These two legends are the true embodiments of the FGC ideals. Daigo is the ideal FGC player, analytical and mechanically skilled, as he slowly dismantles his opponents from every small mistake they make. That is the highest level gameplay of a fighting game one can reach, as in a perfect scenario, mistakes and habits are what makes a player lose in a fighting game. Tokido have become my favorite player in any Fighting game, his passion and dedication is unmatched, and the level of RESPECT he have for Daigo is even higher.....normal rivalries in many games are build on hate or jealousy....but both Daigo and Tokido have immense respect for each other...Daigo sees Tokido as already (even before Tokido finally defeat him in a long set) as the undeniably best SF player in the world....but Tokido didn't see it that way, for him, even if Daigo isn't winning tittles or big tournaments, Daigo in his eyes is still the definition of the BEST, he say it himself that the shadow Daigo's name projects is too big. You finally met and face him, only to realize that the tale is really true, he's truly the legend.
Im not a fighting game player at al. But all the stories about Tokido just hits me in the feels.
I love them both. They go hard and truly show what fighting games are about. Respect and love.
Daigo just demolished Tokido again two long sets back to back.
You don't get this type of storyline in FPS and MOBA. You just don't. It's great that you got Mago's take on this since he was teammates with the both of them during their Madcatz days.
in dota2 we have team OG's sweet sweet revenge though, real life naruto vs sasuke
I think its just because its a 1v1 genre vs the other 5v5 genres. Everything you do in a fighting game is generally all you.
its because its 1v1. I wish there was more 1v1 esports game with a real, healthy scene. the FGC isnt healthy sadly. but its way more epic. So im stuck playing team games because its where the best scenes are at.
It's because FGC is grassroots. Other esports have to keep that squeaky clean image, so less incentive to have story lines
@@vDeadbolt the day sponsors and orgs understand that squeaky clean is boring as fuck and to let players be natural, trashtalk and create stories/rivalries is way better in terms of viewers AND money...
Please never stop covering fighting games...they are soo great
Whatever you say.But always remember the "Beast" has a heart of gold.Donated his earnings from tournament to support new players.Supporting the FGC through his donations.Daigo will always be the best player to ever play street fighter.
Like many others here, I dont follow the fighting game scene but stories like this are amazing, great job theScore.
So Tokido is Kenny Omega and Daigo is Kota Ibushi. Interesting.
The editing and production, jesus christ you guys are good
Watching Tokido cry after being beaten hurt so much to watch, i mean, i can feel his hopes falling down
Can we have a Knee video. He is the tekken god
@holllllke123 EVO 2013 He won in Tekken Tag 2
I feel like they're just waiting for Knee to win a major tournament like EVO or TWT before making a vid about him
@holllllke123 He's won major tournaments. They just aren't named EVO or TWT. I think knee is one of the most motivated tekken players left. All the past champions in current tekken 7 lifecycle have seemed to simmer. Knee seems like the LAST of the old guard to still be consistent.
@holllllke123 Lmao you must be new.
@holllllke123 the hell your talking about.
That was beautiful. Tokido was always my favorite player. This did him justice.
There will never be a time when the Daigo Parry does not give me chills. My mans is a real life Ryu on the sticks.
I'm still tripping how an unheard of man in 2017 battled a 10 year hardened vet in street fighter V does it speak of the man or the game
This is one plot point away from being an anime I swear lmao I was getting hella mha all might and Endeavor vibes.
This one, made me cry a bit ❤️
9:28 - Daigo labbed that anti-air grab so much lol.
tbh Akuma in sfv was like a christmas gift for Tokido, he got everything you could wish for your main character, it was a gamechanger.
Sfv is a game with few devensive mechanics and Akuma is an offense Monster.
that the reason street fighter v is the most hated game, but it got better. Just a few broken character with a lot of plus frame move.
I love these little documentaries. It is a job very well done by this channel.
If Daigo is Jordan, Tokido could be the Kobe.
I swear, whenever I see Daigo versus Tokido videos pop up in my feed, it's an insta-click!
Tokido winning and, more importantly, Punk losing Evo 2017 was one of the most satisfying grand finals to watch in Street Fighter 5 imo. Seeing that man put Punk in the place someone's been needing to put him in for months was a sight to see and there was no one more deserving of that privilege and payment then Tokido.
In all honesty, I'm not really that into fighting games. Despite that, I've become a fan of Tokido and I always enjoy the videos you guys make on the FGC :)
I honestly believe daigo just goes to these tournaments to have fun.
That's kinda how he is these days lmao. He still has the competitive spirit where he will "try" and can get upset if he loses or whatever but he isnt too bothered by it anymore. Hes just playing for as long as he still can
seeing these two, looks like there is something, like they have auras
Following your videos, I'm pretty sure FGC stories you made are so anime.
Daigo is Batman. We love him.
Prep Time Batman = Prep Time Daigo
I remember the first time I saw Tokido in person was at NCR 2019, and the first thing I noticed about him was his very good back posture
I'm not playing any fighting game currently but both of them are such inspiration.
This man is vegeta trying to overcome goku. Can't help liking Tokido
"tokido was finally the best"
Hell forever be the guy who chased daigos shadow and succeeded while diago IS and will forever be street fighter itself
it's probably more of time catching up to him. like these young bucks beating legends in mma
@@30yovegan34 those long sets def show that age doesnt matter in games. Sure we "non pro" human beings think that but its only duo less & less time to practice/play duo kids/job etc. physical sport like mma sure is different tho.
This is a anime in real life. My god
If i had to name 2 players of the whole fgc it would be tokido & daigo. For me... he archived it already.. to be a legend on his own.
Holy dedication.
talking about how this stuff was like hero academia inspired story endeavor/ All might storry kinda thing
Just watched the CPT Asia event on Sunday Daigo 3 - 1 Tokido
tokido has been a long time running japanese fighting game god , losing in a first to 10 against daigo nothing to be ashamed of , overcoming that a few years later is a monumental accomplishment and he is truly deserving of this , not to make any johns for my personal favorite player Daigo but he has been in a decline , But got damn does tokido deserve the mantle ...
In life the thing is that when you reach your goal you notice that nothing has changed and there is no lasting satisfaction. Daigo is the Zen Master. He just wants to have fun.
People talk about reads, yomis and such but these 2 guys don't even play for the rewards anymore.
They play for the glory and that's something not a lot of people have as their motivation. This is deep taking it to another level.
I remember Daigo also beating Xian badly in a ft10 after Xian's evo win. Daigo must be the real final boss of street fighter
Tokido has always been one of my absolute favorite players to watch. What put him at #1 in my eyes as the greatest fighting game player of all time is the year he made top 8 in like 5 different games at Evo. Then to flex even harder he beat 2 champions like a month later.
For the amount of time I’ve seen and watched Tokido and not hear him talk much, his English is pretty dam good. Wow.
"If he use Ryu, I body him."
I don't know if the videos are still up on youtube, but back during EVO 2010 Gootecks had organized what he called the Salty Suite, a place where players could gather and do high roller money matches. I'm pretty sure the first time I heard Tokido speak English was in interviews surrounding that event.
