It was a must have for me in getting this 2 pack. The Fantastic Four is my 3rd favorite Marvel hero team. Definitely have to preorder the FF Spider-man and Wolverine.
I get where you're coming from with their list of powers. But the reason why I am okay with it... the Fantastic Four launched the entire Marvel Universe. The fact that their offspring, Franklin, is destined to create the next universe after this one ends just feels cool and poetic to me; also a nice nod to the work created by Stan and Jack who created this all in the first place. And Valeria is different, Doom was the one who delivered her when Sue was in danger from the pregnancy, so he saved Reed's family when Reed couldn't. And Valeria is so smart but so amoral that she views Doom as a beloved uncle... and he's placed her under his royal protection. She likes Uncle Doom better than she likes daddy. And I enjoy that. Though those powers for Valeria are new to me, I don't remember them in any comic. Hickman's FF run is much better than his X-Men and Avengers run. He was a good fit for those characters.
Love Hickman's books. I'm not a FF fan but love Franklin and valeria. Some great stories did come with those two. But might just be my preference. Great review.
I got mine for $22. Just one of my random search for deals and saw it. Fully expected a swap of some kind but I guess I got lucky (?). I would've never bought them otherwise.
I'd actually quite like if they did a 2-pack of Franklin & H.E.R.B.I.E together with their Calvin & Hobbes-esque designs from the ol' "Son of a Genius" comics from back in the day. That was always my main mental image of the two and would hit the nostalgia hard since I remember reading a bunch of those when you could for free on the Marvel website at the time As for Valeria: I honestly didn't even know she existed until this set came along... heh heh
Marvel Legends does so many, many Spider-Man (s) and versions of Spider-Man and Wolverines. It was nice to see something for Fantastic Four fans. I happily bought these. The way you felt about buying Franklin and Val is the way I feel about buying Spider-man and Wolverine to match the set
Valeria doesn't have any powers. She's just the smartest person on Earth, and she's Doom's goddaughter. She's basically the only person Doom actually loves and respects, and he'd do ANYTHING for her. And she loves her "uncle" Doom kinda more than her own family, because he's the only one close to her intelligence. All of her "powers" and stuff have only ever come from things she has invented. Franklin, on the other hand, is basically meant to be the most powerful character in the Marvel Universe. That's the point. It's supposedly his fate to be the final survivor of this universe, and he'll be reborn as the new Galactus in the next universe.
@sasukeuchiha8801 I mean.....I don't really keep track of specific issues like that, but even if I did, it's like Valeria's whole life. Doom is the one who helped Valeria be born. Doom is the one who named her (her original name was Valeria Von Doom). Doom made her his familiar. She was already smarter than Reed Richards (and probably Doom) by age 3. She's been hanging out with Doom more and more over time. When she needs an adult, she tends to want to go to Doom. When the world needs saving, she asks Doom for help. When her dad is experimenting with dangerous stuff she warns Doom of the danger so Doom can stop him. Franklin I don't really keep track of, because I'm not really a fan of the character. But like he's the one who rescued all the superheroes when they sacrificed themselves to kill Onslaught. He brought them all back to life "as he remembered them" in a pocket universe that he created. After Secret Wars, with the help of his dad and the Molecule Man, he helped remake the entire multiverse. He and his family were gone for 5 years rebuilding the multiverse. So that aged him and Valeria up by 5 years. This version of Val we have as an action figure is only supposed to be 8 years old. Franklin is known to unknowingly warp reality around himself. The theory is that Franklin looks up to his ultra genius little sister SO MUCH that he imagines her to be a LOT older than than she actually is, and that's why she's depicted looking more like she's 14 than 8 here. And also when her depictions seem to fluctuate wildly. MAYBE Franklin has subconsciously warped her to be as old as he feels like she's supposed to be. When Reed Richards used the Ultimate Nullifier to destroy Abraxus, which killed Galactus too, Franklin used all of his powers to recreate Galactus and bring him back to life. Which burned out Franklin's powers for a while and left him a normal kid. He recently burned out his powers again trying to help the X-Men, and is currently a normal teenager again. For a long time people thought Franklin was a mutant. Turns out he's not. He's just a huge fan of the X-Men, so he unknowingly warped reality to make it seem like he was a mutant. In one of the Immortal Hulk comics is where it was revealed that Franklin's intended potential destiny is to be the final survivor of this universe, being reborn as the first entity in the next universe and thereby becoming the new incarnation of the "Galactus" force/"office" - the cosmic god between Eternity/Infinity and Death/Oblivion who balances creation and destruction (just as Galan Of Taa was the last survivor of the previous universe before being reborn as Galactus in this universe). (Another potential final survivor/Galactus is Mr. Immortal. But Mr. Immortal is only the backup, in case Franklin dies. There's also a reality where Hulk kills BOTH of them, and Hulk himself is the final survivor who became the next Galactus) Point is, Franklin is SUPER powerful, but they have ways to take his powers away, he's definitely killable, and most of the big stuff he does with his godlike powers is.....big...cosmic-level stuff. He's not like routinely being actively overpowered and single-handedly saving the universe or anything. You'll have to go google that stuff to figure out specific issues.
Im surprised to hear that Valeria Richard has all those powers..i thought that she was just a MEGA genius Btw Franklin dyed his hair black during the X Men vs Fantastic Four series that came out in 2020 I believe.. he was going thru a teenage REBELLIOUS phase..
The characters have been great in recent years since Marvel started FF comics back again. The Thing and Alicia adopting Kree and Skrull children has been a lot of fun, and they've used Franklin and Val really well too. These figs look pretty good too!
I've been reading F4 since the 2018 relaunch and loving pretty much all of it. I really hope we get figures of Alicia and her adopted kids down the line.
I can Critique nearly EVERY current Marvel 💭 Comic storyline, for the Same way that your Critiquing Franklin and Valeria. Nate Grey, Cable, Omega, Jean Grey, Dr Doom, Iron Man, Carol Danvers, Scarlet Witch, etc etc!
I was on the fence about these but I decided I wanted Franklin and Valeria for my FF shelf. They aren't awesome. Also, Franklin had blond hair in the Hickman run.
The thing I don't like about these two are they are nothing like the FF4 original team. They have more than one power, like Invisible Woman could turn invisible and make Invisible bubble shields. Reed was stretchy, The Thing was a rock, Johnny was fire. The two are like a hodge podge of powers I don't think the creators got the memo of less is more. They're too busy of characters for me, a real scatter-brained idea if you ask me.
I share the same sentiment, brother. Only got them since I just decided to do a whole shelf for F4 (and that they cost me a whopping $29 on Amazon). They're really only good for posing once & never messing with 'em again!
I like this 2pk. I have them with my retro F4 team, the black suits make them stand out, and when I get that Spider-Man/Wolverine 2pk, it'll be like a 2nd team of 4.
The retro carded Invisible Woman head does look better on that black costume figure. I swapped the heads on both my figures and it for some reason just looks alot better with the black costume
Btw i feel the SAME way about the Avengers 60th Anniversary Hulk & Bruce Banner 2 Pack..i have pretty much ALL the Marvel Legends Hulk figures...im a HUGE Hulk fan & needed them for my Hulk display..so i do NOT need ANOTHER Grey Hulk..but i wanted the Bruce Banner figure...& he runs about $20 on the aftermarket..but since Amazon is selling the 2 Pack for $35..im going to justify buying it because i can tell myself that the Grey Hulk in the Pack is only gonna cost me $15....but i STILL don't feel good about it...😖
Meh, the teamup with Wolverine and Spider-Man during Slott's run wasn't that momentous an event. As for Franklin and Valeria, the former's powers have burned out, and a recent issue of the North run shows that Valeria is sometimes too clever for her own good.
Don’t think these are based of Hickman? Spidey and Wolverine answer the call in Fantastic Four #22 by Dan Slott, Paco Medina, Sean Izaakse, Marcio Menyz, Jesus Aburtov, and Joe Caramagna
Valaria in her Dr doom look would be a very cool fig but ya not the greatest figs I bought them on black Friday cause I do enjoy new characters and was diving into more f4 comics and content. Plus I feel the black suits just don't have that same appeal as the blue suit f4 seems more like a dopple ganger thing imo
If you think Captain Atom/Dr.Manhattan/Firestorm are OP then checj out the powers and abilities of the Golden Age DC character CAPTAIN COMET. You´ll laugh. To say that he is OP for a DC Universe character is an overstatement. No wonder he´s never been used. How can he?
Cleaning out my closet, I found a Diamond Select Romulan Bird of Prey that I totally forget I owned. It had never been opened. I can guess why. I'm having trouble finding room for it.
Legends has a lot of "filler" figures and these fall comfortably in that category. Still glad I passed. Gonna pass on the stupid blue Spidy & Logan pack too. I already have the classic/iconic versions of those characters. These are a waste of money and plastic.
I bought them because I caught a crazy sale on Amazon one night. Had them displayed maybe two days and then they went into storage bags. Not feeling them either.
As an FF fan, I'm actually very happy they made this set. I'd love to have younger versions, too, but I'll take what I can get.
It was a must have for me in getting this 2 pack. The Fantastic Four is my 3rd favorite Marvel hero team. Definitely have to preorder the FF Spider-man and Wolverine.
D@MN I didn't know Valeria has pins, this is really a bad set after that, they could use Jubilee X-Men three pack mold.

Hickman's FF run is much better than his X-Men and Avengers run. He was a good fit for those characters.
The Hickman run is actually great. It's the Slott run, where these figures are based off, I didn't get into, even though I tried.
Slott's run is good, but too much going on.
Ryan North's current run is an upgrade and worthy successor to the Slott run
Love Hickman's books. I'm not a FF fan but love Franklin and valeria. Some great stories did come with those two. But might just be my preference. Great review.
35 bucks on Amazon is what made me pull the trigger. The valeria one stinks
I got mine for $22. Just one of my random search for deals and saw it. Fully expected a swap of some kind but I guess I got lucky (?). I would've never bought them otherwise.
Mee too😊

@@megagrey Oh yeah that would be a good 3 pack idea. And maybe a new Human Torch with his crazy 70s mustache!
I hate how utterly jacked they make Franklin... I just... Idk, I just hate having characters being unnecessarily ripped.
Should just start collecting those jars to make our own Futurama action, figure head museum

It was $24 on Amazon, surprisingly... Now it's jumping from $35 to $40, might snag one before it goes higher.
Totally with you on the overpowered characters. It just takes all the stakes out of the story!
I like this 2pk. I have them with my retro F4 team, the black suits make them stand out, and when I get that Spider-Man/Wolverine 2pk, it'll be like a 2nd team of 4.

I feel like the Franklin is to big and I'm surprised they didn't use the previous teenage boy mold used be the ultimate spiderman and miles figures
I bought them to put with there parents and I'm pretty sure Franklin dyed his hair because he's a teenager.
I got them for $35 on Amazon earlier this week. I like F4 so I'm happy to have them, but I think the size isn't right.
Franklin lost all his mutant abilities before the start of the Slott FF run that these figures are based off
Btw i feel the SAME way about the Avengers 60th Anniversary Hulk & Bruce Banner 2 Pack..i have pretty much ALL the Marvel Legends Hulk figures...im a HUGE Hulk fan & needed them for my Hulk display..so i do NOT need ANOTHER Grey Hulk..but i wanted the Bruce Banner figure...& he runs about $20 on the aftermarket..but since Amazon is selling the 2 Pack for $35..im going to justify buying it because i can tell myself that the Grey Hulk in the Pack is only gonna cost me $15....but i STILL don't feel good about it...😖
Agree they were a bit of a let down, but they are a must need if your a FF fan!🤷♂️🤷♂️😬
I always see these in the clearance bins at JB-HI-FI

I love the 2 pack of Franklin and Valeria Richards figures 😎🔥
This video might have sucked for you but I sure enjoyed it!
Happy shart😂
The takeaway from watching this review is that we need a new X-23.
I wouldn’t be surprised if this 2 pack ends up in Ross or Ollie’s.
these are freakin yucky figures, but any shartimus prime vid is worth a watch
These figures are based on the Dan Slott run
If you think Captain Atom/Dr.Manhattan/Firestorm are OP then checj out the powers and abilities of the Golden Age DC character CAPTAIN COMET. You´ll laugh. To say that he is OP for a DC Universe character is an overstatement. No wonder he´s never been used. How can he?
It's about time that you review this two pack

how are you not a Hickman fan?!??! like what?
6:50 Minor Threat?
Yeah these figures suck. Even if I ended up getting that spidey and wolverine 2pk I’d still have no desire in picking these up to complete the team.
Valeria having that tiny neck ball is a bummer, I’d have liked to try that head on more bodies
Sup
Man, I give up😅
Big time letdown Richards children.
Shartimus why are you shitting on the figures because of the backstory of the comics/animation/live action 😭😭
Guys, I don’t think he really likes the characters
Legends has a lot of "filler" figures and these fall comfortably in that category. Still glad I passed. Gonna pass on the stupid blue Spidy & Logan pack too. I already have the classic/iconic versions of those characters. These are a waste of money and plastic.
leaving the cut outs is so lazy and such a hasbro thing to do
Probably 3rd or 4th
I wouldn’t buy this if it was $1.
I think they look good…. Shiiiit ima get them with the spidey-wolverine set 🤘🏽 than I’ll have a full fantastic 4 squad 💯
I bought them because I caught a crazy sale on Amazon one night. Had them displayed maybe two days and then they went into storage bags. Not feeling them either.
