Very good video, very slight correction, Pitman was in fact portrayed in the movie, however only appears in a couple of scenes as most of his stuff was cut. He also doesn’t appear with his iconic mustache.
Thanks for pointing that out.
I am pretty sure he was. There was one scene when Thomas Andrews is telling the Captian and the rest of the officers the news about the ship sinking. At one part it pans across the room and we see a man if Officer cloths with a brown mustache. This isn’t Ismay and it is the only time (I think) that we see an officer with a brown mustache. I believe this is pitmin somone correct me if I am wrong.
Edit: He also after Thomas Andrews says “There is water in the forpeak all 3 holds and boiler room six” This officer with the mustache says “That’s Right sir”
Again someone confirm who this is please.
I think it's meant to be engineer Jonathan Shepherd. The actor does look similar to his real-life photos. As a junior engineer, he would have been sent to the bridge to report the damage sustained from the iceberg.@owengifkins995
@@owengifkins995 I’m afraid that’s not an engineer, nor does he have a mustache, that’s ships joiner Hutchinson.
From what I understand what saved Lightoller was a sudden eruption of air from the vent he had been drug down towards which basically ejected him to the surface
The surge of adrenaline too as it helped him resist hypothermia long enough so he could make his way onto the upturned Collapsible B lifeboat and hold himself together alongside the other men on it until other lifeboats came back for them.
Excellent! Thank you for your amazing work.
Thanks for watching
Pitman was in the titanic (1997) but was a background extra, Also it is said Wide was washed off or Drowned but you got it right. Murdoch is also correct, Moody died by either being tangled by the ropes or Crushed by the funnel, he either drowned or crushed.
What a good promoter/manager, can certainly talk the talk 😊
I enjoyed it. Thanks.
Thank you.
@@nobshistoryengineering4421 there were always videos about individual officers but not like this grouped together in one video as far as i have seen very useful
The titanic miniseries also depicted Murdoch committing suicide
I don't think I saw this one.
You probably did not because it’s infamous
Wow
Lightoller and Boxhall survive that night during the sinking, don't know why there in this list.
They were officers, the video is about the officers.
