While it would be hard to argue that any boat over 40' gets "good" fuel economy, this one is pretty good comparatively speaking and though it sounds counter-intuative, economy is actually better with the quads than triples of around the same hp. Check out Yamaha's performance reports yamahaoutboards.com/owner-center/performance-bulletins and look at 40-plus footers with larger triples nstead of smaller quads, and you'll notice that many of them post higher fuel burns at similar speeds. Strange, but true!
My grandfather has a Northcoast 315 which is amazing. 415 obviously is a huge upgrade and is a spectacular fishing machine!
