I saw that fgc translated video that after he got washed from Topanga league, he vow to change his guile and he was godlike at that time. He even wash Tokido 10 - 0 in online setting and continue to body him during that cpt qualifier tournament. At that time his whiff punishment was so on point and he even whiff punish with CA. So is his meter management too. Pity that Capcom Cup during that time was cancel and was change to exhibition set. Even with broken finger and Daigo need to change back to stick, he still won against Gachikun Capcom Cup previous winner.
There also a video that Punk appear on Daigo chat and somehow Daigo intrepet that message like final goodbye and ask Punk think carefully and not do it in a joking way. Then his old nemesis come out and try to beat him so that Punk doesn't see that person anymore(joke again)
I think dealing with an unreal talent like Punk is what keeps Daigo sharp and clean. The guy never loses sight of winning, even when he's getting cooked. Truly the most optimal mindset to play with.
