Training to type 100 WPM for 10 minutes Straight

  • I trained my typing skills to get to 100 wpm for 10 minutes straight. My initial keybr test had me at 73 wpm but I know that's not accurate. During the initial test, I was consistently tested on q, x, and z a disproportionate amount of times because they're my weakest keys. So in 7 days of 10 minutes per day, I went from about 85 wpm to 100wpm.

that website is nice, I like what it does with curating the words to help you improve, but god the interface is rough. The way it highlights the letter you need to type always makes me type the next letter and the thing in place of a space is also just weird. Gets annoying to actually type on.

I learned to touch type on keybr , it works like magic , when I was at my initial stage my speed was around 14 wpm, after one month of almost one to two hours of practice on keybr i reached a speed of 60wpm. The fact that keybr does not include actual words and the settings was like you cant backspace , i knew this was only my raw speed, but the improvement was magical. After that I started practicing on monkeytype to learn typing actual words , but then i saw after a month or two that my speed is not going beyond 65-70 ( average not raw) , so now I am going back to keybr , because I think it took me to 60 wpm so it will absolutely take me to 100 or more ,,,,my target is 100 ,,,,,anyway great video. :D this motivates me.

Just switch from QWERTY to Dvorak keyboard layout. It'll take a couple months to transition, but you'll automatically type much faster and will also feel less strain. The QWERTY layout was engineered to slow down typists (to prevent typewriter jams). Dvorak was engineered with the opposite in mind. Fastest typist in the world, Barbara Blackburn, *212 WPM* (for over an hour). She used the Dvorak layout, not QWERTY.

i went to the site and it looks nice. The competiton is not realistic tho, you don't need to press backspace when you make mistakes. And players in that site types at 60 wpm, i mean when i type in typer racer i get 110 wpm but i still don't get first in all competitions. im not gonna conclude that keybr is trash but i still wonder why are there so many slow typers in that site.

Cool vid but when I was learning touch typing, I didn't like the way I had to type certain keys. After like 3 years I stopped typing and then a few months later I started typing differently. I tried to do touch typing but it wasn't as fast and accurate as the way I'm typing now. I'm not saying that touch typing is obselete, I'm saying that you should maybe edit your touch typing technique and make it better. Before I typed 20-40 wpm when using touch typing then now I type 110-130 wpm.

@@letsdomath1750 Let'sDoMath I'm just saying that maybe touch typing isn't the best for everyone but if you are a beginner it's ok. I'm just telling my side of the story and when I used this website it didn't go well for me. After 3 months I still struggled at 20-45 wpm and I just took a long break and just quit. After that break I watched a couple of typing videos and came upon a hybrid typist. They memorize the layout of the keyboard, similar to the touch typist but hybrid typist don't come back to the home row. I started memorizing the keyboard layout and started trying to type how I think is the easiest way to reach the keys and I'm saying it worked really well for me. I would encourage people to do this but touch typing is really good for beginners IF, they had started typing recently or, they are straight doo doo and need help. If touch typing doesn't work after like a few months of practicing then, I recommend you do what I did.

I watched videos of people typing touch typing but I saw this one guy raced with hybrid typing and I did some research and learned what it was. Basically memorize the keyboard layout and map your fingers to which keys to press and what feels comfortable. Hybrid typing isn't taught because every hybrid typist has their own unique way of typing.
