- I always thought there must be some reason God made the Sweet Gum Tree and the aggravating Sweet Gum Balls that they produce! I think I may have found a reason. I hope you like the look of this Sweet Gum Ball Bowl.

Why not a foam core rather than solid wood?
I use wood core so I have something to chuck tightly in the lathe. I suppose it would be possible to use some foam. Thanks for your comment.

But.. I would feel bad because epoxy is not cheap sooo, because I rally love it? Do u think like a deep blood red one would look good with the sweat gum things
