find such curriculum for these things and my boys are teens
I started taking them fishing as often as possible.
      We go for a walks.
That works a lot. Landscaping and is dead, tired and doesn't have the burden yet to help them with these things. But he grew up really dirt. Poor in Mexico so I think you may be takes it for granted to some extent. Cuz he knew how to survive, haha.
No judgment, just hoping these videos will help light a fire in him and my boys as I share them.
It's not an understatement for me to say finding this channel has been an answered prayer!

It’s amazing how many people don’t know where the heat lies in elevations I would be a little concerned in heavy rains with water coming down the slopes

I use to do annual Survival “men’s trip” with the boys mostly combat vets and mountain men but now with work, age , family etc it’s harder to get everyone together. Live in NW Montana and will be doing overnight friction fire and over night in the snow on black friday! Wool blanket inside Gore tex bivy should be good to go.

This is exactly what I need! One item would first be my inhaler, since im Asthmatic. Even though I dont ever seem to need it out in the woods. If thats a free pass, then a lighter because I dont have confidence in my friction fire skills. I need to fix that.

@3:50 white pine age... question to the arborist, or Jason...? I'm from Upstate NY ( mountains) not city. But now live in western NC, yes, butt hole, you were 20 minutes from meeting "The Jason" That was I joke, just meet men man and you wouldn't hate me, wait, you said no hate... your misunderstanding, or missing to connect... nobody's fault... anyways, white pine, version. Called NC pine... because they're here... obviously, but different trees. Per se. I have some huge NC pines that I'm guessing are 150 years old... but without cutting them down, counting the rings.... not going to happen, but I truly enjoy OLD trees.. no we need a parking lot, so that 250 yo forest of trees gotta go! Bs.
