  • In the previous video, I shared that I bought samples of all 70 M. Graham watercolors from this shop 美奈酱水彩种草机 at TaoBao (淘宝).
    m.tb.cn/h.f3xaEAv?sm=fc5720
It was a mess when I received the palette but I have since cleaned it and prep it for the swatch. This is the massively long video where I swatch out them out.
    * Corrections on some inaccuracies In this video*
    (1) Ultramarine pink and quinacridone violet were swop in the video cos the pans came arranged like that.
    (2) The pigment used in ultramarine pink is PV15, not PV19.
    (3) Mineral violet Is a mixture of PV15 and PV16.
    (4) Ultramarine violet is a mixture of PB29 and PV15.

Thanks for talking. I like it when people talk about the colors or their process rather than playing music. I get nothing from the music except for the desire to fall asleep. I prefer information or simply just listening to another artist's opinion or information they might have to share.

M.Graham paints are always a great investment. Their Neutral Tint is a hidden gem. It creates fantastically beautiful darks with almost any color saving you precious time. And their activation time, which is close to zero, puts them way before DS in my list of preferred brands. They can also be used in a plein air palette (with the exception of hot and humid regions), you just have to let the paints dry properly after you set the palette up and then they won't make a mess (same with Sennelier).
Thank you for this video! I feel like some of the colors, which I have myself, are even stronger, than on these swatches, like Ultramarine Blue, Anthraquinone or Viridian.
Mineral Violet and Ultramarine Violet are both mixed colors. Mineral Violet has both PV15 and PV16 in it. Ultramarine Violet is a mix of PV15 and PB29.

The Quin Violet and Ultramarine Pink are swapped. The ultra pink is the granulating soft hue and the Quin violet the strong purple/Magenta hue. I love Ultramarine pink it's one of my favourite colors XD

Not sure how I missed this one when it came out! Great swatches. I agree that the quins and phthalos are unusual in this brand, also the Anthraquinone and the PY150 and PY129. I recently heard from Lindsay Weirich that most brands use additives to prevent these pigments from flocculating (they are very small particles.) I guess M. Graham does not!

I really enjoyed watching your video. It was very helpful to me as I want to purchase a few more colors from M. Graham and now I can tell what they will look like. I also want to let you know, that it looks like you may have mixed up two of the violet colors; the Quinacridone Violet (PV 19) with the Ultramarine Pink (PV 15). That's probably why it seemed like the Quin. Violet was granulating, because it was actually Ultramarine Pink.

Thank you for getting into the trouble to swatch for us so many colours.
    M. Graham colours are heavily pigmented and made with the best materials but their main disadvantage is that they contain some sort of diffusing agent that makes them( what else ) to diffuse like crazy with the slightest hint of water. This is great for those who paint in a more loose or abstract style but problematic and counter productive for those who are painting in multiple layers and details. I paint botanical illustrations and I've never managed to make this line of watercolours work for me, as I had to dry completely my paper each and everytime I wanted to work the details.
If the paper is slightly wet from a previous application of the tiniest detail then whatever you apply next will diffuse into it.
I assume that this watercolour will be great if you work on printing papers without sizing but if you work with them on regular watercolour paper or even worst in one that has an internally and externally sizing then that's it... you are done.
You are going to get blurry results unless you have the hair drier at hand and dry continuously your paper.
This is very unfortunate because these colours are extremely vibrant and expensive ( particularly for European artists) and it is a pity that are made for a particular kind of painting.
Your channel is underated btw. You have great videos and very few subscribers for the quality of your content.
    Very nice and informative channel.
