Just the thing for the old garden bench to commode conversions.
My wife was not pleased but I pointed out the obvious advantages of those holes.
I hope you have a drinks table also!
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 👍
Great vid, as always Roger!
Young lads falling off the sofa thinking this came with free WiFi 4:12 🤣🤣
Great bit of kit!
54v? Jesus, I've only just finally completed my 18v collection.
Looks a beast.
Brilliant video rodger
Great video, thanks. Also, those apples look good!
Bumper year for the apples.
Great video, as a plumber been debating getting one of these. Definitely going to buy one now. Cheers👌🏼
@Adam Wood do you use this as your main core drill or just for tight spaces
@Adam Wood cheers for the reply buddy, going self employed soon so just getting kit together. I will look up the Milwaukee when I get a chance.
I will seriously consider getting the dewalt, I just didn't want to get an angled one and a normal core drill if one would do the job.
@Adam Wood cheers Adam, I'll message back here if I get one. Her indoors will never understand accept when it comes to spending. All the best mate.
I've used the milwaukee hole hawg or whatever it's called and that's a beast. This looks very good also
This is a beast, saw this at a tool show and it is a machine, saw dewalt show this on UA-cam and can be lethal if not careful it has some serious power, I guy a worked with wired in gps chips inside all his tools, can’t say I’ve ever had issues.
We could have done with one of those trackers because this tool was stolen from the site hut last week by (we think) a delivery driver. He was the only guy who entered the site but it is impossible to prove these things.
I have the Makita 36v version, it’s awesome.
Cheers Rog
Perfect for microbore through the joists 😋
Can have another hole next to it for the sparks to put the T&E
Very good tool's
What a beast ! Are they cup holders you put all over your bench 😬🤣. I had a Bosch ad before this vid 🤔😆🧱👍🏼
That bench is firewood. Bit of a shame really because it was a good mahogany trunk that got upcycled/downcycled.
Skill Builder 😉🧱👍🏽
This machine looks a big beast for drilling through the side of joists with the like of a 25mm auger bit and what is the length of the machine to the end of the side handle.
Great video, every new drill should get an e clutch because it will save your wrist
It's a fine beast. It's DeWalt so I bet there's not much change from £500
Any chance of a mitre saw showdown ? The plunge saw was so useful
monster
Time for a new garden bench I think😀 them apples will make a decent cider by the way.😉
Cider? That way lies ruin
I would still prefer the Bosch GSR 18V-60 FC with angle attachment. Is quite compacter, yet powerfull.
Great vid. With torque, are you saying @ 1:47 in, "struggle to get past 118 Nm's of torque" or are you saying 180 Nm's? Can't quite get what you're saying - but it's important to know.
Use it everyday without the side handle drilling thro joists and doing core holes and it’s absoloutky fine
Jack Smith what’s acceptable when going through joists? I have to run a shower waste through some joists to pick up the stack...
This will come in handy for my garage to glory hole conversion.
Big old unit that the apprentice will have sore arms after a day on that 🤣
Not the sort of tool you use all day long. I used to chain drill and chisel out holes in masonry. That was hard work.
@@SkillBuilder I dunno I've been on jobs where all day long one of them is drilling joists out with something like that drill.
Not sure I understand the reference to 54V. It is a 60v unit right? Does it lose 6v by going across the pond?
The way these tools are rated in America is slightly dishonest but they get away with it because your consumer laws are not that strict. The 60 volt is the charged voltage which is lost immediately upon firing up. We measure the operating voltage. The same goes for your 20 volt tools, we call them 18 volts because that is what they run at.
Anyone compared this to the dcd 460? I don't know which to buy for plumbing.
That’s some size o tool uv got 😹
My 1 year old drill keeps stopping LED keeps flashing .It won;t turn back on even with multiple switch pressing Running with full new 9 Ah 60 Volt battery .Drill is abruptly stopping even when drilling small holes 1 inch .Seems barely usable . Any ideas why it keeps stopping ? Disappointed with DeWalt
Looks like it's got a lot to offer. Interesting why Dewalt went with a keyed chuck.
All the larger angle drills tend to use keyed chucks.
@@SkillBuilder makes sense 😁👍🏻
Whats the difference between this and the other different shaped variant?? Is this one just newer? This one looks like milwaukee hole hawg, the other does not and is cheaper…
Hi Rodger - Do you have any videos for installing PVC Cladding for Bathrooms and Showers? Cheers mate.
Yes we do. There is a search facility on our home page but look here to save you the trouble. ua-cam.com/video/CMc1h2C9RDM/v-deo.html
😊👍
I keep having stuff 'disappear' on the job site.... very frustrating!
Nice drill, does it feel heavy with battery connected? Big machine.
Yes it is heavy and even more so with a core bit but I don't think there are lightweight machines in this league.
@@SkillBuilder I think the side handle is a bit awkward looking and a D style handle fixed directly behind the Chuck might be more comfortable. Having not seen it, just an opinion. cheers Roger.👍
How many holes for charge battery
Would this work with an 18v battery then?
No it won't fit
👍
Great ryobi video!! In a seriousness, you can’t beat a Milwaukee hole hawg in these situation.
Hole hawg has no where near the power of this dewalt
Just a shame dewalt dont make boxes large enough to fit the beast
That's a beast of a drill but come on most sparks and plumbers just as the Chippies to drill their holes for them 😝🔨
Not in the US. You'd get laughed off the job if you asked a carpenter to drill a hole for you.
@@mikemorgan5015 your lucky you dont work in the UK you can spend all day doing it on big jobs 🤦♂️🔨
That's exactly what the N stands for in the product code.
What did they pinch Roger?
A 54 volt cut off saw (like the Stihl)
Skill Builder scumbags 🤬
@@noskills9577 Nopw they have the angle drill as well. Not having much luck hanging onto this 54 volt stuff
@@SkillBuilder ahh mate - sorry to see you’ve had more gear nicked. Trades in this country are between a rock and a hard place trying to keep hold of their tools - insurance never pays out the full amount (if anything) and police aren’t interested. Better luck for the future.
Looks like it would be really, really uncomfortable for coring. It’s huge and when compared to a decent battery drill or impactor even with a flat bit, doesn’t look to offer any size advantage.
Maybe if your drilling A LOT of 60mm+ holes (v.rare) everyday then maybe of benefit otherwise just another tool to lump around.
Those dewalt forstner bits are awesome though.
This tool is a copy of the Milwaukee Super Hawg. The SH comes in two varieties. One with a key chuck like this one, and one with a 7/16 quik lok chuck for fast bit changes. They each have their advantages and disadvantages. They are amazing tools for heavy drilling. They are designed specifically for plumbers for DWV(drain waste and vent) rough-ins. Of course they can be used for much more than that. The original was the Milwaukee right angle drill, then the Hole Hawg, then the cordless versions came out. The oldies came with a 3/4 in pipe handle that was used to prop against studs and framing to keep from breaking your wrists if it caught a nail or got hung up. They were/are very high torque tools. There were no clutches or safeties. Those bits are called "self feed bits", not forstners. Forstners are for clean, flat bottom holes. These are for fast rough holes. They have a lead screw that pulls the bit into the wood.
How much
OUCH...560 £ ??? :)...I'll use my corded milwaukee...That thing's probably made in China too!
Shame the battery is rubbish for that job
9A/H work ok
Is it me or is it in ryobi Green???
It is your screen. Maybe it needs callibrating.
How many can I fit in a Wheelie Bin? ; ) en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hatton_Garden_safe_deposit_burglary
A glory hole driller. Nice bit of kit.
So you go out and spend plus of £350 + the battery and then fork out for the "Tag" so you can "FIND" it.
Some little scroat comes along a helps himself to it and UNSCREWS the tag.
Sadly you'll NEVER find your pride and joy unless the idiot puts it ebay or similar or you have a Milwaukee M18 FFN-502C Nail Gun in your hand as he picks it up lol
