Katakuris face is no longer a weakness for him. At least that’s what implied at the end of the battle. He might not even have the scarf on anymore except for drip purposes
Yeah especially with the fact that he litterlay said he doesn’t give a shit anymore what people think also his reputation is just thrown out the window do to Flampe telling everyone on wholecake about his mouth so in reality he doesn’t even care anymore
Perospero: you might be able to make friends if you hide your mouth. "i dont want any friends if they laugh ill just beat them up ~katakuri he wore the scarf to complete his drip and protect his family
That moment was a really powerful one. That if you are insecure about something weird then you can never "overcome" it. Katakuri's power and abilities were several steps above any in Totland and really only eclipsed by Big Mom herself. Yet while that grants him respect from those that value his abilities as an asset. From more shallow people it is largely irrelevant. With shallow people like that trying to prove them wrong is pointless cause they don't care about what's right and wrong.
So it's actually NOT an oil painting. I go more into detail at the end of the video, but i thought about getting one made but decided to go with Stefan's digital art instead. Even so he put so much effort into it really does pass for a straight up painting.
@@Tekking101 I think you got it wrong here. Zoro was able to defeat King because he had his flames off when he used that Magma thing. King was defeated because he was careless or stupid enough to switch off his flames.
Honestly can we talk about how ridiculously badass the yonkou first commanders are? Marco, Katakuri, and King are insanely powerful characters with incredible nearly-hax level powers. Ben Beckman and Shiryu need to have some crazy powers shown off to measure up.
Regardless of who is stronger, they both win in the character design department. Especially Katakuri. I'm about as casual of a One Piece fan as you can get, but Katakuri's design is easily a top 50 manga character design across all genres/demographics.
The other factor that might affect the battle would be if Katakuri’s future sight could be used to help time his attacks to hit while King isn’t in defense mode; then most of Katakuri’s attacks would be somewhat effective. I’m pretty sure that Katakuri could figure out King’s defense mode tell relatively quickly; I’m thinking this makes it more 50/50 on who wins.
I was thinking he mentioned king being on fire all the time I am thinking if king is not doing the waiting game and gamble for a 50/50 he will be on speed mode most of the time so mochiboi would do some good hits while he is defending although how can you defend so strong attacks and fast ones and still be able to counter attack would be the winning factor

You forgot a something, Katakuri uses future sight not only ofr defense but also for offense, he could see that the attacks he make doesnt have a lot of effect in king before doing them, at some point he will understand that the fire is the clue, if Zoro could find that out Katakuri could do it, and the only way King could really beat Katakuri is changing to the form that makes him vulnerable, so i think Katakuri still have the advantage, it would be a really close fight, but in a long battle the future sight is way to OP because it lets you fight without wasting energy
I don't really see Katakuri damaging King even with his abilities in mind. His speed will eventually wear down as the fight progresses and in the end we have King who is unharmed and Katakuri who is unharmed with the difference that King is also a Zoan and a lunarian who can fight for hours without breaking a sweat while Katakuri is used to never getting hit and promptly overpowering his opponents that he will at some point end up tired. @@eneveasi Zoro's damage output Def higher. W the fire, I image since Zoro was able to dodge, and out-maneuver the fire at times, I feel Kata wouldn't have trouble doing the same. With Buzz Cutt mochi He could also elude snakeman who's one of the fastest attacking characters we've seen in the verse at this point, he can move quickly. Grilled Mochi may provide some resistance to flame, but def not Kings best no doubt. You can only dodge to an extent tho, and he can't cut through it the way Zoro could, maybe defend himself with mochi and try to elude w future sight. I'd take king 7-8/10 vs Kata realistically but I think it's closer than most others. Oda hit on both of them though great two great characters overall for real with sweet designs.
I think they might both respect eachother enough to leave the scarf and the gimp mask alone. If one of them didn't, I think the other would immeadiatly burn the scarf or tear off the mask, and I think any advantage would be negated immeadiatly.
6:59 I don't think King hid explosives in his suit? My impression was simply that he countered via Lunarian fire manipulation when Zoro stabbed him and he just exploded. Basically a natural counter defense when you attack him. Is there any official source stating this that I'm not aware of or are we assuming it because Zoro pierced something and was confused for a second, so he pierced something other than King?

i feel like Katakuris future sight is kind of the perfect counter to Kings fighting style. i mean, King is kind of a brute and a trickster. He relies on his overwhelming physical abilities to beat most opponents - and tricky enemies, such as Zorro, he is going to try and use cheap tricks on in order to win (e.g. his swordcutter blade). Katakuri on the other hand is someone who mostly relies on his technique and fighting style - and if someone were to try and brute force their way through him, then he'd simply evade all incomming attacks and counterattack using his future sight until said foe is defeated. But at the same time Kings tricks wont work on him thanks to that same ability, because he knows they are comming before King can use them, so the entire element of surprise is gone. and to put this in One Piece quotes "even rain can take down a mountain, if it hits it long enough" (Law / Kid when fighting Big Mom), so simply because King cant land a strike on Katakuri, Katakuri wins. evading attacks entirely is always better than tanking them efficiently.
We don't know Kings top speed compared to snake man Luffy so he could theoreticly even be fast enought to get past future sight. I mean with that logic in mind Katakuri wins every fight he is in. The simple fact that King can damage Katakuri but Katakuri can't damage King is enough. If you think back to G4 bounceman vs Katakuri you can see that Katakuri saw Luffys attacks coming but simply couldn't avoid them and i don't think that King is slower than G4 bounceman
I think Katakuri would’ve definitely do a lot of damage to king seeing how he would know every time king would turn off his flames by using future sight
@Mr. xD However, that same quote also applies to Katakuri. His Future Sight isn't infinite, as Luffy himself stated that Katakuri's Future Sight would weaken over time, which Brulee even corroborated. If it was an extremely long fight that might last all the way to 5 days like Ace vs Jimbei, chances are that Katakuri's Future Sight would weaken faster than King would with his defenses.
@@eskilberglund2003 King's "base form" seems to be the Flame Mode, since he was always in his Flame Mode even when he wasn't in battle. In fact, he only ever started switching to Speed Mode when Zoro first used Advanced CoC coating, which could be explained by the fact that he needed the extra speed to dodge Zoro's attacks. This is further corroborated by Zoro when he was asking King why he was blocking his attacks even though he was in his Flame Mode, which implies that Zoro can damage King through his Flame Mode which is why King is blocking in the first place.
Luffy 'beat' Kat by using snakeman and learning future sight. To beat his future sight he had to learn future sight. Kat was dancing through snakeman that was accelerating and tracking him with future sight. I got kat
Snakeman was a sitting duck in their fight. Katakuri dodged because he had a logia body and only had to dodge punches. Katakuri could dodge a flying King, but has no way of actually countering back at King. You never saw Katakuri catch a punch from Snakeman but only block a few hits out of dozens that Luffy threw out that did land on Katakuri. The main point is that Katakuri got hurt a bunch of times by Snakeman. Not as simple as Katakuri "danced around it". The first time he reacted, he barely reacted to a normal attack from Snakeman and he still took the hit while Haki'ing up.
@@YightLagami it seems ur trying to downplay kat, he may have gotten hit by snakeman a few times but thats nothing compared to the hundreds of other punches he dodged. Once he learned how it worked he dodged majority of the punches.
@@n3onnova564 the problem is when people think Katakuri is on another level of speed to King. Again, Kat can only keep up due to FS and his logia body to dodge. His actual movement speed or travel speed isn’t on that level. Due to Katakuri's future sight, wouldn't he be able to counter attack King whenever he turns his flames off for the speed boost, and effectively deal damage that way
Really hard to say. Zoro had to seemingly use kings haki infusion with Enma (which was strong enough to damage Kaido) in order to beat King so it's hard to say if Katakuri would have that kind of stopping power. Based on what we have seen, the Luffy that fought Katakuri would *not* be able to deal any significant damage to King
@Scott Avrit King's "base form" seems to be the Flame Mode, since he was always in his Flame Mode even when he wasn't in battle. @@Masculai1z Wrong Luffy would deal a lot more significant damage to King. The issue here is Haki not power. Luffy's power is still one of the best in One Piece, even when he was unable to injure Kaido. But Advanced armament haki means that even if your attack is weak you can injure Kaido. That is why the scabbards were able to easily injure Kaido... it was not because they had more power than Luffy, but because they had an armament haki that allows them to do so. So yes, Luffy in Whole Cake, or even in Dressrosa would have been able to deal significant damage to King in gear 4th. But King has two modes... an invulnerable one and a quick one... in the invulnerable one Luffy would be unable to injure him but in the quick one... Luffy would be able to injure him and a loot
@@andrejosue98 Really not sure how you came to this odd conclusion. Haki increases power thereby naturally increasing damage output, they are not mutually exclusive, this is the entire reason why people use haki when they are not even fighting logia users, because it increases power. The scabbards *did not* really injure Kaido he later admits their attacks were shallow and didn't really do anything. He then proceeds to spank them like he was their daddy Luffy did not have Kings haki infusion or armament haki emission/internal destruction when he fought Katakuri and he still won (albeit barely) , while Zoro *needed* Kings haki infusion WITH ENMA and a brand new sword style in order to defeat King, Luffy simply did not posses this kind of damage output. Furthermore, keep in mind I never said Luffy would not be able to *injure* King, I said he would not be able to deal any *significant damage* this applies to either whether he is vulnerable or invulnerable form due to his Lunarian heritage and being a zoan user. Gear 4 would knock him back, but with King you need a lot more than that, he would tank everything Luffy would throw at him until G4 runs out and then he gives him the Sanji treatment
@@Masculai1z The scabbards did not really injure Kaido... they just made him bleed and pierced his body... They injured him, it is just that Kaido would not die from attack attacks which is different lol. Haki increased power and advanced armament haki increases the "pierce" ability. That is why a stronger attack can't injure Kaido ( G4th attacks did not draw any blood on Kaido), but a weaker advanced armament haki attack can. ( a normal stab draw blood from Kaido) You are still wrong lol. Yes Luffy did not have advanced armament haki or conqueror coating... when he fought Katakuri but he still had one of the strongest damage output out of every character in One Piece. What he lacked was the pierce ability that advanced armament gives him. And Zoro used conqueror coating against King but he did not *need* to use conqueror coating which is different. Again King in his normal form is vulnerable to attacks... so yes, Luffy did have the damage output. Probably only Yonko or Admirals ( and Mihawk or Garp or Rayleigh) had a higher damage output than Luffy in g4th. ( without advanced armament/ conqueror coating) Now with advanced armament and conqueror coating Luffy is comparable to Yonko in damage output. But Luffy would still have enough strength to injure king without his invulnerable state in Whole Cake or Dressrosa. Zoan abilities don't give regeneration or fast recovery unless you have awakening... and King did not show awakening. Without this, Katakuri will easily injure King.
I think the fight would be pretty even. Katakuris future sight would probably force King to use his "speed form" to even hit him. And with that he would also lose his extreme defense. And then I think it would be a pretty even matchup, depending on how fast Kings speed-form actually is. As we learned in the fight between Kaido and Luffy kaido was still able to hit him because of his attack speed, even though luffy saw the attack coming. (Talking about the fight on the rooftop). If Kings form is still too slow for future sight, Katakuri takes this home. If it is fast enough to get atleast some hits in, I have no idea who would win this fight.

if Zoro managed to hit King, Katakuri can hit King, i don't understand why Katakuri's attacks would do nothing, i'm sure that during the battle he would come up with a strategy to hit him just like Zoro did. In my view both King and Katakuri have got the advantage of not getting damaged by attacks, one because is super resistant and the other because he can dodge most attacks, so in that situation is not so clear who would win, I think Katakuri would bring it home, he has far more techniques and skills at his command. Edit: even Zoro didn't know how to combine conquerors to armament, he didn't even know he had conquerors! he figured it all out during the battle. These people here learn as they go.
Zoro is alr far faster than katakuri so that’s why zoro can he is reacting yonko attacks and counter yonko like kaido with his dragon twister reacted to bigmom about to scorch luffy when he was miles away from bigmom blitzing kaido two time with asura and with his oni giri with kaido the speed deference is there for sure kat doesn’t have the attack power or the speed if your far faster than kat you can get through his future site it’s not invincible kaido blitzed luffy using future site and luffy states it him self he was using it but kaido attack was to fast king is taking attacks from attacks from zoro off the roof that scared kaido and king was taking all of zoro attacks kat literally loses
The biggest problem is you can’t just give CoC Coating to Katakuri. We have to go off the feats they present in the story. Based on Katakuri Damage Output it would be very difficult to damage King enough to put him down while still having stamina. King probably won’t be able to tag Kata but eventually Katakuri will slow down and King will be able to catch him with something. That’s the Ancient Zoan biggest advantage is the ridiculous durability and stamina you get.

@@UnexpectedWonder Katakuri certainly has more advantage against King, they don't look even, even though they are from similar ranks. It's not only because Katakuri has the vision of the future, in reaction speed and displacement along with his attack also Katakuri surpasses King. Neither the G2 and G4 Boundman came close for Luffy to hit Katakuri, only the Snakeman, the maximum expression of Luffy's attack speed, even so Katakuri did not let himself be overcome, he followed Luffy's rhythm and even prevailed. King although he is fast, not much, Zoro could tell just by seeing the fire disappear and he reacted, instead of having been Katakuri, Zoro could not not breathe. Another super important factor is the ability in battle, Katakuri was equal to or better than Luffy, while King was outclassed by Zoro from the start. If Luffy himself was overwhelmed despite becoming stronger and more skilled from fighting Doffy and Cracker, how are you going to believe that King will do anything? Katakuri with the trident and armor haki, in the long term wears King down and that Katakufi himself recognizes that he knows about armor haki levels, according to him he also surpassed Luffy in that, therefore he did not rule out Ryoy in him trident or fists in the intensity of the fight. King has nothing to do with Katakuri
the issue with using zoro as a measuring stick for fights, is that zoro always wins by connecting 1 slash while the rest of the fight he doesnt connect or the slashes are completely ineffective , while other fighters use multiple hits to wear down opponents. So talking about durability we cant never know if his opponents can take multiple hits or not
Kats perception is so great he would notice King's ability much quicker than Zoro who gets lost so easy that it's almost sad and claps him mid diff. Snake man blitzing King. HE doesn't have any good Haki feats either.
Yeah. I think he is so dedicated to Kaido his will is basically Kaido's. Or whatever Kaido wants more or less. We learned that Katakuri has his own will because he secretly doesn't really care for Big Mom. Which, I'm sure many of her kids on the crew feel that way. With that being said, I wish we had more of Smoothie!!
I agree. Conquerer should be a mark of personality. Not just a free card to making a character strong. I also don't want Zorro to have conquerer's Haki. Zorro just doesn't have that kind of personality. He's very reactive and a follower by nature. Conquerer's Haki should be a sign of a leader. Conquer's Haki should be more centered around charisma than anything. I would like for some weaker characters to have it too. A good one would be Orlumbus from the grand fleet. I mean in Dressrosa he several times showed his strength of command as he issued orders to the soldiers of Donflamingo and they just obeyed before asking themselves "Wait, he's not our commander, what are we doing?!". I would think that warrent's conquerer's Haki. Being so dominant that people feel it's natural to follow your commands even if they have absolutely no reason to.

Hey tekking, I have a video idea, I have always wondered how the whole communication system works in One Piece. I know they use the mail, using seagulls to deliver it, but how does that even work? Who controls it? How do the seagulls know where to deliver?
well birds have been used in real life. there is some aspect of training, don't quite remember how it worked. but i think they need to be taken (or have been) to the place where they go. and they only know that one location iirc. so you have a seagul for every spot. and they know the way back. and you could probably bet that the birds in OP universe are a lot smarter than in our world mainly cause of how much bigger and how much ocean there is. so migrating would be a more important aspect for them in this fiction world. mostly pulling all of this out of the center of * memory of stuff i seen in history channel or animal planet eons ago oh and for the newspaper. birds always know how to find something to land on. so they could just use that to find boats in the ocean and fly random paths that will eventually be frequented. since logposes kind of indicate a certain path with 2 land masses. and probably they just learn to drop a newspaper with a signal of a raised hand and a shout or smth.
King imo… he’s just a bad matchup for katakuri… katakuri doesn’t have the attack power to put king down EVEN WITHOUT THE FLAME ON HIS BACK, keep in mind he has zoan defenses. I just don’t see how kat deals with it.

The fact that Katakuri has conquerors haki and King doesn’t is honestly what puts Katakuri over him in my mind. Otherwise it can pretty much go either way
i gotta say king, katakuri does have better haki overall, but unless you know kings weakness, its extremely hard to take him down, and katakuri doesnt have conquerors coating with armament yet as far as we know, so thats a big disadvantage for him right there
Katakuri can likely figure out the weakness of King. The real question is if Katakuri can deal enough chip damage in the time when King goes into speed mode while avoiding damage, cause if so Katakuri has a good chance of winning so long as his stamina is greater, if not the advantage goes to King.
@@heraldofthunder6244 King needs to rely on either going fast and making himself vaulnerable to attacks while being able to compete with Katakuri's speed, or hope his fire AOEs cover enough area that Katakuri can't dodge away from them. King lacking Conqueror's haki doesn't matter for the fight.

I think it's Katakuri every day of the week - his future sight is so OP; King would need to be in his fast mode to even have a chance of hitting him which makes him vulnerable.
@@trav1325 True, but if you look at how he was able to do that, you would see that it was possible because of Luffys unique powers and not because of his strength or speed. It's not a comparable.
@@blueleviathan15 Luffy also hit Kaido many times WITHOUT using snakeman. Those same moves that he used on Katakuri in his snakeman form, Katakuri was able to dodge many of them. Just cause Zoro “blitzes” a Yonko doesn’t mean he’s faster. Kaido and big mom are also ridiculously arrogant and are not used to dodging attack often especially when they are confident that they can tank a large majority of attack coming their way.
act one luffy = Katakuri, act one luffy got one shot by base kaido, king has better durability than kaido, then you have his magma like fire abilities and his df on top of that... katakuri doesn't have the AP to damage king... it would be a mid diff for king
What does the kaido oneshot have to do with durability lol. You are forgetting speed. If snakeman luffy with future sight can barely hit Katakuri then King has no chance. If King drops the durability to even try to attack he is toast. At the very least its a stalemate with both unharmed.
I think it would be a very balanced fight and because of that its so frustrating 🤯. I feel like king in defense mode isnt fast enough to get pass kats future sight and mochi body manipulation, but also none of katakuri’s attacks can hurt king in defense mode. (Basically in this situation its just a draw neither can hurt each other) But king in speed mode is fast enough to get pass katakuri’s abilities, but king can also be hurt by katakuri’s attacks in speed mode. ( in this situation i feel its whoever can get the most hits on each other)
@@KaiserReb *king and queen off screen, he was fighting both of them. And also remember before marco even fought king and queen he was fighting a yonko before that
If Katakuri could counter Luffy in snake man then he could easily do the same with king. And if he is weakened when he has increased speed any counter he takes when he attacks at high speed it would do a lot of damage to king. Evidently king can't take a lot of hits before going down but Katakuri could do damage to himself and still keep going.
I think the reason why King does not have conqueror's haki is because he isn't actively trying to be on top, we saw in his flashback that he is perfectly content with working under Kaido, while Katakuri was always trying to be stronger than everyone else and trying to be the one on top, and from what I can gather wasn't really happy with Big Mom since he says "will you come back someday to tople Big Mom" to Luffy. Katakuri thus has the qualities of a conqueror while King does not.
And it is all but stated outright that Katakuri is Big Mom's heir. Perospero might be the firstborn, but most of the kids would follow Kat if something happened to Big Mom.
This video brings me back to the first ever video of yours I watched back when I was 13 (I’m 21 now), it was Death the Kid vs Coyote Stark and I literally thought it was the coolest thing ever‼️ So this feels so nostalgic
Katakuri can simply use his future sight to predict when King's flames are about to go out to attack King when he's most vulnerable. I think his fight with Luffy also showed he has more stamina as that fight went on for hours. Quite frankly I don't see any scenario where King can land a hit on Katakuri while he's focused on the fight, so I lean strongly toward Katakuri.
King is faster than wci snake man luffy why wouldn’t he be able to hit kat and even if kat can predict his flames and know he’s weakness kat can’t damage him his strongest attack couldn’t even ko a luffy so there defiantly no koing a king
@@rafe100 King hasn't really demonstrated much in terms of speed, he seems to more rely on bruteforce and sneaky tactics. Even if I assume King is faster than Kat, then he would have to be way faster than Katakuri to overcome Kat's observation.
@@rafe100 Luffy didn't even need Snakeman to land a hit on Kaido. In fact Katakuri is like the only villain Luffy ever had trouble landing a hit on post-timeskip.
I’m giving it to katakuri. I feel he would be able to stifle Kings flight with sticky mochi, they’d clash with their wielded weapons where katakuri would lose, he would then turn it into a distance fight. King having gummed up wings having fewer distance options would be overwhelmed by awakening mochi.
@@BrendenTait8858 the thing is those flame attacks probably have a limit everytime he attacks zoro with the imperial flames (i think the name is right) he immedietly used the speed mode so he is either choosing to go speed mode for no reason or he is forced into speed mode after using the stronger flames (which would make sense because if he wasnt forced out of defensive mode after using the flames for attack he has no reason to use speed mode vs zoro)
I think future sight is just a perfect counter to King's lunarian defence/speed boost abilities. Assuming he understands how his ability works, Katakuri wins every time.
@@Mambo-Italiano That's not to say that king's haki is strictly needed, with a good level of armor haki, Ryou, in the long run wears it down. Katakuri tells Luffy that armor haki also has levels and his is superior to Luffy's, even though Luffy had improved his armor haki from the fights with Doffy and Cracker, he made stronger haki on top of that. include Katakuri's trident. Even with the right physical strength and a basic but very hard armor haki, it could work just the same. Without forgetting the fruits like Kizaru or Aokiji for example.
I think if katakuri ever learned haki coatings it'd make him the winner but as of now Kings defense just seems too high for him to break before he got too injured himself
Nice argument mathew ❤️ i love the logic bringing in external factors on the discussion though i think its just a matter of who made the first move given the fact that both of them is entirely aware of each others ability.
I think there are a couple variables to keep in mind with this fight. 1. Kat might actually be fast enough to force king into using his speed mode primarily. Kats speed and future sight might allow him to dodge every single damage buff attack that king uses. 2. Kat should figure out kings gimmick pretty easily because of his future sight. he may notice king enabling and disabling his flames before specific attacks. And because he sees them coming he could even test any hypothesis much more safely then zoro had to. Because he would realize just like zoro that he cant be hurt. And he will need to figure out his weakness. So if he's able to figure it out I think his future sight will allow him to land critical hits while king is in speed mode. And because he's as fast as full speed luffy (at the time), king again is kinda stuck in speed mode to even keep up with Kat.
@Thrill_I_Am King's "base form" seems to be the Flame Mode, since he was always in his Flame Mode even when he wasn't in battle.
@Kizuna Kosuke I mean if anything that just helps Kat in this scenario. It implies he Is damageable in his tank mode and even more susceptible in his speed mode.
@@wilrip78 I doubt Katakuri can ever reach the level of damage output as CoC-coating + Full Enma Haki Output Zoro, as that was the only thing that forced King into his Speed Mode to begin with. Enma Zoro wasn't even able to "make King bleed" according to Zoro himself, when he was able to easily cut Kaido multiple times and even scar him back when Zoro had all his bones broken. That just shows the complete difference in durability between King in Flame Mode vs Kaido, and I highly doubt Katakuri can even damage Kaido to begin with.
@Kizuna Kosuke I mean easly scar kaido is a huge over estimation. That was the most powerful technique we'd see zoro use ever so it was full power just to hurt him. And secondly we don't need Kat to be as strong as him his normal conquerors attacks should safice at damaging speed mode king. And since he has future sight he can even make his shots critical blows not just basic hits because he will know ahead of time exactly where the best place to strike is in response to kings attacks. The exact same way he did to luffy.
@@wilrip78 Katakuri can't coat with Conqueror's Haki. Zoro scarring Kaido was also before he started unleashing Full Enma Haki Output and CoC-coating, which is why the black sparks only showed up after against King. One mistake that Tekking made was that he said that Luffy was jumping in, using Gear Fourth, running out of steam, jumping back out of Mirror World, rinse and repeat. However, Luffy actually DIDN'T do that. He only ran out of the Mirror World once after G4 ran out, and when he came back, he was closing his eyes and doing Future Sight training for the entire 12 hour duration. This means that Katakuri was unable to "land a critical blow" on Luffy for 12 straight hours.
i think King with his fire and high defense has a big advantage over normal fighters against Katakuri because King can tank everything and he can free himself from the Mochi. I think Zorro would have a far worse match up and that Zorro fighting Kat would propably go into the direction of the Luffy Kat fight. I really love this fight constellation tho, I think there are multiple possible ways where the course of the fights could go and I see both winning in some scenarios which really makes this fight pretty much balanced. I think for example Katakuri could always land counter attacks on King when king is forced to enter his speed form because without it King will barely have any chance to hit Kat with his future sight. And while in the speed form King may still be durable, Katakuri would defly make a lot more damage there, so one scenario would be Katakuri just dodging all the time and counter attacking king from times to times while King may land some punches rarely here and there. And because Katakuri lands much more punches and most of them in Kings speed form Katakuri may go out as the winner in This scenario. In another scenario King may hit Katakuri with that Imperail Flame dragon magma attack (and let‘s be honest while future sight was especially over powered in WCI, it for example barely helped Luffy against the Yonko at all that much significantly. The Yonko‘s could still hit him, so future sight does propably not mean that you are untouchable, but it will definitely help you a lot to dodge lots of strong attacks) and if Katakuri or by instance any not Yonko around lvl character is hit by that attack it‘s game over. So these were just some scenario‘s where you could argue in both favors which shows that they truly are an equal based match and out of 10 fights it might be 5-5 or a 6-4/4-6 at max. I just love how Oda really snapped with the yonko commanders and gave them an appropriate strength which don‘t make them look like fodder besides yonko‘s because if Yonko‘s could just one shot their commanders than the commanders are literally worthless. So it‘s good to see Oda balancing it out and giving them the proper strength and rawness (both have goddamn cool designs and while Katakuri defly shined with his honorable personality, King has the advantage of being tied into the lore so even in that sight they are kinda balanced :D)
Even with his flames off, he's a 1st seat yonko commander with an awakened ancient zoan devil fruit, there is simply no way that any top teir combatant is hurting him with less than their top notch attack. I don't think Katakuri has the damage to do very much even without the flames. King stood still and tanked attacks that Kaido felt the need to DODGE! Even flameless, this tells me King is just too durable to be discounted even without his flames.
No. King is really weak, and I'd say he probably loses every time, bar none. He's so weak he has to bring out tricks and cheap shots against zoro. Kat can gum up his wings. Kat can foretell his attacks. Kats weapons wouldn't get dislodged. Kats mochi only has been shown to dissipate with water. Which tekking said there is none of. Kat has burning mochi, so even if king CAN burn it, it might take a lot of stamina. And kats not getting hit as much. So in a war of attrition, kat wins then too
King wins. King has a greater offensive & defensive power. Even haki up Enma couldn't cut him till Zoro gained advanced conquerers. Plus his durability & endurance is above as well because of zoan & his race. Luffy defeated Katakuri without advanced armament nor advanced conquerers.
@@kingdoom5022 King has fast attacks. Haki isn't unlimited. I love how people throw around advanced observation like it guarantees wins. It doesn't. He doesn't have the offensive abilities nor endurance to bring down King.
I'd say Katakuri wins, because King is going to be getting hit over and over, slowly wearing him down, even with how little damage he'd be doing due to the Lunarian DNA. Meanwhile, King isn't going to be able to hit Katakuri anywhere near as much, if at all. King is going to be slowly worn down, while Katakuri isn't going to be taking many hits, because King likely can't disrupt Katakuri's haki. As for the flames, Katakuri can absolutely use his awakening to make a wall of Mochi to block. King isn't going to be able to land anything decisive on Katakuri, while Katakuri would be slowly wearing King down.
@@Sun-cg6lv Katakuri has more than enough mochi to block it. Mochi isn't exactly the most flammable thing in the world. The flames can certainly fry his mochi, but if Katakuri puts up like a 3 foot mochi wall that fire's gonna stop.

I gotta give it to king. I just don’t believe katakuri can hit harder then zoro at that point of the story, and king is ridiculously fast and has really amazing defenses.
Exactly people are forgetting that Zoro could hurt Kaido but Luffy couldn't in the beginning of the Wano arc. So that proves Zoros attacks are stronger now than the attacks Luffy gave Kat back in that fight
This was awesome! Two of the most badass in the series fr. I think it would come down to stamina too but also I think King has just greater damage potential, like King would be hard pressed to hit katakuri but if he did land a few solid strikes katakuri would be in series trouble. Would love to see one of these for Zoro vs Doffy as well.
I think this is really hard to have a concrete result because we are comparing skills and power, but the basis of Katakuri's skills is not updated in a way.
Katakuris future sight isn’t that much of a problem actually you just gotta prove that king would be faster because Kaido proved that being able to see the future doesn’t mean you can dodge and react to an attack when he hit luffy and luffy mentioned he was using future sight. King should be comparable if not faster due to him out speeding zoro who scales to luffy, and luffy and zoro both have gotten stronger since whole cake so king should definitely be stronger or faster if not comparable to katakuri.
Great video, but i think that you’ve lowballed Katakuri’s speed in comparison to King’s(with his flames on), Katakuri at max speed was able to close the gap between Luffy in snakeman(whose attacks imo are leaps and bounds faster than Zoro’s) and himself without suffering a single attack, personally i don’t think he would even need to go full speed unless king turns his flames off in which case I think that Katakuri would be able to capitalize on the opening And secondly(this is just my analogy of the fight between Zoro and King) every time King used an imperial flaming attack he went full speed with his flames turned off afterwards you can see it clearly in the last panel of chapter 1035 when he used “imperial guardian flaming dragon” the flames on his back are turned off the same happened before when Zoro used “purgatory onigiri” king used “imperial flaming dragon” afterwards and his flames went out and after every imperial attack the flames didn’t return immediately, maybe that is the price of using his flames offensively that he becomes normal in the sense that he can actually be damaged
In the first scene where he used the Magma Dragon to burn the Beast Pirates fodder in 1035, he was still in Flame Mode as you can see the flame on his back while he was using the Magma Dragon, so I don't think turning off his flame is a mandatory thing to use that technqiue.
King was taking attacks from Zoro that hurt Kaido while act 1 Luffy couldn’t deal any damage to Kaido who beat Katakuri. Katakuri doesn’t have the haki to damage Kaido and definetly not for King. King slaps
@@TheTowerOfRan When both are on defence mode they cant hit each other. So who catches the other with his defences down? My money is on the guy who can see the fucking future.
@@Bl00dgarm The only reason why King went onto speedmode is because he was afraid of Zoro being able to hurt him in his firemode which is why he even started to block Zoros attacks while his flames were on. He won’t have to do that with Katakuri and constantly fight in firemode. Katakuri has not a single attack to hurt him while King has great endurance and stamina and is ancient zoan which boost both of it. King destroys Katakuri. Even awakening won’t help Katakuri since he has magma abilities and can always blow himself up to get rid of the mochi.
@@tractorgobrr1344 He did however Zoro after hurting King said “why are you blocking, are you scared?“ after King had his fire back which implies Zoro with conquers haki can even hurt King with his firemode.
Tekking, here's a theory what if Katakuri saw that if he continued to push Luffy to his breaking point that Luffy would awaken his God powers during their battle? Katakuri might not know what Nika Nika fruit is, but his future sight could have warned him not to push Luffy too far to that point.
Personally gotta give the slight edge to katakuri, I think if zoro can beat king then so could katakuri. It's really hard to say, honestly could go either way.
I think Katakuri has a good chance at beating King. I see King's defense more akin to a medieval armor. Yes, his armor is superb and especially Zoro had trouble getting trough that with his blades, but the way to beat armored knights is to use blunt force. You can't cut a knight in armor but you can use a warhammer to demolish the body beneath the armor. So I would argue that Katakuri has a better chance of damaging King than Zoro because he's using mostly blunt force.
I know Big Mom/Kaido are way taller, but the idea of Katakuri brawling with King and being the smaller one is hella cute to me. Like, imagine Katakuri being the smaller "underdog" in a fight xD Also, hot take: Since the introduction of Ryuo I thought maybe the reason Katakuri's armament haki is so powerful is that he is able to use Ryuo to some extent, or something similar at least. Pretty convenient that all of a sudden, this guy shows up with stronger armament haki than we've ever seen, hurting Luffy just by touching him, and in the next arc Ryuo is introduced. Wouldn't be the first time something like this happened either.
Of course, current King is also missing a wing. I’m assuming Tekking is making this a pre-WCI arc fight.

Daifuku and oven were making fun of him about it when they were young
Katakuri is a better match for Queen than King
Temporarily
Damnn, the painting looks stunning! I propose a round of applause for the artist that made such a masterpiece!
i feel like Katakuris future sight is kind of the perfect counter to Kings fighting style.
i mean, King is kind of a brute and a trickster.
@@houmihm based on logic snakeman definitely faster than king also his attack was unpredictable it’s just random
@Mr. xD However, that same quote also applies to Katakuri.
As for the first punch that landed, it was out of the range of kats fs. He literally easily dodged it but got hit cuz he didn’t expect it to comback. Once he learned how it worked he dodged majority of the punches.
Zoro was getting knocked around before advanced conquers cmon now king takes it
@@n3onnova564 the problem is when people think Katakuri is on another level of speed to King. Again, Kat can only keep up due to FS and his logia body to dodge. His actual movement speed or travel speed isn’t on that level. Luffy’s Snakeman is retracting, stretching, accelerating multiple times at mid distance while Katakuri is dodging barely moving a few inches to do so.
In fact, he only ever started switching to Speed Mode when Zoro first used Advanced CoC coating, which could be explained by the fact that he needed the extra speed to dodge Zoro's attacks.
He then proceeds to spank them like he was their daddy
Luffy did not have Kings haki infusion or armament haki emission/internal destruction when he fought Katakuri and he still won (albeit barely) , while Zoro *needed* Kings haki infusion WITH ENMA and a brand new sword style in order to defeat King, Luffy simply did not posses this kind of damage output.
( a normal stab draw blood from Kaido)
You are still wrong lol.
( without advanced armament/ conqueror coating)
Now with advanced armament and conqueror coating Luffy is comparable to Yonko in damage output.
@Apon King's "base form" seems to be the Flame Mode, since he was always in his Flame Mode even when he wasn't in battle. I completely agree plus i think that kings flames are more scattered making it harder for future sight to dodge
if Zoro managed to hit King, Katakuri can hit King, i don't understand why Katakuri's attacks would do nothing, i'm sure that during the battle he would come up with a strategy to hit him just like Zoro did.
Why has Forneverworld fell off
The biggest problem is you can’t just give CoC Coating to Katakuri.

Another super important factor is the ability in battle, Katakuri was equal to or better than Luffy, while King was outclassed by Zoro from the start.

I have always wondered how the whole communication system works in One Piece. I know they use the mail, using seagulls to deliver it, but how does that even work? Who controls it? How do the seagulls know where to deliver?
well birds have been used in real life. there is some aspect of training, don't quite remember how it worked. but i think they need to be taken (or have been) to the place where they go. and they only know that one location iirc. so you have a seagul for every spot. and they know the way back. and you could probably bet that the birds in OP universe are a lot smarter than in our world mainly cause of how much bigger and how much ocean there is. so migrating would be a more important aspect for them in this fiction world. mostly pulling all of this out of the center of * memory of stuff i seen in history channel or animal planet eons ago
oh and for the newspaper. birds always know how to find something to land on. so they could just use that to find boats in the ocean and fly random paths that will eventually be frequented. since logposes kind of indicate a certain path with 2 land masses. and probably they just learn to drop a newspaper with a signal of a raised hand and a shout or smth.

King could use his flames to destroy the mochi though plus the flames make Katakuri's attacks pretty worthless

Except Zoro need conqueror's flow+Enma to damage him even in his weaker/no defence form.
It's like a unfair disadvantage. If only King had a semi-advanced observation Haki, this battle would've been over faster.

Nice argument mathew ❤️ i love the logic bringing in external factors on the discussion though i think its just a matter of who made the first move given the fact that both of them is entirely aware of each others ability.
BRO THAT PAINTING LOOKS SOO GOOD
I think there are a couple variables to keep in mind with this fight.
Katakuri wins because I want him to
i think King with his fire and high defense has a big advantage over normal fighters against Katakuri because King can tank everything and he can free himself from the Mochi.
So in a war of attrition, kat wins then too
The sketch you made of king is breathtaking. I want it on my wall
Tekking should do more of these type of videos.
Like Katakuri, I see no future where King would win
...

Ultimately, its the zoan stamina bonus that tips it in favor of king for me.

Great video, but i think that you’ve lowballed Katakuri’s speed in comparison to King’s(with his flames on), Katakuri at max speed was able to close the gap between Luffy in snakeman(whose attacks imo are leaps and bounds faster than Zoro’s) and himself without suffering a single attack, personally i don’t think he would even need to go full speed unless king turns his flames off in which case I think that Katakuri would be able to capitalize on the opening
And secondly(this is just my analogy of the fight between Zoro and King) every time King used an imperial flaming attack he went full speed with his flames turned off afterwards you can see it clearly in the last panel of chapter 1035 when he used “imperial guardian flaming dragon” the flames on his back are turned off the same happened before when Zoro used “purgatory onigiri” king used “imperial flaming dragon” afterwards and his flames went out and after every imperial attack the flames didn’t return immediately, maybe that is the price of using his flames offensively that he becomes normal in the sense that he can actually be damaged
In the first scene where he used the Magma Dragon to burn the Beast Pirates fodder in 1035, he was still in Flame Mode as you can see the flame on his back while he was using the Magma Dragon, so I don't think turning off his flame is a mandatory thing to use that technqiue.
I don’t think Kat has the power to damage king

zoro as advanced conqueror , katakuri cant even use Ryuo
zoro did use Advanced conquerors though.. and Zoro does have insane damage output
THAT KING PAINTING IS SO BEAUTIFUL
I know Big Mom/Kaido are way taller, but the idea of Katakuri brawling with King and being the smaller one is hella cute to me. Like, imagine Katakuri being the smaller "underdog" in a fight xD
Also, hot take: Since the introduction of Ryuo I thought maybe the reason Katakuri's armament haki is so powerful is that he is able to use Ryuo to some extent, or something similar at least. Pretty convenient that all of a sudden, this guy shows up with stronger armament haki than we've ever seen, hurting Luffy just by touching him, and in the next arc Ryuo is introduced. Wouldn't be the first time something like this happened either.
