Hey Rhykker, thanks for the videos. I think it would be useful to notate the timestamps on when you're notating fresh 70 build, vs 2pc, vs full builds. Also the paragon distribution is useful to note as well. Just a QoL suggestion, but regardless great videos man!
Awesome build! I found that the Haunted Visions amulet for permanent Blood & Bone runed Simulacrum deals more damage than corpse lance, and does it all the time. That's without the bonus from Krysbin's Sentence though, although so far it seems like having triple Blood Novas all the time works better. Another perk of this setup is that I can slot Death Nova-Blood Nova and get the increase in damage and range without the health cost. According to wiki, you also need to have the skill slotted for your Simulacra to cast it anyway. Need to stop draining bosses sometimes due to bone armor running out prematurely, but other than that it works well overall, decent vs bosses. Will keep tweaking as I find gear, thanks again for the build! :) In short: Corpse lance replaced with Blood Nova Land of the Dead replaced with Simulacrum, made pemanent with Haunted Visions.
@rhykker love you videos bud. Probably the most informative videos out here. Love your weekly news. Love your their lists. Keep up all the awesome work.
It adds a new angle to the game. You might want to check out the following starter guide for this season: C2Fe_VDo-90 (search for that text in UA-cam search) Also the following channel has a lot of good Necro builds: Lord Fluffy
Out of curiosity, why didn't you suggest a 3rd legendary gem? Other than trapped, pain enhance is easily one of the best gems for bone storm. That gem alone is usually enough damage to kill 90% of enemies with the DoT. I have to admit though that I've never tried doing really high solo pushes with Inarius, but everything I have done has always been with pain enhancer and I would never not use it in the build.
Like the build. I personally go with poison nova to take advantage of efficacious toxin. I use cursed scythe to apply all curses. It does seem a little shaky at times but I can do GR80s with it with little issue. I am going to have to try your build. Looks like fun. Thanks for the info.
hey Rhykker ,big fan here thanks for the guides i started playing with friends due your amazing work , say i see that in the tier list of this season you have a thorn build , for this set is there any chance you can upload a video about it ?
Any reason not to take Lornelle's Sunstone over Unity in the cube? I found one before I found 2 unities and the immortal follower thing and I'm feeling tanky as hell with it.
I didnt think I would ever play D3 again but for some reason im interested in this season. I played my EP Monk again and forgot how fun he was. Now he can be even stronger!
Built this yesterday after rocking a Inarius Generator build for awhile. This build was a ton of fun but wasn't doing the crazy damage i expected. Then i realized i had some BS item in the weapon slot in the cube. I put the correct item there and this build came alive. Thanks for the build, rocking it this afternoon and loving it.
I find that the Scythe of the Cycle drains the Bone Armor duration WAY too fast. It can really get you killed alot. A safer choice is probably the Trag-Oul's Corroded Fang.
Build is great below GR 75, past that you start to feel the lack of damage, and I've used this one a lot. Still, you are very tanky overall, probably one of the most tankiest builds you can use as necromancer. So, survival? 9/10, damage? 6.5/10, if you want to start killing faster then I recommend you a variant with bone nova, or just keep farming your way out to LoN build. Good video, keep it up.
Thanks a lot for all you devotion and your great videos !! Just a remarque, I don't find that corps lance is dealing more damage than blood nova, even with land of the dead activated. Even on single target.
I was wondering what is recommended to put onto the follower and what is the token you are referring to that renders the follower invulnerable? Thanks!
Is there a LoN variant of this? Alot of the power of this build is from the two leg gems with the bone storm the blood nova/corpes Lance is just to help with high HP single targets.
I played a little with your 70 starter build. I like it, but I found Essence generation to be a little tight. What are your thoughts on swapping Reaper's Wraps in for the Nemesis Bracers? I know the Nemesis Bracers are preferable overall, but I find the possibility of an Essence boost tempting.
So I've been using this build today since I finally got all the pieces. I have to say corpse lance is utterly useless for a damage boost. I just pump out blood novas and they do 6X as much damage off a rift guardian as corpse lance does. I've decided to opt for simulacrum for now, not sure of the iron rose blood nova applies to it though
Did you make sure your target was affected by the 6pc set bonus though? If you're missing out on the 10000% bonus damage then obviously corpse lance will lose out...
you might aswell use it at the start of the rift guardian to boost the crit chance and 2 shot him but yeah overall not that usefull since u just blood rush and siphon soul
Actually, got a bit further with my own equipment collection and you're right, it doesn't really do all that much... it seems all that it's for is to avoid having your bone armor run out because of the Scythe of the Cycle... Maybe I'm just not good enough, but I hate using the Scythe of the Cycle anyway, way too easy to lose your bone armor and suddenly have only a quarter the toughness. I was thinking of trying Reilena's Shadowhook (don't have one yet), which should synergize well with Simulacrum - Reservoir. Probably a little less damage while you're not using Simulacrum, but I like not dying :+) edit: And of course, right after that, the game gives me a primal SotC... RNGesus sure has a sick sense of humor :P
@ArcherofDawn Yeah, I realised that later too... somehow I got it in my head that Reilena's was 1handed, even was trying to get it by upgrading 1h scythes for a bit which obviously didn't work LOL >_> Honestly, with SotC, I really don't like the way this nova build plays. You burn through your Bone Armor way too easily and when it's gone you're really squishy. And if there's no crowd around it's hard to get your stacks back. Even with the perfectly rolled primal SotC, well, the damage is nice, but it's just too much hassle. Right now I'm using Trag'Ouls Corroded Fang for the damage buff on cursed enemies. It's not as much damage, but it's easy farming. I'll probably switch to a singularity mages build later on to push higher GRs (which luckily can still use that juicy primal SotC I got and doesn't burn through your bone armor nearly as fast).
If you use Traguls fang you get the 200% damage boost cus of your curse aura, and dont lose your bone stacks. this also lets you take blood is power passive off as you dont need bone armor cool down, and replace it with spreading malediction for a little more damage.
rhykker, is this build still viable for GR grinding? I used your build here, farmed all the gear and it was a blast but wanna make sure it is still decent .
Just did a Grift 75, the boss was so hard to kill.. Also you didn't talk about the 3the gem? I asume Bane of the stricken, since it'll help alot on the RG..
First time ever playing a necro. I've been away for so long and just got the eternal collection on ps4 pro. So far I love the necro early on. spells are really cool and effective, but i have no idea what i'm doing as far as builds lol. i just want to be good enough to get the season 17 necro set before it's over. the set looks god-like
I would recommend Simulacrum (bone rune) over Lance. Then apply the skill that gives you 4 secs immunity. This gives you a triple nova for 4 seconds unchallenged. Between that and Land of the Dead, you have good backup for elites. Also I am using the compass rose and matching neck. I don't have your ammy yet.
I've used slot of the characters and my favourite was the wizard it was strong and fun but I wanna start the game again, is the necromancer a good character?
Its a little less straight forward than most other classes. Aside from the build in the Video i would compare it to the witch doctor in terms of playstyle. But its fun.
I absolutely love this build. BUT if you guys want to clear t16 super fast, I definitely recommend swapping out Convention of the elements for Brigg's Wrath. You'll be pulling mobs in all the time and killing so many. However, Convention of the Elements is much better for single target.
Early season necro I just use command skeletons and go full spam corpse explosion for fun lol dump junk stat gear, all sockets, frail aura for early kills, skele archers for atk speed boosts/single target. Explode your way to Inarius. Might switch out the frail aura for land of the dead now that you mention it though. Free explosions sounds nice.
So my iron rose still shows a 50% chance.. Do I need a new item to roll 100% chance? Great video! Thanks, I'm playing necro en and looking forwards to this Edit: the iron rose is on my non seasonal
@@MystiCalBEING89 I can do about 65 with inarius, and slowly pushing to 70, but have been burning out on necro due to shitty drops, so taking a break by getting my 1k storms monk to gr100.
What about replacing corpse lance and land of the dead by simulacrum and death nova? the corpse lance does nothing at all and land of the dead is just a big freeze. simulacrum requires you to have death nova/blood nova in the skill bar to work, but it allows for an insane boost in damage on the guardian.
Nalaro blood and bone. But I’m moving away from that build in favour of the Inarius scythe generator build. It actually does a lot more damage by a huge margin
@@jeangodecoster Hi, sorry, I'm also happen to be interested in that Scythe generator build. Hows the build looking itself? Are you using Icy Vein's version or maybe got a D3 planner link to take a look? Thanks!
Wolryr Icy veins build. I find it extremely squishy though. Damage is insane (300-400B orange crits) but I get oneshot by rift guardians at GR80. I’m now playing LoN singularity mage build. I’m lacking some equipment to do the icy veins build, so I use blood golem with illusory boots and the golem gloves instead of blood dash. Less mobile but I need it to keep my essence regen steady
Is there really much of a difference between Cycle and Corroded Fang? I just dislike Cycle eating away at Bone Armor, since its such a big damage reduction component. Also, what do you think of using Pain Enhancer and Molten Wildebeest's Gizzard with Bane of the Trapped...is Esoteric Alteration simply better as far as keeping alive in the early moments of a run when you don't have stacks of Bone Armor? Finally, is Briggs' Wrath a good idea at all? I kinda like it for creating density to make the novas more useful, but it has screwed me sometimes with certain affixes. Like this kind of build a lot, and learning more about it should help me play it better, so thank you in advance if you decide to answer!
I personally will probably go Corroded Fang cause I also don't like the Cycle eating away at bone armor. I prefer mirinae over pain enhancer personally, I'll probably be throwing it in instead of powerful. Depending on how my survival feels I might throw pain enhancer in over esoteric.
I started the season with this build and while it is quite fun to play, single target damage really does begin to suffer due to the Bloodtide Blade's multiplier. I did complete a gr 70, but it was difficult due to monitoring the uptime of Bone Armor on the RG.
The season tweaks can surface builds that otherwise might not be competitive. Yes, the game is repetitive but can be fun to optimize (does not appeal to all people).
Change LOD to simulacrum cursed form, and corpse lance to grim scythe frost scythe. Switch life from death to spreading malediction. Then change your gem from esoteric to bane of sticken. Then use haunted visions. Put convention of element to cube and change your ring to briggs warth. Then last thing put diamond to your head. Try it 😏
Wait, what is the secret to keeping bone armor up? You mentioned a trick to help, and I'm having trouble with my BA getting knocked off before the cool-down is complete.
Yeah same...I'm really conservative with my attacks and always blood rush my way into the center of mobs to trigger BA then attack...What's the actual trick?
Can I ask you a quick question? Season 18 blood Nova it says you are supposed to cube bloodtide blade and use scythe of the cycle. I have a legendary scythe of the cycle and a ancient bloodtide tide, can't I just use the bloodtide blade and cube the scythe?
I think for a fresh 70, a mage build with 1 ancient would be better with the LON buff? Getting an ancient pair of reaper wraps should be pretty easy at 70.
During the gems overview, you fail to mention anything about putting an Emerald in your weapon (although that's obvious), but also about the third legendary gem. Your dplanner shows using a Bane of the Powerful, but this build suffers MASSIVELY against Rift Guardians and seems like it desperately needs a Stricken later on--but either way, you don't address this at all. In addition, you say to have impossible stats on the Wisdom of Kalan. Wisdom of Kalan always rolls with attack speed and primary stat, it's impossible for you to have a crit/crit/element/socket Wisdom of Kalan. So what are we looking to do with it? Do we roll off the Intelligence or the Attack Speed? Does that change depending on amount of Intelligence we already have? This is true of rings for this build as well, because Krysbin's rolls with Attack Speed and primary stat, so crit/crit/damage/socket is similarly impossible. This is also true of Unity (which you don't explicitly say should be cubed; you mention Aquila Cuirass and Bloodtide Blade separately, so it's easy to believe that you're not continuing the thought as "cube Aquila Cuirass and cube Unity") You neglect to mention part of what makes Land of the Dead: Frozen Lands so powerful is that its freeze also procs Krysbin's Sentence. Similarly, there's no mention of the fact that your best operation is, even during Land of the Dead, to swap back to using Siphon Blood Nova during the Physical window of your Convention of Elements, as during that window it will do FAR more damage than the Corpse Lances, especially since it'll also still benefit from the Corpse Lances having applied Brittle. You also don't talk AT ALL about running out of Bone Armor. Your Blood Novas consume duration from your Bone Armor due to the effect of Scythe of the Cycle, essentially capping your number of Blood Novas per Bone Armor cast. This makes CDR much better than Attack Speed, especially when it comes to the Paragon points. Attack Speed has a pretty harsh cap to its effectiveness. I'm actually not sure Swift Harvesting is GOOD for this build, since it doesn't effect your Corpse Lance, just the Siphon Blood Novas (which can run out). On the matter of Paragons, why bother taking Resource Cost Reduction before Gold Find? It does nothing! Gold Find is unimportant, sure, but RCR is literally useless. You mention to use a Unity if playing solo but don't go on to mention what to use if NOT solo (presumably Lornelle's Sunstone... which is also incredibly valid for solo play). Rhykker, my guy, this video seems VERY poorly proofread and fact-checked. You're a great content creator and I expect more from you.
I'm grateful that Blizz is still tweaking legendaries, but I'm kinda disheartened that even with buffs to nova support items you still use LotD and CL. Feels like too much of a design flaw, especially when it overshadows iconic D2 skills like Corpse Explosion and Bone Spirit.
Does inarius effect your pets damage? How would I found out siphon blood breakpoints for number of attacks. Would bane of the stricken stack pretty fast? Would Siphon and the blood nova it procs be two stacks each hit? Replace bane of the powerful with bane of the stricken. Also do the weapon that gives you extra damage to your instead of losing bone armor time.
Yes the bone storm affects the damage of your pets. I'm currently using an Inarius plus Jesseth build that is allowing me to farm with relative ease to get up to the higher rift levels. Finally got an enforcer to boost the skeletons damage output.

Just did a Grift 75, the boss was so hard to kill.. Also you didn't talk about the 3the gem? I asume Bane of the stricken, since it'll help alot on the RG..
He actually had Powerful on in this video.
@@skillzkill1 Ah okay, thanks. :D
Are those builds usable on consoles? (switch)
However, Convention of the Elements is much better for single target.
is it just me, who cannot reach the build through the link at d3 planner or is the site down?
Early season necro I just use command skeletons and go full spam corpse explosion for fun lol dump junk stat gear, all sockets, frail aura for early kills, skele archers for atk speed boosts/single target. Explode your way to Inarius. Might switch out the frail aura for land of the dead now that you mention it though. Free explosions sounds nice.
isn't scythe of the cycle worthless to this build? since death nova won't be used?
Is anyone using this build in 2021, is it still viable?
What are your Audacity settings please? :D
So my iron rose still shows a 50% chance.. Do I need a new item to roll 100% chance?
Great video! Thanks, I'm playing necro en and looking forwards to this
Edit: the iron rose is on my non seasonal
Then you need to find a new one if its on your non seasonal because item changes only affect new drops.
quick question: would a non seasonal variant of this build be the same?
Yep!
great, thanx. so lets see which GR is possible with this build and 3500 paragon :) 110-115 i would guess.
How does the blood tide blade increase blood nova damage?
Blood Nova is a rune for Death Nova.
Is the grim scythe variant on par with this or is it left in the dust? It's my fave Inarius build.
Grim Scythe thorns is better than this for GR pushing :)
is the spam summon mages build still good
I use it. It's very good. But its limited it seems.
@@brocafseth1736 what gr can u do?
@@MystiCalBEING89 I can do about 65 with inarius, and slowly pushing to 70, but have been burning out on necro due to shitty drops, so taking a break by getting my 1k storms monk to gr100.
What about replacing corpse lance and land of the dead by simulacrum and death nova? the corpse lance does nothing at all and land of the dead is just a big freeze. simulacrum requires you to have death nova/blood nova in the skill bar to work, but it allows for an insane boost in damage on the guardian.
which rune do u use on simulacrum?
Nalaro blood and bone. But I’m moving away from that build in favour of the Inarius scythe generator build. It actually does a lot more damage by a huge margin
@@jeangodecoster oh. thanks, i might try giving that build a shot aswell.
Is this build good for season 21? I'm 2 items away from the complete Inarius set.
I started the season with this build and while it is quite fun to play, single target damage really does begin to suffer due to the Bloodtide Blade's multiplier. I did complete a gr 70, but it was difficult due to monitoring the uptime of Bone Armor on the RG.
Thx!
Havn't played Diablo 3 in like 4 years, but please be honest what changed other than gear, tweaks etc? This is an honest question
The season tweaks can surface builds that otherwise might not be competitive. Yes, the game is repetitive but can be fun to optimize (does not appeal to all people).
This build works on S25?
Can normal characters get season sets and stuff or is it all just for seasonal characters
Try it 😏
Hey Rhykker quick question my dude. If I'm playing in groups what should I swap unity in the cube for?
I got 5 minutes late for watching the new Slipknot Unsainted video and the new Trivium official audio Drowning in the Sound
Is there times for different areas for season 17 to start?? I live in Chicago, IL.. I keep checking but it has not started.. Thanks for the help...
If you're in Chicago, it starts at 7pm local time. (It starts at 5pm Pacific.)
5 pm PDT. later tonight.
@@NakanaiJP Thanks

Wait, what is the secret to keeping bone armor up? You mentioned a trick to help, and I'm having trouble with my BA getting knocked off before the cool-down is complete.
Yeah same...I'm really conservative with my attacks and always blood rush my way into the center of mobs to trigger BA then attack...What's the actual trick?
Would this a good build to morph into a LON Necro Thorns build?
Can I ask you a quick question? Season 18 blood Nova it says you are supposed to cube bloodtide blade and use scythe of the cycle. I have a legendary scythe of the cycle and a ancient bloodtide tide, can't I just use the bloodtide blade and cube the scythe?
Why boosting physical damage if our main damage came from that blood nova that is poison ?
because
How about the Kanai's cube?
Wait... did you say T16? I didn't see the patch notes yet... it's now up to T16???
ye dude
hey folks rhykker here
Heeey, this Rhykker, is folks!
I think for a fresh 70, a mage build with 1 ancient would be better with the LON buff? Getting an ancient pair of reaper wraps should be pretty easy at 70.
That is what Filthy Casual is suggesting (using LON until you get full set of six Inarius). UA-cam search for: C2Fe_VDo-90
Thanks
season started already? or is this just the patch
S17 starts today
Do we have to have blood rush
This still viable for s21?
Does having Death Nova on your skill bar with a different rune than Blood Nova apply that rune to the novas off Siphon Blood?
How do you get such perfect armor stats like Int+CritCh+CritDmg?
it's primal
Seems like my Corpse Lance damage went way down with this compared to the old build, what's up with that?
Does Focus/Restraint work with these? Or since the Blood Nova doesn’t actually spend essence does that not trigger?
This is also true of Unity (which you don't explicitly say should be cubed; you mention Aquila Cuirass and Bloodtide Blade separately, so it's easy to believe that you're not continuing the thought as "cube Aquila Cuirass and cube Unity")
You neglect to mention part of what makes Land of the Dead: Frozen Lands so powerful is that its freeze also procs Krysbin's Sentence.
Agreed, 100%. Kills the immersion and the fun when only a couple of skills are viable.
Can you only get this stuff on seasonal?
I think it just makes it a lot easier as it's a guarantee during the season to unlock it.
What about Funerary Pick for the weapon?
If you don't play solo what is the best alternative to unity?
CoE - Convention of Elements.
@@Nekomancer1983 but he already has the convention of elements in the build
@@andrebarradas2040 Yeah, derped there. Then get a Stone of Jordan. Downside, you can't cube it. So, get some CoE or Krysbin to cube.
Finally got an enforcer to boost the skeletons damage output.
this is pretty much what i run but im having alot of problems with survivability
