@@davidwatkin1484 it’s a runway, not a drag strip, you can hear how loose the surface is underneath the car, on a proper drag strip that is rubbered in it would be able to accelerate faster. Sure there was no wheelspin, but it obviously that is due to sensors to prevent wheel spin. In a 2000hp car, if you floor it, there is going to be wheelspin regardless of AWD or not, without a computer intervening.
Dragtimes already tested it on a drag strip, 0-60 in under 2 seconds (rollout included) and 1/4 mile in 8.58 seconds. It was an interesting video, you should give it a watch.

The reason why there was no wheelspin is because the traction control of EVs are superior. So in theory, if the Rimac turned off traction control and launched with max power on a prepped surface, the drag times would be lower but it wouldn't be real because it's basically "cheating". One reason why most people believe muscle cars suck is simply because they can't get any traction which is why in the Dodge Demon drag race with the Porsche, the Porsche 911 Turbo was faster than the Dodge Demon even though it has less horsepower than the Demon but managed to beat it because of it's superior traction.
Our Audi Q5 plug in does 5.0. It's the fastest car I've ever owned. I want to trade it for the Q4 e-tron but that's only 5.8 and not as nice inside the cabin.
You can tune them to be better! My buddy tuned mine and it does 0-60mph in 1.3s, 0-10 in 2.2s, and has a new top speed of 283mph (over 259mph). Haven't run it on a true 1/4 yet but I'd bet my left nut it's under 8.

the best time i seen for the Nevera was a 8.5-8.6@170+mph. it was on Dragtimes. this car is amazing, waiting on the tesla roadster to go up against this, but the Nevera looks a lot better. a mid 8 second car for the street !!!!!!

The Chiron super sport does almost the same numbers while being a petrol car with 400hp less. The Nevera did the 0-200km/h in roughly 5,3 sec, the Chiron super sport does it in approx 5,8sec.
I love that they are so fast but I love the sound of a gas engine at WOT and turbo noises, super charger whine. It just won’t be the same. But of course for the kids growing up electric cars will be the norm for them. They might hate loud motors etc. who knows….
The problem with EVs is there's no screaming exhaust note. It's not just about the speed. When you launch in a muscle car or high performance sports car part of the experience is the noise and vibration and running through the gears. I love the sound of my Coyote 5.0 screaming thru the Corsa Extremes at 7K RPMs in my S550 Mustang GT. It's a huge part of the experience
Check out the DragTimes video on that. It was not a close race. The Plaid got destroyed, which is nuts considering how well the Plaid does against literally any other road car!
PLEASE do a top speed test. Off the line acceleration is great but what would be even cooler is to see the acceleration at 300-400 kph, and of course top speed. Edit, because I found my old comment: Rimac finally did a top speed test with the Nevera, so I’m happy now.
I have hunch when they start to deliver cars to Clients, they will tweak it, maybe even provide different tires to order etc. One thing which is saying positively is that these tires provided same performance on this unprepared surface vs actual drag strip in US. So either it's tires, or there is a "safe mode" code. I believe it's the sw.
I think this car would break some of its components if you gave it a prepped surface and better tires, without limiting the power and torque on the launch.
@@MyRealName There is a reason why Porsche and some other manufacturers have better launch modes than others. It is a special craft to deal with torque and grip. Maybe they needed more time to test, repeat, tweak... Let's see. I know Mate Rimac few times mentioned giving more power/performance from this.

All good numbers but I and 99% of us done have 2Million in the bank, Most would even struggle with the 150K of the Plaid… I settled for my White on White Tesla Model 3 Performance at 75K incl FSD that gets 0-60 in 3.1 and Quarter Mile in 11.7 I find this to be “Great value for money”… 🥰🥰🥰
