Here is a video about the history of Movie Maker as requested!
Windows Moviemaker is a program where you can edit videos and photos. This is introduced in Windows ME which is introduced on September 14, 2000.
Movie Maker got some updates through the years. Till 2012 Microsoft Updated Windows (Live) Movie Maker. Later they announced that they would not support a standalone moviemaker. This concludes an end of Windows Movie Maker at January 10, 2017.
I use the new design method that I used since November 1! It is cool, right?
I show you the Operating System, Version number with LOGO, which year it is released and a screenshot ,last but not least a story about the Windows Movie Maker. After that, I show a preview of that program with that version number. I order it per Operating System.
I like Movie Maker very much and I used it before I used Camtasia. When I was little I made videos with movie maker the classic one is the best in my opinion.
For the rest I will make a overview for you which versions there are.

- Version 2.5 (2005)
- Version 6.0 (2006)
- Version 2.6 (2007)
- Version 2009 (2008)
- Version 2011 (2010)

Further, they would continue with another application to support that namely; Windows Story Remix.

2.6 and 6.0 are the best versions
Yes! 6.0 was my all time favorite. They literally took what made the old Movie Maker special and crumbled it into many tiny pieces when the 2012 version came along.
2.6 WAS THE BEST FOR ME I LIKE THAT TIMELINE SETUP MADE IT EASIER FOR ME TO FIX THINGS IN THAT FORMAT

WinXP was overall such a good system. I just took an old laptop from my basement and started it and it has WinXP. It still runs perfectly and it runs much faster and cleaner than any other Windows version that followed it. On my other computers I dont use Windows anymore since Linux is kinda better now but back then I loved WinXP.
Some logo corrections to note:
3:51 is an unused logo of Windows Movie Maker and didn't roll out to 6.0 Movie Maker.
5:25 uses the same logo as Movie Maker 2012 (as seen in the top of the window)

That is a problem generally with the internet I think, at least the free part of it open to anyone. This video does seem however better and more concise than some of the movie maker History ones that I have seen.
Constructive/ critical comments are useful, although UA-cam hampers this by filtering many out.

it was the best Microsoft program for me, I used it when I was 11, it contributed to MySpace but above all to UA-cam ♥️

@@NostalgiaChannelNC Could you do History of Windows 8-8.1 (2011-2013) next? Also, can you do History of Windows 7 (2008-2009)? You could also do History of Windows Vista (2004-2017) and also History of Windows XP (2000-2014) too.
1 neat thing about WMM 6.0 is that it makes the colors a little bit higher contrasted compared to WMM 2.6 or older.
But this ward a hard thing to for me + my fellow students back then when i was a grade schooler student. #fastfacts

I replaced Windows Movie Maker into Sony Vegas Pro 14

nice video! but i noticed you used a specific intro video in version 6.0, could you please respond and tell me where you got/made that intro? I've been trying to make a classic video and I need a intro just like that (for the nostalgia)

ik heb in mijn allereerste versie een optie gehad dat je tekst kon toevoegen als een soort typmachine . de letters kwamen als een getikte letter een voor een in het scherm. waarom zijn de tekst opties er niet meer?

Because I am quite certain a video I remember from a long time ago was made with this program.. the nostalgic blue background I remember being a big clue.
Things were made better back in the days... I will forever say this... It just feels as if everything started going downhill in 2009 since...

OMG OMG! I’M SHITY
OMG.....narration is missing !!! The Music absolutely SUCK !!!! There is NO WAY you can claim to be an expert in this field if you cannot NARRATE your videos & talk people through the concepts. It's fine & helpful to have words displayed but without narration your channel will be extremely limited in audience reach (subscribers & views).
Also, if you go in the photos app in windows 10, and then hit new movie at the top it will launch a modern looking movie maker, so it has yet to die.

The best version of Windows Movie Maker is the HD for 6.0 and its almost impossible to find and get to work on anything as of 2022 (not the regular 6.0). Also, the fix zoom options is something this video didn't mention that you could download to enhance the video editing. That is also very hard to find and get to work... You might even need multiple codecs installed. Getting rid of video editing software is a huge step backwards by Microsoft. Even if you can get all these wonderful tools to work and make your videos superb, Windows 10 malignantly "updates" your computer (which should be called "downdates") and takes away all your features by resetting Windows Movie Maker to a function that gets rid of your tools and not making them work anymore. All of them!!! Even if you paid good money for extra tools (e.g. pans and zooms) for your Movie Maker... Why does Microsoft do this? Because the new generation that works there is pure evil that wants to control your life like the corrupt U.S. government we currently have. Its like Microsoft wants to see us struggle to see how we solve the problems they cause with their "updates" as of 2022. This is why the older Operating Systems were superb... They couldn't do this before when everything could be manually updated by you (the user).

I just started getting clued up on, and collecting and trying out Movie Maker. So far I have sucess with 6 on Windows 10. But I have only just started and not checked thoroughly yet.
Perhaps i will post again later if things still go well and then see if i can pass on any useful info on getting it going succesfuly.
