John Deere Backhoe Demolishes Old Barn!

  • This is a job I did several years ago using my John Deere 310SE Backhoe where I attempt to demolish an old tin shed barn that used to serve as a grainery. The old barn initially puts up a bit of a fight but, (SPOILER ALERT) eventually the backhoe is crowned the winner in this battle of strength. I like to do odd jobs on the weekends with my machines and demolition is obviously one of the funnest things a man can do with his heavy equipment. ENJOY!

    Hard to watch an old building torn down but when you can't have them insured there's not much left but to tear them down. Not much of a problem with the right tools and equipment. Good job.

      Yeah I wish it was economical to rebuild and save them somehow but seems like in today's world it is just easier to build new than it is to fix up an old one. At least we have a video now to remember the old tin shed!

    Cool Neil!! Not sure if you remember me or not but I almost bought your JD 318 loader a few years back. You made a YT video for me. Hope all is well!

      Hey I remember making that video! It is still on UA-cam somewhere but set to private is all! All is well for me thanks. Did you ever get a tractor/loader? I still have several JD tractors I guess I just can't seem to get away from them :) Thanks for checking out my video! It was my New Years resolution to try to make some videos actually meant for UA-cam so I'm gonna give it a whirl and see where it goes! Take Care!

    i think the cross braces on top is what kept you from pushing it over.and boy would i like those timbers .im a wood worker and can make lots with timbers

    • @digdrivediy
      @digdrivediy  3 роки тому

      I think it was a combination of the cross braces and it was still attached to that light pole in the corner. I saved some of the wood and a bunch of the tin siding for repurposing.

    It show the difference between a track loader. This barn would not even stop one of them or a bulldozer.

    Neil would you mind doing a video on the equipment you bought if you had it to do all over again you wouldn't have bought it you know like the back of her a lot of guys say they wouldn't buy a backhoe again because it's a track hoe and a loader and it's not really great at either one you have anything in your background that you would not buy again? Or that you go just straight to what you have now to save money? Be interesting video? Help us guys, that are just thinking about buying equipment.

      Wow, thanks for the idea Marsh Monster. I may have to think about doing something like that type of video. I certainly have opinions on the equipment, and I have bought and sold quite a few things... didn't consider anyone would want to hear what I have to say about it though! You have my wheels turning. That would make some great content for this winter when I can't get anything done outside. I really appreciate the suggestion. Let me know if there's anything else like that you think would be interesting. At least I can count on you for one of the views! :) Thanks again buddy.

      But there is this video... A tribute to this building that otherwise nobody ever would have got to experience. Sometimes things live on, and sometimes they die. This building was a goner! Thanks for watching Bill!
