in the mid eighties I rode a built 78 kz650 that no one in my town could out run...broke my heart when I had to sell it (fool totaled it). Today I am restoring a and mildly modifying a 76 kz900. cant wait until its finished. Pulse races just thinking about it. Everyday rider is a Connie 14, but I want the Z running....BAD.
In 1985 I turned 18 and bought my first '76 KZ900. It had been my dream bike for 8 years prior because of my uncle and his friends all rode z1's & kz's. I rode it to trade school for the next 2 years until the cam chain snapped and pistons met valves! I replaced it in '89 with a still new on the showroom floor, 1986 Eliminator 900. Later, I added a Ninja 1000R to the group. Eventually sold everything and switched to a Suzuki GSXR. Fast forward to 1999 and I built my first wide tire Softail chopper. I reworked the Softail 3 times over the next 14 years while owning several other American bikes from Buells to Street Glides. I've been riding for 37 years now and have owned and/or ridden many fantastic bikes but nothing has replaced the feeling of my first love! I've been binge watching everything KZ related on UA-cam lately & I'm convinced that I need my old bike back.
@@steverobbins240 Anything that bears the Kawasaki Badges is the pinnacle of performance! I too have owned just about every other brand there is and I keep and still Love all of the Kaw`s that I have owned! Been riding for 45 years...today, I say give me Kawasaki or I walk!
Around 1975, where I grew up I lived on a busy street in my town and there was some guy in town who had a 900. He used to roar up and down my street, I was 16, I fell in love with that bike. I could hear that unmistakeable sound when he'd go roaring by. Loved it. Plus the totally sexy badass styling. Never owned one myself, but I do own a Honda 2006 VTX 1800 F, the front fender, tank, and black engine to me resemble the Z's styling which is needless to say why I have one. Love the video. Appreciate the sharing. Ride safe.
