My spouse, who is an LMHC, loves doing his own private practice. The freedom to set his own hours (and days so he can do a split-week schedule) has been amazing for him! I hope it gives you the balance you need/want for work-life balance!

Congrats!! We are in the beginning stages of our private practice. Lots of questions! 😀Did you start off in a brick and mortar? How was it getting your first clients? I have more questions but I’ll wait for the next video🎉

Thank you! Are you working with insurance companies or cash payment only? How many clients can you comfortably see in a week? Is there another person in your office offering behavioral therapy or OT? Trying to balance good business and trying not to do too much that will effect the patient experience. Look forward to your thoughts!😊

So exciting, huge congrats!!! I’m actually going to start my CF at a private practice next month! I’m curious as to the benefits of starting your own practice. I would’ve assumed it would be more work and longer hours compared to working in a already established one.

Thank you so much! I think the benefits really depend on if they align with what you’re looking for personally. I enjoy the opportunity to have a flexible schedule for family life, I can make my own rules 😀, and I can choose to see patients based on my specialty and where my skills shine instead of seeing a more wide variety of clients. Those are just some of the benefits for me. It is ALOT of work don’t get me wrong but overall I’m loving it ☺️
