Love it!! Keep on being that positive energy!❤❤
nice jam. thanks for the help!!
A lot of those questions are usually answered in the program handbook which can be downloaded from the school's website.
I get confused with a double basal score. I don't which basal to accept. It's confusing.
Exactly what I'm looking into right now! Would love to chat with you!
And I would love to help you! You can schedule a time with me here: www.whirlwindstherapy.com/booking-calendar/slp-support?referral=service_list_widget if you’re interested ☺️
I had the experience of shadowing a speech therapist and it was fun! 😅I want to pursue it but the thought of not being able to work while in school is just 😭 Do you mind if I ask if you were able to work while in school?
Hiii! You should go for it! I had 3-4 jobs in both undergrad and grad school ☺️ they were part-time/ work study positions but even with doing them all I was able to make it work!
I love the quick turn around post 😍😂 I appreciate you so much! I will look into getting the book, so I can start building up my Spanish SLP vocabulary!
😂 I knew I had the book in my office, I just couldn’t remember the title. Like I said it’s free! Try it out and let me know if it’s helpful ☺️
@@jazzyoslp3.0 will do!
Where is the book information? I would like to get it.
I would love to get my hands on this book
Congratulations! Praise Jesus for these amazing opportunities and successes 😍 I’m trying to become a Spanish- bilingual SLP too! Do you have any practical tips on learning the language and merging both interests? For example, if I’m not completely fluent once I start my masters program, what would you recommend?
Thank you so much! I’m very grateful for my path, it gave me so many essential experiences ☺️ I would say the best thing would be to get some “real-life” experience with the conversational side. I had been studying Spanish for years prior to studying abroad without much conversational practice. Maybe joining a Spanish club or finding a Spanish-speaking friend to practice with could help a lot! As far as merging the too, I had a book that had a lot of Spanish terms for an SLP inside, I’ll have to find the name and share it! But overall, just use the skills you have (try talking around things to explain) and don’t be afraid to ask parents how to say something, it’s the best way to learn!
@@jazzyoslp3.0 This is amazing 😍 thank you very much for your advice. I would love to get the name of the book whenever you remember it :) Last question, were you in a speech pathology master’s program with an emphasis on bilingualism? Or did you become fluent after the program? I’m not sure if I’ll be fluent before I start my program, so I wanted to know if there’s a possibility for me to become a certified bilingual SLP after I graduate from a regular SLP program?
I’ll check it out in my office tomorrow! My program, Indiana University Bloomington, has a program specific to bilingualism but I wasn’t accepted actually. So I got all my training post masters ☺️ you can go to either program and still become a bilingual SLP so no worries!
@@jazzyoslp3.0 thank you so much! This is great news :) I’m beyond grateful that you took the time to respond to my questions. May God bless you and may you continue to prosper as you pour into the lives of others 🤍
Of course! I’m here to help ☺️ thanks so much! And I found that resource for you!
Did you take any Spanish language classes during your travel in CR & URY? I’m interested in SLP field and learning Spanish as well.
Same!!
I did! In Uruguay I went to university and all my classes were in Spanish for Spanish learners for a semester- that’s where I learned the bulk of my conversational Spanish. Then in Costa Rica I took classes during a summer immersion program with a small group of classmates from my university. My advice is to get as many “real-life” speaking experiences as possible. It made learning Spanish much easier for me ❤️
@@jazzyoslp3.0 thank you so much for this 🙏🏽
@@jazzyoslp3.0 thank you ! Do you know of any Spanish language schools with homestay ?
Of course!
I can't focus because the music is too loud and distracting but from what I saw, this would've been a great vid. :(
Thanks so much for this feedback! I’ll keep it in mind for the next one ☺️
Hey thanks for the video. What does 'Confidence Interval' mean....in simple terms :)
You’re so welcome! It’s essentially how “confident” we are that if we gave this same assessment to the same patient on a different day, that they would make a score within the range listed ☺️ I hope this helps!
THANK YOU
You are so welcome ☺️ thanks for watching!
Thank you so much! I'm doing my undergrad and we've just started clinics, and this has been extremely helpful!!!
You are so welcome! I hope my videos make your journey a little easier 😄
As an SLP who hasn't administered this in years and never liked the way it is set up, this was extremely helpful!! You presented information in such a great way for visual learning. Thank you!!
Oh yay! I’m so glad I could help out, this assessment can be a beast at times 😅
Sis, first of all Congratulations to you! And yes you are correct with your statements on every level. I am pursuing my Masters in SLP and i would say out of a class of 100 students only 4 of us were African American smh. The field can be very lonely and lets just say I'm experiencing everything you mentioned. I hope we can organize a club or an organization to help with the challenges we face with these issues. Be blessed and feel free to reach out to me. Thank you❤
And to you! We are a small but mighty bunch in this field and I am so grateful to have daily reminders of the impact we make 💕💕
Just found your channel, wishing you the best!
Thanks so much! Also wishing you the best 😁
Wtf is a child led therapy
Therapy where you take the child’s lead 👍🏽
Most of our field is not that hard to comprehend until a professor teaches it. This video is all I needed , and it made perfect sense for once.
😅 I’m so glad I could help!
This video was helpful , can you do CELF -P2 and the Arizona -4? 🙏🏼
Yay! I’m glad I could help. Will add it to the list!
Do you add upp all 1s and 0’s for all su test?
Your raw score is how many points you got overall 😁 double check with the manual as well for more explanation and examples 😀
Please do CELF P-2! And Arizona articulation test
Adding up to the list ☺️
Hello! Thanknyou for info!
Hello! You are so welcome !
That intro!!
Sometimes we need a reminder of how far we’ve come ☺️
I actually get it lol. I’ve struggled with understanding SOAP note since grad school smh. I just put everything in one box lol Thanks lady!
Yay! So glad I could help out, it’s why I’m here 😁
Thank you for this video! as a SLP student currently on a hospital placement this was extremely helpful and super clear! If you have the time I'd love to see how to administer and score the RITLS and any other standardised tests for infants? And any useful information about cleft lip/palate and how it affects speech and language development? :)
You are so welcome! I will add these videos to the list for sure!
excellent! thanks!
You are so welcome!
This channel is a gem I love it!!

Best of luck to you! No stress, I’m sending good vibes your way ☺️
I have my first VIVA tomorrow with a case using the CELF-5, this saved me. Thank you, this is incredible!
Oh yay! I’m so glad I could help! You got this 😁
Not me tearing up at your intro! I just got accepted into my #1 grad school choice for social work- before I got to even apply to the rest of the grad schools I intended to apply to 😂🎉
🤩wow, that is so amazing! Congratulations! Looks like you can relax the rest of the semester 😎😂🥳
🙏 thanks!
You’re welcome 😁
Apart from the useful content of your clip, I really like your smile and I would love to immitate that during my interview in 2 days
Wow, thanks so much 😁 I hope your interview went well!!

😁
Thank you so much for this video!! I have my SLP Grad interview this Saturday! I'm excited, yet nervous! ☺
You are so welcome! I hope it went well! I’m sure you did awesome ☺️
Thanks!
Not a problem ☺️
Some of my favorite learning moments with any of my kids is when I mess up or make a mistake and get to belly laugh with the kids. It’s such a good experience for them to see perfection isn’t what we are striving for AND it helps to strengthen rapport.
Exactly! When you focus on natural experiences and genuine connection, that’s when the kiddos learn the most!
This video was such a joy to watch from a perspective of someone who really wanted that and now i literally have it. I needed the energy of that video, thanks!
Yes! I’m so glad to hear that you got into grad school, it’s not an easy task! I’m glad that I could provide some good energy for you 😁
Hi! I’m considering going into speech pathology. I’m a little worried about whether I’d need to be good at small talk and getting to know people. I’m autistic and I’ve struggled with befriending clients in previous jobs. Do you think I need to be good at small talk?
Also, do you think it would be helpful that I’m fluent in American Sign Language?
I think overall the goal is to connect with you clients and you can do that with are without small talk 😁 you can just be yourself!
Hi <3 what kind of condition can have a child to use this toy?... I have to do a presentation with this toy at College.
Hi! Absolutely any child can play with these toys.
Please show us how to administer and score the CAAP-2
I’ll add it to the list!!
Do you have a GFTA-3 video?
Not yet! But I’ll add it to the list
Needed a quick refresher and this was perfect!
Awesome! I’m glad I could help 😄
Thank you 🙏🏾
Not a problem ☺️
Thanks for the video! Very helpful and orderly
Yay! I’m glad I could help out 😄
I love your videos, they are very informative! New subscriber here!
Wow, thanks so much 😄 you’re videos are awesome as well!
Thank you! I'm in my second semester of grad school. Reading the manual just doesn't click for me.
You’re welcome! I’m glad I could add this extra tool to your belt 😁
You're a lifesaver, thank you for making this!
Not a problem, glad I could help 😁
