Im.ALWAYS very impressed with Japanese and how they take pride in theur work. Welcoming people is wonderful. As an American im embarrassed how we look in comparison with our railway system. Its old and we need new trains. The food is mid. Of course to add insult to injury-the prices are ridiculous. I love the train here. Everything looks great😊

I was amazed by many things, the beauty of its natural panorama, you know every time I saw a river, it was CLEAN!!!... crazy.. the Japanese people are very good at maintaining harmony, the service is luxurious, the food on display is very beautiful, ahh still linger in my head that the cleanliness of the city, the cleanliness of the river and the facilities available... amazing.. I was particularly impressed by the cleanliness of the city and the river. I had never seen a river so clean in my life. The water was crystal clear, and there was no trash or debris in sight. I was also impressed by the people's sense of civic duty. They were always quick to pick up trash and keep their surroundings clean. The harmony of the city was also impressive. Everything seemed to be in its place, and there was a sense of order and cleanliness. The people were also very polite and respectful. I felt very welcome in Japan. The service was also excellent. The people were always friendly and helpful. They went out of their way to make sure that I had a good experience. The food was also delicious. The presentation was beautiful, and the taste was amazing. Overall, I had a wonderful experience in Japan. I was impressed by the cleanliness, harmony, service, and food. Seeing the outermost cities and towns of Japan really makes me miss Japan even more, even if I visit Tokyo, Osaka and Kyoto 2x a year during my vacation leave at work. I am surprised that there are not room stewards who demonstrate the way to make the bed. Truly a luxury experience, a glimpse of a lifestyle beyond the ken of mere mortals. Someday, travel in most of the world will probably resemble something like this, rail travel that is quiet, smooth, and fast. Much faster than this, but getting there is a big part of this train ride. High speed rail will rival plane travel for time when short trips are made. Transcontinental trains will still take a day, even going 500 kilometers per hour. But luxury on a train is much less energy intensive than luxury on an airplane. You can get a lot more comfort for the same price on a train. Watching the townspeople turn out to wave at the train is really different, that is for sure. This train is treated like royalty!
I had a trip about 4 years ago. Experience enjoying good service. Food was not as good as I expected. Views sitting at the front were so good. I spent 750000 yen per person with my wife.

The Train Suite Shikishima had to be my favorite Japanese train. I'm from the United States, but I find Japanese trains to be superior in every way.
From what I’ve seen online, they do seem to be very classy and elegant - even U.K. first class, the Eurostar, the Orient Express is not even as classy and sophisticated as this
US trains are an embarrassment as are the airports. Too much money is spent on silly stuff rather than improving our dilapidated infrastructure.
