    I am from the UK myself and I totally agree with the statement that 6 years in prison just isn’t enough. In the UK, pedophiles will get around the same jail time, however they have no problem handing out 20+ years to drug dealers. I do not agree with drug dealers either, however I would be more than happy to have a drug dealer in society than a murderer / pedo.

      @wickedwitchoftheeast88 3 роки тому

      @@india239 That's because any crime that involves money such as defrauding the government like tax evasion, laundering proceeds of drug money or embezzlement you'll get a hefty prison sentence because money is more important than a human life to the UK government. That's why drug dealers and barons get their assets frozen and serve at least 15 years whereas a paedophile gets less than that like 4 or 5 years but they'll only serve half that sentence and be released on "good behaviour" and they're normally put on Vulnerable Person's Unit's in prison because the general population will eat them alive which is a slap in the face for their poor incredibly vulnerable victims who's lives they've destroyed 🙄

      Bobby Dukes Sometimes it is a life for a life but not usually. Both my parents were murdered and the murderer got thirty years for each murder but they ran concurrently. That means he actually got thirty years for both murders. He is out now and the carnage he left behind still lives on in all the affected lives. American laws are written to protect the rights of the accused, the victims have no rights. God bless and comfort all lives affected by crimes.

      @Bobby Dukes Well that's going to make the victims feel a whole lot better. Id rather have far less murders than have far more murderers spending life in prison. Americas murder rate compared to the UK is like night and day even relative to population. America has harsher sentences but still has many many more murders. Don't judge a country that is far less violent, when your own country leads the world in homicides even with draconian sentencing.

I think she knew that the murder was going to happen. If the police had arrested her, I think she would have told the police everything. It's the content of the tapes that count as evidence, not whether or not the court requires the original tapes or a transcript read by an actress. Usually an actor/actress is used for purposes of clarity and nothing else. I agree with the above commenters who believe the wife should have been charged. By law in the UK, both spouses have 'marital privilege', meaning they are protected from having their spouse testify against them regarding any info they disclosed privately to oneanother during the marriage.
      But I agree on your first point: the 2nd wife obviously knew about the crime & didn't report it, which can constitute 'accessory after the fact'.
      In a crime this serious, sometimes you get lucky & the criminal couple will eventually divorce or separate, often contentiously. Sometimes the scorned or bitter ex-spouse will suddenly be more motivated to testify against their ex after an ugly divorce.

    I don't know why Kay got away with manslaughter. I thought the condition for a charge of manslaughter to be preferred was an acknowledgement that they had killed someone, but only because of a significant mitigating circumstance, like mental illness or domestic violence.
    But, not only were there no mitigating circumstances, Kay denied any involvement. So the murder charge should have stuck.

    Obviously he killed her but I can never understand how a person could even think about doing this. I’ve been through some quite brutal things but to kill a person is beyond my understanding. I prayed so much that the next phone call, was to say my husband was dead, but I’m not capable of doing that to a person

    I am puzzled thats Kay's new wife wasn't prosecuted. It is obvious by the tape that she had both knowledge of Rhonda's murder AND was party to knowledge of her body's whereabouts. (This, in the eyes of the Law make her an accessory to murder) It is an absolute disgrace that she wasn't brought to account. Moreover the 'manslaughter' verdict handed down to Kay was a disgusting mockery of justice. The lying, slimy, smug bastard should be serving a life sentence.

    At the end of the beginning of the 21st Century, prospective murderers of 'loved ones' need to understand that it's almost impossible to get away with it.
    Forensic serology, digital forensics, national databases, interagency cooperation and liaison are just some of the things you need to factor into your plans of 'escape'. Basically, if you're the kind of person who would seriously entertain thoughts of murder, you may find the act itself far easier than getting away with it.
