She's selling it for ridiculous amounts of money and people paid that because she originally led people to believe the chicken was a home made recipe from her restaurant. Only after people discovered the truth did she backtrack and finally fess to it being Popeyes Chicken and as a result has lost a ton of business and sales. The important part here is that she is using the chicken as one of the ingredients in her menu item, whether it’s in a sandwich, with waffles, or in a chicken salad, as opposed to just offering the same chicken by itself. The same law allows ice cream shops to use M&M, Oreos, and Gummy Bears in ice cream. You can also see a clear attempt by her to be transparent by walking past customers with boxes and putting “Pops chicken” on menu since they didn’t allow her permission to use full name.

How is this any different than the restaurants that order their food from a mass distributor. You can’t tell me every single chicken tender comes from scratch.😂

All restaurant chains Applebee’s chili’s fridays, all use same distributors...
It does when it is being advertised as being from scratch.

I struggle to see how it's "wrong".
Its not wrong, restaurants get their pastries from outside bakeries and no one has a problem with that so I don't see how using outside fried chicken and adding your own sauce and serving it your own way is a problem. Besides, if it tastes good, I don't see the problem.
Same
daxoze Say you make & sell food for a living, then I buy it from you & resell it as my own.
If said food gets contaminated or develops any problem, whose legal fault is it, your's or the original establishment?
Carrying food several blocks, then reheating it is just begging for a case of botulism eventually.
ive never seen Popeyes near white neighborhoods or upper-middle class neighborhoods so this maybe ingenious. I usually have to go to the hood to get it.

As long as honesty plays a part I don’t see anything wrong.
As long as she doesn’t try to hide it and pass it off as her own, then there is nothing wrong with doing this imo.
I literally got a Popeyes ad before starting this video 😂
she’s not getting those chickens for free she bought all of those and that’s okay.
This kind of thing happens all the time. I worked at a sandwich shop that bought their bread rolls from a local retail bakery. This is not a steamed hams situation
I know a mom and pop restaurant that purchases their gallons of ice cream from an ice cream shop and resells it to their customers as dessert or as milk shakes.
The aurora borealis!!!!!

I don’t see the problem if she’s open and honest to the customer about where it comes from?
Luis John Gemini Wow you sound like a reasonable, level headed person. That or you have enough extra chromosomes to build yourself some friends.
Marc Manahan it’s free publicity and it’s not a big restaurant so IS IT a big deal?
She’s not hiding it, there shouldn’t be any flak over it. It’s lazy reporting that’s causing the flak.
Hey, popeyes is making money. Shes making money. People eating mone- wait no, you get the point. Theres nothing to lose
Well said
I don't think this is bad because she's using the chicken as an ingredient, not reselling it on its own.
Luis John Gemini guessing you don't get the difference between an ingredient and reselling?
The manager knew she was using it. So I'm guessing she has permission.
Kiki in the video she literally said Popeyes wouldn't give her permission.
Swole Tommy Pickles she doesn’t have permission to use Popeye’s name so she uses Pop’s instead.
She doesn't have permission to sell it as Popeye's chicken, because then they're paying for her advertising and risk negative press if she screws it up. She doesn't need permission to sell it in her dishes. It's funny that a restaurant is buying food from another restaurant, but it's really not a big deal. It's not like she's trying to pass it off as gourmet at a 5 star restaurant.
Popeyes don’t offer the waffles so Salute to her she’s a Genius

I see nothing wrong , she's buying it herself and shes not selling it by itself for more 🤷 , and shes honest . I mean its good chicken so why not
Roy Logan I wondered about that too. Yes, the menu calls it pops chicken, but that's not actually outright admitting it is Popeyes chicken that's just renaming it...
Ella Hollingsworth it makes sense because it's copyright is she does . She's right that she needs permission to use the name
She resells the chicken for five times the price that you pay for it at Popeyes. That's wrong.
Polka's Wife nowhere did it say how much more it was sold for . And she's not selling it alone she's selling it along with more .
X Kyle. Actually youre wrong both ways. Read up more on this story. This video doesn't cover all the facts. She offered dishes that include the chicken as well as the chicken itself. She's selling it for ridiculous amounts of money and people paid that because she originally led people to believe the chicken was a home made recipe from her restaurant. Only after people discovered the truth did she backtrack and finally fess to it being Popeyes Chicken and as a result has lost a ton of business and sales. Why would anyone pay 20 dollars for 5 dollar chicken knowingly.
Sis owned that no problem lol Popeyes is good tho 😭😭
It's only no problem if she's selling it at Popeye's prices lol. If she's charging $15 for a $7 3 piece, she is ripping people off.
T.M. Will still issue bc she daily’s can’t get approved by Popeyes yet she still sells them
@@Davidg710 Nobody said she couldn't. Just because it's a rip off only means she can choose to rip people off. Doesn't change what it is lol 😂. Good luck to her and her scam 😂.

I respect her honesty truthfully
Like she says, she walks right through front door with it everyday. As long as she present it as her own recipe there's no problem.

Hey if she openly admits its from popeye’s I don’t see the problem here.
If you buy a computer some parts might not be from the computer manufacturer. This is pretty much the same thing, it’s kind of smart actually
You can also see a clear attempt by her to be transparent by walking past customers with boxes and putting “Pops chicken” on menu since they didn’t allow her permission to use full name.
difference is that you won't get salmonella poisoning, dingbat(s)
THANK YOU!!
So what is the problem? That is not any different than McDonald’s selling Oreo Milk shake or Hotdog stands selling store bought hotdogs....
Call it what it is. McDonald's doesn't call it McDonald's cookie shake they refer to exactly what's in it. If you want to sell Popeyes then do it but don't say it's your own recipe
@@JamesBen937 Did you even watch the video?
James BM She can’t call it Popeyes chicken because it’s trademarked and she doesn’t have the rights to it.
Your user should be changed.

Love her transparency. Majority of the stuff you buy from a restaurant is pre-made by a food supplier, so why is this all that different?
Why can't she fry her own chicken
NaturalBeauty0708 because she doesnt have to
Why can’t she make her own ketchup? Why can’t KFC raise and slaughter their own chicken. Why can’t YOU build your own house and computers? We need support from each other. If everyone did their own things, then we won’t really go far.
@@v7ran the fact that you compared frying a chicken and building a house is just straight up retarded. frying chicken is easy and he was just curious.
Jax Trần It’d be just as wrong if she was selling homemade ketchup that was really just Heinz. Most businesses don’t claim credit for it just as she can’t claim credit for the chicken she’s upselling to people
Jax Trần this isn’t supporting this is literally taking someone else’s gifted talent of making chicken then flipping it and making it again you.
uhh what is different buying pre-made food that is thawed and resold from vendors? You know, the thing a lot of major fast food and resturant chains do? Additionally the owner is transparent about its ingiredents... what is even this story.
This is what I was thinking. The only issue I see is that her profit margins will suffer by not being able to pay bulk for the chicken. Hopefully popeyes hooks her up lol

she bought the chicken she owns the chicken she can sell the chicken
This doesn't even make sense from a cost perspective. What the hell?
Xina Moira that’s not necessarily true. If you buy the chicken tenders in bulk, and up charge the price for 1 tender on a biscuit/whatever they’re serving, that’s a profit. If they’re serving multiple tenders per plate, yeah it doesn’t make sense. Unless the plate is just really expensive lol
Depends on how much she’s charging for their chicken, lol.
Xina Moira she’s probably charging outrageous amounts of money for her food.

If a restaurant can't cook simple fried chicken, run the hell away.
Vast majority of the food you get in any restaurant is pre-cooked, frozen or already made anyways, don't really see the difference.
There's nothing wrong, She did claim that on her brochure it says pop's chicken plus the manager probably knows that she's selling there chicken. This is my opinion.
Pops chicken is not saying Popeyes chicken which you can get for $2.99 or so. Wonder how much she's charging when the customer can just go to Popeyes and pop an eggo in the toaster? Hell, does she even make the waffle iron is it eggo? Hmmm...

Its not wrong if she doesn't say it's home-made
Restaurants serve frozen/precooked chicken all the time. It just so happens that _this_ chicken comes from another restaurant instead of a bag. This wouldn't hurt Popeye's business. She's giving them a lot of money herself. Plus, this creates buzz for both establishments.
Why is this even a vid there’s literally nothing wrong or deep enough here to make a vid on 😂
I don’t see the big deal. She’s paying Popeyes their full payment and she’s being honest with her costumers about it.
