  • Presented by Julian Brooks, curator, Department of Drawings, J. Paul Getty Museum
Dr. Brooks studies the arc of drawing across Michelangelo’s long career, with particular regard to his distinctive choices of black chalk, red chalk, and pen and ink, and his mixed use of them. Setting the works in Michelangelo: Sacred and Profane, Masterpiece Drawings from the Casa Buonarroti in context, the talk will delve into the mind of one of the Italian Renaissance’s great creative voices.

I would like very much to watch this, but despite resetting my own screen resolution to 720p something is terribly wrong--it is incredibly out of focus, speaker included, visual mush. Much as I wanted to I could find no reason to continue beyond 1:21.

You are correct that resetting your screen resolution won't help. Unfortunately, we do not have the highest quality video reproduction equipment, and in this case, the focus was way off. I wish I could fix it, but we do the best we can to record our lectures with the equipment we have. Thanks for reaching out.

Wonder how much a sketch by the master would be worth?
