Thanks for the compliment. Situationally I like music in videos, but generally speaking mother nature is beautiful enough, nothing else is needed. Tight lines.
Another awesome video Mike!!! Holly cow that brookie was a tank!! Stocked or not that boy put up one awesome fight for you!!! That’s a shame about that big boy you had on😭😫 hate it when I snap them big boys off, hasn’t happened in awhile but when it does you just can’t stop thinking about it😂😂😂 lol it gets to your head hahaha. Great redemption video on Letort! Super tough fishery and any day you can land fish there is a great day on letort! Tight lines buddy and keep up the great work!!!👊🎣💦
I wish I had camera on when I started fishing. New stream, second cast, just didn't see that coming, oh well! I agree that any fish in any section of this stream makes for a good day. Thanks for watching Owen!
Hey Dan, appreciate you checking it out. Cool little stream, something that many PA streams just don't look like. I will need to go back and showcase the upper part some time. It is super choked with Cressbeds. Makes for scenic but TOUGH fishing!
Hey Mike! Love those first two sections of the Letort. Great catches, felt your pain when that big boy got off 😭. The Brookie, I don’t know, hard to tell on brookies cause even the stocked ones are super pretty, sure was a bruiser if it was wild. Thanks for sharing. 👍🏻
Thanks for watching! I think he was a stocked fish that has taken up residence in this COLD spring creek for quite some time. He was a bruiser though. Ill have a video out eventually were I get two 15-16 inch brookies, but clearly they are stockers. This one almost had me believing :) Thanks for watching!
Totally caught off guard by it. It is a Class A rainbow stream if I am not mistaken, and I have seen other people catch some huge wild browns in it too. Did not expect the brookie lol. Goes to show you that you just never know. Thanks for watching man!
Nice video, great fish coming out of that stream. Once that sun comes out those fish get mighty skiddies. Always a good day when you do not get skunked. Looking forward to your next video. Stay safe
For sure! The bite was hot from 6-9 and then turned off. Not completely but definitely lessened. I was happy to have had a chance at over a half dozen fish, and net 3. That big one would have been something though! Really wish I could have seen him up close. Also would have been an incredible revenge narrative for that to be my way of getting into my first fish there. Thanks for watching Rich, I appreciate it. Tight lines!
Great video! And redemption is always sweet! I have to go to check this place out. It’s on my list. The water looks agreeable to tight lining where you were with those riffles and pools. Sweet, man!
You should! It was TOUGH wading, I mean literally the toughest I have experienced, and I am not exaggerating. Tons of rocks, but man do they move and are slippery. I fished it for an hour one day prior to this and I was ALL OVER the place slipping without that "wading staff". It helped greatly the second trip but I was still having a tough go and at one point took a full dip. Def get out there and experience it. It is very close to the Savage, within about 20-30 mins, so could do both in a day, or make a weekend out of fishing both. The water is great overall, although it was low outside of the holes you saw here on film. We went up a 1/4-1/2 mile and had time finding anything fishy looking. But the water was a nice color for sure and had good deep pockets where we started and finished, which is right by the parking lot. Thanks for watching and tight lines!
Tight Lining MD I’ve been seeing some big fish rise on the creek where we talked btw 👍🏼. Catching a few but not the larger ones that are rising. Chasing light Cahills .
Appreciate it! I would bet unless you are an all world angler, or local that fishes that only it is tough for everyone. I agree with you about that being a solid brookie regardless. Sure I have caught bigger, but not a true native. Although I don't think he was, he sure has been in there long enough to start looking wild. Thanks for watching!
You should! Tough stream, but totally worth the drive. Upper section is super hard to fish, because of the cressbeds. I need to try and give it a shot another time and put something on film, if I can :) Thanks for watching Scott!
Thanks for watching Craig. Living in PA it is worth you exploring. Always fun to hit new water, especially historic water like that. I went back for him a week or two later, no luck. Hoping to get him a different time. Look forward to your next one. Tight lines!
For sure man! I have a vid I will need to edit eventually where I got two like 15-16 inchers, but they were pellet heads. Cool to catch, but nothing special about them other than size :) Thanks for watching!
Well no skunk spot tough losing a nice one tough Nice technique tip stop 2 and a small catch ! Was that third spot a different day?.the brookie at the end was a beauty great job! Not there best video to judge by but if I had to guess I would say the fish was stocked catching one that big Is not always easy to have a native born one that side near impossible! Still a great catch!
The third stop, on the dry dropper, was a different day. I went back for the big one I missed. No avail! However, did get the nice one on dry dropper. I am with you on your thoughts of the brookie. Still a prized catch, but not the trophy native I wish it was. Thanks for watching Ron!
Good vid Mike. Haven’t heard good things about Latort recently. May have to take a trip. How do you like your Syndicate? I’m right on the edge of picking up their 10’4wt. I have a 10’ 3wt. But want to step up a size. Lemmeno.
Hey Greg, I get mixed responses on it, but most have been positive. Def worth exploring, but a tough stream. Depending on how far you are driving it could be a close call on is it worth it. I think so, but getting skunked is a real option here. I have been there once :) I LOVE my Syndicate 3 wt. I would even enjoy a 2 or 4, but that 3 puts me right in the middle. I fish dries, nymphs, and streamers on the 3. I think the 4 wt would make the streamers a big easier. I have a Sydicate Aquous 10' 7 wt when I just want to chuck streamers and need the extra size/butt, as well as sinking line. If you are looking for an upgrade/extra rod I think a 10' 4 wt is a nice addition. I just personally won't get one lower or higher due to the feeling 1 size weight isn't a huge difference. However, I have heard the 2 is great for sensitive nymphing and the 4 wt is a bit better overall rod for varying presentation, specifically if you want to do some streamer fishing too. Either way, ya can't go wrong :)
Dude I’m definitely going to randomly bump into you one of these days I try the spot above the second set of waterfalls all the time in meadow area after rd for some HUGE (and skittish) wild browns. My take on Letort is it’s randomly underfished and great in lower reaches but FFO historic sections suck. Good job man!
We most likely will one day. I just won't know who you are until you speak lol. I know where you are talking about. I have fished that once before. There is just so much slow/slack water there. However, I just bought some stuff and watched a video on NZ Indicator fishing, so I am gonna start trying that in deep slow pools. I agree with your assessment though. I am sure I could be convinced otherwise, but overall that is my experience as well.
@@tightliningmd I recommend what works in slower water for me: San Juan worms (preferably squiggly/rubber ones) no bead on the worm, BB 8 inches up from the fly. Might have to sample different colors (White, Green, Hot Pink). May have to shake it a little also, and use a small indicator. PS- Nice job & Vid!
Nice Mike! I'm never one to profess with any certainty if a fish is wild or stocked when there is a mix of wild and stocked in a stream but nice fish nonetheless.
Be very careful if you decide to wade the Letort. There are several locations where the silt is loose and feet deep. You can easily be sunk up to your thighs or waist.
Appreciate that advice! I have heard about, and even experienced some of it. I don't get in the water, any higher than where I fished. Even there I found one spot that went up to my knees with silt. I also have heard about banks caving in too, if you aren't careful. So yes, that is sound advice, and a stream that although worth exploring, is not for the faint of heart, for many reasons. Thanks for watching and commenting!
Oh ok, good points brought up. I just know they stock the river this trib feeds. So I wasn't sure if it ran up from main stem and just stayed. Thanks for watching and giving your feedback. I hope you are right!
I love that you don’t use annoying background music. Love the sounds of the water.
Thanks for the compliment. Situationally I like music in videos, but generally speaking mother nature is beautiful enough, nothing else is needed. Tight lines.
What a bonus at the end. Another fine video. Thanks!
It was a huge bonus. This was a super good trip for the soul. Good day on water and good day for my family. Appreciate you watching and commenting!

That was a freaking tank brookie of it was wild! Sheeesh

Nice footage Doc. Anything w Spring in the name is gonna be a learning experience!
You got that right! Letort, Big Spring, Spring, etc, all very unique and tough to fish. Thanks for watching!
Great job buddy 👍
Thanks 👍 Appreciate you watching John!

Awesome stuff man. The Letort has always been tough for me. Way to get a couple. Also, stocked or wild, heck of a brookie at the end there!

Way to beat the skunk! Awesome brookie! I need to fish there soon, never been there. Great video Mike!

Good video Mike. I have yet to hit the Letort. Congratulations on your success. Get that big brown next time!
Thanks for watching Craig. Living in PA it is worth you exploring. Always fun to hit new water, especially historic water like that. I went back for him a week or two later, no luck. Hoping to get him a different time. Look forward to your next one. Tight lines!

@@tightliningmd Pellet heads hahaha I have never heard that before!! Thats funny
wild browns on letort
the video sharing is very good
Thank you so much 🙂 Great stream, definitely makes me feel inferior, but glad to have landed a few and missed a nice one. Appreciate you watching!

Well said! I don't get caught up in it, just always curious what they are. At the end of the day just happy they played along and put up a good fight.
