I show you the setup process and the pros/cons of having Wyze in HomeKit.
This works by using the RTSP firmware from Wyze and the Camera Ffmpeg plugin from Hoobs.

📝 Notes:
- You'll need to setup a Wyze Cam v2 or Cam Pan in your account first (doesn't work with v3 yet).
- You’ll need a microSD card (any size) formatted as FAT or FAT32.
- Once you put load the RTSP firmware on the Wyze Cam, you will lose access to Cam Plus for that camera.

- View all your HomeKit deices in one app
- View the live feed on the Apple TV
❌ Cons of having the Wyze Cam in HomeKit:
- No motion alerts from the Home app (still get from Wyze app)
- No 2 way audio
- No cloud recording, HKSV, or facial recognition
- No automation capabilities

Worked like a charm first time. Not sure how to setup additional cameras because all of the notes I found in Hoobs assume that the user knows a LOT about programing. These assumptions really hurt and make setup difficult for recreational users :-). Your video is great. If you took the time to do an additional video for subsequent Wyze cams, I for one would find it very helpful. In any case, thank you for THIS one !

Can you please make a video for adding Mqtt based motion sensor using camera-ffmpeg plugin in cameras with motion sensor feature on their native app? (Preferably on homebridge instead of hoobs)

Besides paying for this hoobs hub is there any way to see feed from Wyze cam on Apple TV?
get a eufy cam instead, cheaper than hoobs and native homekit support. otherwise you'll have to find another third party bridge that more expensive than eufy tbh

Does it still continue to have continuous recording in the Wyze app onto the SD card? Or do I loose that access?

Hoobs is just a commercial version of Homebridge. Only difference is that there isn't a device you buy, you would have to use either a Raspberry Pi or an old laptop or a desktop you can have running 24/7.
Just download the same Camera FFMPEG plugin and add the RTSP stream from the Wyze Cam.

Wyze 3 is HomeKit compatible, how do we add it?

Unfortunately not since it’s just a life stream and doesn’t support HomeKit features
its been a year any issues? any disconnections or outages?

More like jumping through hoops. I’m getting rid of all my Wyze camera due to their bs and unfriendly user approach.
Hey Ded, thanks for your comment. Yeah, since it’s not a native HomeKit there’s some extra steps to take. I will agree the UI is not so good but there are use cases for a cheap camera. Wish things were faster and easier to use in the Wyze app. Thanks for watching! 😊
