- Wolverine, Supercubs, and rugged Alaska all come together to make for an epic highlight reel of the trapping season. This is a highlight reel on the different successful sets I used for wolverine trapping in Alaska. At the end of the season I was fortunate to trap 9 Wolverine, 2 lynx, 3 marten, and 2 mink!

You kicked butt on the Wolverine, but most important you had a great time outdoors. Maybe Wolverine seat covers for the plane? Marten yoke covers? Last but not least a Lynx trapper hat.

Hi Isaac, great video highlighting your successful trapping season. Great ending, as well, with all your catches on display. The Wolverines sure had beautiful patterns in their coats and it was very impressive seeing them all together. The scenery in each video is sure beautiful as well, with all the snow covered mountains. Hope you have a great summer as well.
Thanks Ben!

Nice Job!!! Flying to check your traps seems a lot more fun that using a truck.
Agreed!
I love where's there not much talking but a lot of action
You did well today
Thanks Hoper!
I think you set a record on wolverine. Usually I see 3 or 4 in a fur picture. Be carefull and do the maintenance on that plane. I'm impressed with your bravery. Very serious game.
thanks!
Sweet video! I’m going to attempt trapping in unit 7 on the Peninsula this winter.
Awesome! Good luck. It’s a lot of fun.
What an awesome year you had. I really looked forward to every one of them. Keep it up. I'll keep watching.
Thanks! It was a fun year!
Awesome 👍
Very nice job it's been winter awhile snare or trap you know lynx, marten, or wolverine, never know how doing something until end season never knew or learning.
You are by far my favorite trapping channel keep doin what you’re doin
I know nothing about trapping. Love your posts. I was curious do the traps you catch the wolverines with, do they snap its neck or choke it out?
They choke it out
It's easy to envy your life style. Thanks for taking the time to share your flying and trapping adventures. 🏔️🌲❄️😁👍🏻
Glad you enjoyed it! This is obviously the highlights!
Super envious man. Awesome season, beautiful country. Do you do any hunting?
Hey Lance! I actually do more hunting than trapping really. Usually 4-5 trips in the fall around Alaska!
@@isaaclandecker907 nice! Do you guide? Or offer buddy trips lol
Not yet. Mostly I just do it for fun.
#wolverinewhisper
Congratulations great job.
Hahaha! 😂
This was awesome. I’ve really enjoyed the season recap video. I hope those wolverines fetch some good money. They had some exceptional crowns in that lot. It was an amazing season and I can’t wait more. Good luck and stay safe out there👍👍😎
Thanks!
Awesome dude good job!
Thanks!
Well done! A pleasure to watch all the footage! Thank you so much for sharing this!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Man I love your videos. Awesome scenery. You appear to be very successful with your hunts. Good going on the trapping. Well done. God bless.
Thanks 👍
Want to impress me trapping wolverines, have some yellow and blue spandex hung up where you skinned one. LOL. Seriously good haul on the trap line.
😂
Wolverine are gonna be shitting themselves from the mention of your name. Well done young man. Next you got to try some blind sets. And maybe go for wolf if u can.
Wolf is on the list for next year!!
Nice trapping, what kind of bait did you use?
Honestly, it’s a mix of everything. Salmon carcasses, fish heads, butcher shop scraps, carcasses from animals trapped, etc
Congratulations on your 9 Wolverines, 2.1 Lynx, 3 Martens, and 2 Minks!
Haha! 2.1….need to improve that number next year 😂
Very jealous
Where you at this winter? Hoping for more videos
Slacking!
terrific video! Your channel has quickly become a favorite! Best of luck next year - GOAL/'22-'23 = 14 wolverines!
We’ll see! Thanks
Awesome what do you use for bait
Honestly, a bunch of random stuff. Lynx, moose scraps, fish carcasses etc
👍
9 Wolverine and 2.1 Lynx. Haha! Do you ever see wolf tracks? How long have you been flying, and how did you get started? Congratulations on a great season and thanks for the videos. Very cool!
I do see occasional wolf tracks but it is sort of hit or miss. Maybe next year!
I started my first flying lesson when I was 19, but got more serious at Air Force pilot training after college. I have been flying the cub about 4 years.
So with all the flying to the sets, is there any revenue left at the end of the day? I mean most times you're flying in to set / check, but with zero yield. Then one wolverine for a set. Those furs must go for a tremendous amount of money to recoup all your (flying and other) expenses, I'm guessing?
Is that little super cub instrument capable?
Mine is not. I can only fly VFR. However, flying in IMC is not ideal in the winter due to icing anyways.
Great videos.
Was on a cruise in July to Juneau and Skagway,
How far are you from there?
Do ever run into bears?
Been trapping my whole life
Nothing better!
Congrats on a great season!
I trap out of anchorage actually so a bit further north. All the bears are generally in hibernation so I haven’t seen any. Trapping is fun! Glad you enjoy it too!
Congratulations on a Great Trapping Season Awesome Season Just Started Watching Your Videos Thank You For Sharing Your Trap Lines With Us All Blessings and Be Safe ✌️
What caliber do you use to dispatch wolverines and wolves
22LR pistol
Very nice, Would you mind saying your average price per Wolverine and Lynx? And I'd understand if you'd rather not. I trapped in the late 70s..$50 for red fox,$40 for blanket beaver,7$ muskrat, and $35 for mink? Its sad how low prices are now days, around here in MN.
You gonna be shooting any more trapping videos
Not for awhile. Perhaps mid January I try and set some.
Is there a bounty or government payment? (Here in Oz we get about US$10- for a fox).
Or is there a commercial value in the skins?
I sell a lot of them or bring them to the fur auction at fur rondy.
Ever come accross a live wolverine in a trap issacc
Not yet!
What size connibears are those in bucket set
330s
@@isaaclandecker907 Thanks
Look like they are Belisle traps. They have lots of deadly humane power for great strike force and clamping force. Best safety hooks on the market. They also Fit in milk crate better than conibear trap.
How often are you catching marten in those 330 sets. We have so many down here its hard not to catch a marten no matter what the setup is
in 2021 I caught 9 in my wolverine setups I believe. Last year I didn't have as many sets out, so I caught less marten. It is really common though. Better to put marten traps out for 2 weeks in an area and then put the 330s out.
How is it my friend I’m not sure whether I have told you or not but a friend of mine washes his coyotes in a little dish soap and hydrogen peroxide he says the hydrogen peroxide makes them lighter and the white whiter. It might not hurt to give it a try. Stay safe 🇨🇦✌️
Interesting idea.
Do you trap for just the fur or do you eat the meat as well
Just for the fur, skull, weenier bone, and use the meat for bait usually.
Hello Isaac
Recently I found out I have kidney cancer, so I had surgery they took 1/2 kidney. Had my 6 months CT and no sign cancer. Except for 2 12mm lumps in my lungs but they are not growing thank God.
Reason I am messaging you is simply how hard is it to fly a plane like you both have. I have no interest for flying near city's ect I want to bush fly exactly like in this amazing youtube jewel, except I want to bring my Brand 6new custom highbanker sloose Box. I need too get to places were the Rivers meet the ocean I am 52 and this has been a Dream of mine to be able to have the freedom to fly myself into remote areas and gold hunt.
There is more loose gold up in Alaska in the oceans then land excluding Australia.
I don't know how long I have and I don't want to know. Simply want to fly and have fun locating gold.
Well thank you for the video Absulootly amasing video real pleasure to watch for brief moment I had forgotten I had cancer.
Thanks again

Hey Sean! Getting a license costs around $8-$10K USD. Then you’d probably spend the next few months just practicing off airfield landings.
I’d guess for $60K you could likely buy an airplane and get a license. There are lots of programs around that are set up to teach people.
Good luck with beating cancer!! Sounds like you are well on your way to doing that. You have lots of gold to find!
@isaaclandecker907 Thank you for replying to my question to you, That is Huge in my books So So many of the so called famous here on Tube Do not Reply and as of late there Aragance has them Charging to View the so Called Good Content. That said, when Twitter first hit the public, I figured out the algorithm day 3 I had 200 follows and in Month 11 Thousand. Sadly, I was seriously hurt at work and required 4 surgerys from 2010 to 2014. My account was to show long hall trucking in westren canada ( reason for highway to hell on discovery Channel )
I also shared video and extream photos every day of the Canadian Rocky Mountans, but do to the 3 years of not driving and not paying attention to my Twitter account, it was hacked, and all followers unfolowed password changed I was devistated
Still am.
That's what I wanted to start back up soon as I received a Aviation license.
I have been researching school of flight. It's just a matter of saving up to pay for the training.
By the way kidney cancer they got all of it when they cut it in half. Sadly I have 2 12mm round spots in both lungs so. If I am going to do this I need to get the training sooner then later.
Well like I said thank you for replying shows your a honist solid Guy...
Take care
Thank you again
Sean
Well done! Trapping is a constant learning experience. Your hard work and dedication payed off. Next year 15 wolverines? 5 lynx? And a wolf!!!
Keep it up, love the videos.
Hopefully!
👏👏👏👏👏💪💪💪💪
✔️
hey what do you use to srtech the wolverine
Standard boards for stretching. You can get at your trap supply store
@@isaaclandecker907 thanks
Do you get martins too
I didn’t have any marten traps out but I did get 3 this year.
I mostly trap Martin
Sweet! Sometimes I feel like I mostly trap marten too because they always go to the wolverine traps!
Good stuff Isaac, you got the bug and that lasts a lifetime buddy. Only thing I regret is I didn't record my experiences as you other than writing a diary of sorts until later after I got my pilots licence in the 80's. That is a unique way to trap as it works so well in many, many ways to get to the fur and cover the area. Good luck with your ventures oh, just heard th wwhhhoooo from you on the wolverine catch, great! I save all the claws on lynx I catch and taxidermy them with a piece of rawhide as the hanging string and sell them as little mirror hanger for your vehicle or whatever, I had a pair in my plane looked dandy. I will send a pic of one to your email. Once you get your line established and the known hangouts of the species you're after can take what you want quicker, so more time to expand eh? How many days between checks average ya think? how's plane running?
Yeah! I really started making the videos so I could watch them when I get older and sort of relive the glory days.
Yeah! Figuring out the area on the line is the key. I went 1 time a week on average.
Just a thought for future videos. I really enjoyed everything about your trapping and your success. I understand how wonderful it is to be trapping these sometimes elusive creatures, but because I was forced to watching this using headphones so as to not disturb people around me, your (understandable excited) screams into the mic was quite deafening on the hearing. Otherwise looking forward for more videos, keep up the good work.
I just get so excited it is hard to contain it 😂
😲👍👍👍👍👋
Isaac, how much are you selling you wolverine for?
$450 tanned
@@isaaclandecker907 I will get ahold of you soon.
@@isaaclandecker907 do they happen to have there feet left on?
Yep
Anything for sale..
.full hid Wolverine
I have a few tanned that I could sell. Dm me
Trapping is such a disgusting way for an animal to die!
These magnificent animals don’t deserve this.
Hunt rabbit and deer which are over populating! Nature needs rare predators like the lynx and wolverines to shave off the deer population from spreading ticks!
There are no deer in this part of Alaska. I’ve never seen a tick in alaska either. So we are all good up here 😎
Do you trap wolves? That’s what I’d like to see less of, as they do so much damage! 🐺
I haven't....yet
Wolverine trapping highlights. Not so high for the wolverine.
Haha! True
You are a great trapper but flying in has to offset any profit.
Not much profit for me. I mostly do it for fun.
Have a hard time hearing you, and volume is turned all the way up
Love your videos I have no problem at all with scavenging taking it from dead animals, but honest extremely sad seeing the especially the Wolverine killed that’s such a rare animal I don’t think traps should be done for a couple of reasons number one there’s no need there’s plenty of food in the grocery stores number two there’s no way for you to know what you’re gonna trap what is an endangered animal wandered into one of your traps .
Thanks. Contrary to popular belief the wolverine is not endangered in Alaska. I have actually chatted extensively with wildlife biologists about these animals in Alaska. The population is very healthy. Just fyi but I do appreciate your concern. No one wants to exterminate a species.
