I have a question, my friend unlocked it after killing the second boss, the tower knight. With the wiki for unlocking the door you need 75% for pure white and he has it. The problem is that he only killed 2 bosses so it shouldn't be 60%? How he unlocked it? I didn't unlocked it because I died and I understand that, but how he did? @Top Noodle you see the eye at the top left next to your health bar? That’s world tendency, when it is all black, the world gets harder, when it is all white, the world gets easier and more areas are unlocked. You can increase world tendency by killing bosses and you lose it by dying in human form. You can check individual world tendencies for each area in your menu one space from the right
To all new players (like me). Search "cresent falcion" its really a good wepon. It may be hard to to kill those skelletons guarding it, but just use fists to kill them because they are weak to spalsh damage...

4:55 To get to the bottom safely, after grabbing that Colorless Demon soul, walk to exactly where the body lying on the beam is, walk toward the wall (opposite of the wall with ladder) and jump down. Then walk the long way to the other side of the room, drop down to the square platform.

I was going to replace my large sword of moonlight, there was a colorless demon on the bottom in the muck. I shot a soul ray at it and got the big light whoosh as if it's a big deal to kill a colorless demon but there was no soul. What happened?.Is it hiding? What do I do to find that? Since he's in moonstone territory I would think he's immune to moonstone magic. Is that how it works?

Good explanation. On my first run through shrine of storms I ran into the black phantom right at the beginning, didn’t realize that world was already pure black so early.
Same happened to me and it felt like it broke the game. Satsuki killed me 100's of times but I got him in the end. Only to find world 5 pure black waiting for me was even worse.
Hey all! I forgot to mention that in the Remake, if you warp from an archstone to another part of the world, or even reload the same archstone, the world tendency will change. You no longer have to go to the Nexus, you just have to use the archstone for whatever purpose. So if you're in 1-1, and you go to the 1-1 archstone and warp to 1-1, 1-2, 1-3, or 1-4, the world tendency will update!
Hi, in the remake it seems that tendency is based on your own game, not an average of the whole server. More testing is needed, but I’ve had Latria pure white for days now with several crashes and going offline and back online. A few others on r/demonsouls are reporting this as well, if true it’s a great change (imo) as it means you don’t have to play offline (and remove a huge aspect of the game) just to get certain items.
Hey Jonny ok so I'm playing offline now but I was not in the beginning I already beat 1-1 1-2 and 1-3 2-1 3-1 and 4-1 bosses already. I went back to this area to see if the gate is open buts not and I am in shadow form. I did notice that world 2 and three are dark like the tendency is black unlike this first area tendency is white or much lighter then world 2 and 3. How can I get the gate opened and I'm sorry but this tendency stuff is confusing. Why are my world 2 and 3 dark already. Ps I made a mistake and hit the cage guy in 3-1 the guy with magic and he wanted to kill me so I had to pay for forgiveness so I'm not sure if that's the reason world three is dark already. He is in my nexus after paying forgiveness.
@@ryanm.122allegedly helping other players kill bosses as a phantom raises it up. but ive helped people kill flame lurker like 5 times and it hasnt changed at all. i think its a lie. but i did hear playing in offline mode is your best bet in new game + because its only influenced by yourself just dont kill any npc's or die in human form. i got into the practice of going to the nexus and jumping off to get rid of my human form after a boss fight and now in my new game + all my worlds are starting to be pure white as i continue on
@@ryanm.122 if you die once if you haven't killed any bosses you're Gucci but yeah the only way to get pure white from what I know is killing bosses/black phantoms so you could sit and wait to be invaded
World Tendency is the only thing I hated about Demon's Souls. It was such an unnecessary thing to do and hide things behind it. Nothing more annoying than realizing you can't obtain, explore or do something without having done things perfectly.
There are two more bosses and another dragon in this world for an additional few points towards pure white. Worst case, you move into NG+ and get it the next time around.
Little late, but if you do drop down to the beams with a ton of souls (like me). After you collect the colorless demon soul and you need to go down to the next level of beams, aim just a little to the left. I consistently fell to the right, dying and having to go collect my 90,000+ souls at least 4 times 😂.
not realy this time they made it way easier to obtain compared with the original where u need to upgrade every weapon to max level and get unique weapons from world tendency events too

I’ve beat every other FromSoftware game a handful of times each but this is my first time playing Demon’s Souls, are you able to bring up the world tendency in your own game by helping other people beat bosses? For example I died to the armored spider in human form but I really want the dragon bone smasher so to get to pure white am I able to help other people beat the spider or flamelurker to boost my world tendency?

First off, thanks for checking out the video! To answer your question, the numbers were used because the original archstones were just called "Phalanx Archstone" or "Tower Knight Archstone". The levels inside each world didn't have dedicated names like "Gates of Boletaria" or "The Lord's Path". So everyone just used a number notation that corresponded to each archstone in The Nexus. Boletaria is 1, Stonefang is 2, Tower of Latria is 3, and so on. Then, each level inside each world is -1, -2, -3, etc.
2 things... 1st after collecting colorless Demon Soul Evacuate less chance of death. 2nd is for Crystal Lizards they only respawn 4 times in a given game per encounter so if they escape the only way to get them to respawn again is either exiting and returning or killing a boss.
I died once in body form before I knew it affected world tendency when I first started the game. I killed the phalanx, tower knight and dragon but am not pure white because of the death. Am I screwed and never able to get pure white now?
I belive that there are two Black Phantom Knights assisting Red Eyed Knight with a Spear on location 1-1. Killing them should help. I'm going to check that tommorow
Towards White tendency: Kill Primeval Demon (only appear at Pure Black Tendency) +75% , Kill Black Phantom Miralda +90 ( she is after The Gate at the begginig of first lvl wich open only ehen world tendency is Pure White or Pure Black) ten 30% for both dragons and some every bosses. Do, best way is to go Black and Kill all The rest enemies offline. But u must travrl on foot. And you need to Kill archdemon to pass gate

A little help please! I already clear Boletarian except for King Allant. The world was PW, but for some reason go back to neutral (I don't know what happened, maybe I died in body form, but I don't remember of doing this, but I kill executioner Miralda as NPC not BP). Yea, killing body form Miralda will drop your world tendency several points. You'll need to kill invading players, or the dragons, in order to bring it up to pure white.

Did you die at any point, while living, before killing any of those bosses? Boss kills move the WT at around 30% per kill. But, every death, while living, moves toward black by 10%.
If you hit the Tower Knight in the head while he’s laying on the ground, it does an extreme amount of damage. They don’t even have to be heavy attacks.
Hey I wish I should’ve seen this earlier. I beat the tower knight but now my tendency is neutral. Will helping out others raise my tendency ? And if I kill the dragon does that necessarily mean it goes to pure white ?
Killing the dragon doesn't turn it pure white, it just gives 1 point towards white on the scale. Killing the blue dragon later on does as well. Unfortunately, co-opping has no effect. Killing invaders does, though, so you can always try your luck with that. But dying during PvP would be a death in body form, which drops your tendency, so it's a gamble.

I started playing before researching and may have died in body form, not sure, but I killed the red dragon, the phalanx, the big fat boss (the one you fight in the beginning) the giant knight with the shield and you cut his feet/legs and I am still not pure white. How do I get it to pure white with no enemies left?
I just started the other day and killed the two bosses already and the dragon. But I died once in body form. Is there anything I can do like fighting more enemies or going offline or is there a different trick?
You can learn it by a sorcerer ventor. One appears in the nexus on his own and later you can rescue a Sage from Latria to learn higher level spells. Similar goes for miracles.
Hey man this really helped me out but do you know how to get pure white tendency for Latria? I've killed every single boss and cleared the levels but it's still not pure white and I don't know what to do because it's only neutral so there aren't any events
Dying in body form pushes you 1 point towards Pure Black, so it will make it so you need to do something to regain that point, such as killing a boss, invading black phantom, etc.

my world tendency changed from pure white to neutral after going through this area? i died trying to get the colorless soul like 5 times but i was NOT in human form... why did it change...? and can i get it back to pure white? red dragon is already dead and haven't gone through 1-3 yet.
I killed the red dragon and tower knight in ofline soul form and i have pure white tendency. Door is opened. Try offline play and in soul form. Before going in worlds die in Nexus. Dont die in worlds in body form. Hope this helps.
Killing Miralda in her Body Form will shift World Tendency towards Black (-3), but it won't have any effect on Character Tendency. Killing Miralda in her Black Phantom form will shift both World Tendency (+3) and Character Tendency (+1) towards White.
Thanks for the video. I am afraid I am still a little unclear about it. I've completed 1-1 and 1-2 bosses, but I also died 1 time in each one as Human form (I didn't know about this until then). If I went on and finished 1-3 and 1-4, would that automatically turn all of World 1 Pure White, or do I still need to do additional stuff? I guess the question is "Is killing the 1-4 boss enough to turn it all Pure White?" Thanks!

To go past the fog wall after defeating tower knight, you need to defeat the final boss of any other world to get the soul of an archdemon. Once you do that, approach the fog wall after tower knight and it will go away.
You'll probably need to get invaded and kill other players, if you've already killed 2 bosses and the red dragon. I don't know if you'll get enough points from just killing the last 2 bosses and the blue dragon.
So if nobody invades me while playing online my world tendency still can change based on what other people online are doing in their games? I can't fathom that in some other house something someone does in their game that never involved my character being there or their character coming into my game, would affect my world tendency.
The whole shrine of storms is such a bitch to traverse through if you got black world tendency. I was stuck there for so damn long....Best of luck if you haven't beaten it yet
I have a question, I found a glowing green demon in the poison swamp level last night. I am not new to the series and played the original quite extensively on the PS3. I'm now playing on the PS5 and I'm literally staring at a glowing green monster and...I don't know what to make of it. *Edit- I forgot to mention, I have only died a total of three times during my playthrough so far. I ran through a bunch of levels one after another in full body form. Meaning, I chanced dying and moving my world to black. The last time I died was in the poison swamp area. I got hung up on a piece of environment and one of the trolls constantly kept hitting me as I got up giving me no chance. My world should technically be the very first stage if white. I beat a phantom and the leech boss before dying once.
@@SweetJohnnyCage I did not but he sure looked really neat. He was one of the smaller guys that carry a club (not the big ones). He was standing at the end of the of world...I think it's 5-2. I don't play them in order so I have no idea (second part of the swamp). It's after the part where you can climb up the side of the cliff and wooden planks. They have giant mosquitos and the guys with the long sticks lit on fire. I should have fought him but I messed up and just got murdered by three huge troll guys. I wanted to get my souls back and it was so late I just went to bed. If I see him again I will snap a picture.
I killed King Doran and all I got out of it from his corpse was some Moon grass. Still don't have the key to get through the gate to tor von boltera that he was blocking. Any insight?

@@JS-fb6ww I'm sorry, but I really have no idea what you're referring to. Old King Doran guards a sword, and you get his armor when you kill him. Tower Knight guards a big door that's covered in fog. You need the soul of an archdemon to pass through that fog. An archdemon is the final boss of a world.

You just meander your way around and get them to follow you to the top of the steps and fall off. That guy not the tower night. The tower night I got to and was killed in like half a second and had to go all the way back to the beginning. How come there were no checkpoints in this game?
I understood one thing. Souls game,better played in soul form. There is pure white and black. 1st playthrough mostly neutral, than newgame+ maybe go on pure white playthrough so can explore new events accordingly. While this playthrough,we can save all the stone of ephemeral eyes. Than again play as pure black (easiest way is to die and resurrect body and die) since it will introduce new enemies in each world and level. So 3 playthrough, you can mix and match with Mage,Strength, or quality built for each playthrough. This is how to get the complete experience.

Is there a way to read how many run throughs you've accomplished? Anyway, I've killed most NPCs out of frustration but I cannot kill the old monk. I remember it was easy at first. He's just invincible but he can't be. There's something he's weak to and I want to know what it is. He's killed me sooo many times like the fire blaze just sends him desperately dodging, then you're out of MP and he comes and kills you. Not right away but I tried black tar and had good results, still die. I can't out run him anymore. I'm in black leather and I'm as fast as I can get but there's no time to snort or cast warding every time I need it. He's made of magic. Does this mean that he's vulnerable to magic attacks? It doesn't seem like it but how would a magic being get poisoned or plague? Swords that pass through shields... He's not using one. Does the soul stealing thing do the trick? Usually bosses are exempt from easy outs like that. I know it doesn't work on others though it does take out the giant monkey man-eaters. Ironic since all primates are being killed and eaten all over the world. Their numbers are dropping fast and they were all in trouble to begin with because there are 8,000,000,000 Humans +/- and they don't care about anything but #1. I think the game wardens should do their job especially if it allows them to gun down these idiots. There are scores of highly urgent, critical problems that can only be solved by taking control. Hire rainforest burners, pay them in food and teach them how to protect these habitats. It takes me pages to scratch the surface of that one but the Earth needs habitat for Earth's animals. The rainforests and jungles are great habitats. We need to begin building places for humans underground. Leave the surface for critters. We polluted all the water. Too bad so sad, filter your water. Uh, where must animals drink? The polluted rivers dumshts. We've got to fix water on Earth. Why us? Because we showed everyone how to do it. Plastic needs to be removed from the oceans before the problem becomes impossible. Come on . I'm appealing to gamers because it seems gamers are smart. They like solving problems. Think how happy you'll be when you can breed tortoise numbers up and show them where fresh water is that's clean. There are tens of thousands of heart warming solutions. It's more urgent than people understand and I can't imagine where their brains are. Lose them and there's no reason to save the rest. Fk it. No, fix it now and enjoy their happiness for the rest of your life.

ONLINE PLAY DOES NOT AFFECT WORLD TENDENCY ON PS5. This wasn't known when I made the guide, and we all assumed everything worked the same as on PS3.

Well that's why I hate demon souls, nothing is thought out. And you have to read a book so you don't get screwed over at every turn.

World Tendency is the only thing I hated about Demon's Souls. It was such an unnecessary thing to do and hide things behind it. Nothing more annoying than realizing you can't obtain, explore or do something without having done things perfectly.

There are two more bosses and another dragon in this world for an additional few points towards pure white. Worst case, you move into NG+ and get it the next time around.

Little late, but if you do drop down to the beams with a ton of souls (like me). After you collect the colorless demon soul and you need to go down to the next level of beams, aim just a little to the left. I consistently fell to the right, dying and having to go collect my 90,000+ souls at least 4 times 😂.

I’ve beat every other FromSoftware game a handful of times each but this is my first time playing Demon’s Souls, are you able to bring up the world tendency in your own game by helping other people beat bosses? For a regular playthrough you don't have to worry about it. Just suicide in the nexus after each boss and play in soul form.
I killer Phalanx and Tower Knight and the red dragon and left and came back and STILL not white world tendency. What am I missing?

First off, thanks for checking out the video! To answer your question, the numbers were used because the original archstones were just called "Phalanx Archstone" or "Tower Knight Archstone". The levels inside each world didn't have dedicated names like "Gates of Boletaria" or "The Lord's Path". So everyone just used a number notation that corresponded to each archstone in The Nexus. Boletaria is 1, Stonefang is 2, Tower of Latria is 3, and so on. Then, each level inside each world is -1, -2, -3, etc.

2 things... 1st after collecting colorless Demon Soul Evacuate less chance of death. 2nd is for Crystal Lizards they only respawn 4 times in a given game per encounter so if they escape the only way to get them to respawn again is either exiting and returning or killing a boss.
I died once in body form before I knew it affected world tendency when I first started the game. I killed the phalanx, tower knight and dragon but am not pure white because of the death. Am I screwed and never able to get pure white now?
I belive that there are two Black Phantom Knights assisting Red Eyed Knight with a Spear on location 1-1. Killing them should help. I'm going to check that tommorow

Towards White tendency: Kill Primeval Demon (only appear at Pure Black Tendency) +75% , Kill Black Phantom Miralda +90 ( she is after The Gate at the begginig of first lvl wich open only ehen world tendency is Pure White or Pure Black) ten 30% for both dragons and some every bosses.
Do, best way is to go Black and Kill all The rest enemies offline. But u must travrl on foot. And you need to Kill archdemon to pass gate

No, teleport using the archstone and the changes will go into effect.

Killing bosses and invading players pushes you towards white. Dying in body form and killing NPCs pushes you towards black.

I already clear Boletarian except for King Allant. The world was PW, but for some reason go back to neutral (I don't know what happened, maybe I died in body form, but I don't remember of doing this, but I kill executioner Miralda as NPC not BP).

Yea, killing body form Miralda will drop your world tendency several points. You'll need to kill invading players, or the dragons, in order to bring it up to pure white.

Without online, the only way to do it is by killing bosses.
I killed all 3 of the bosses this video said and my world still isn’t white. Does this mean I have to kill the blue dragon some how?

Boss kills move the WT at around 30% per kill. But, every death, while living, moves toward black by 10%.

If you hit the Tower Knight in the head while he’s laying on the ground, it does an extreme amount of damage. They don’t even have to be heavy attacks.

For anyone new reading this, you should also use the sticky white stuff to put magic on your sword as soon as he falls over. Does loads more damage

Hey I wish I should’ve seen this earlier. I beat the tower knight but now my tendency is neutral. Will helping out others raise my tendency ? And if I kill the dragon does that necessarily mean it goes to pure white ?
Killing the dragon doesn't turn it pure white, it just gives 1 point towards white on the scale. Killing the blue dragon later on does as well. Unfortunately, co-opping has no effect. Killing invaders does, though, so you can always try your luck with that. But dying during PvP would be a death in body form, which drops your tendency, so it's a gamble.

The online tendency is only for the original version. In the original the action of other players does not affect you.

I started playing before researching and may have died in body form, not sure, but I killed the red dragon, the phalanx, the big fat boss (the one you fight in the beginning) the giant knight with the shield and you cut his feet/legs and I am still not pure white. How do I get it to pure white with no enemies left?

You can learn it by a sorcerer ventor. One appears in the nexus on his own and later you can rescue a Sage from Latria to learn higher level spells. Similar goes for miracles.
Does the Black Phantom Miralda still spawn if you killed her normal form first?

You can kill black phantom invaders (other players), or go to NG+ and kill the bosses again.

Dying in body form pushes you 1 point towards Pure Black, so it will make it so you need to do something to regain that point, such as killing a boss, invading black phantom, etc.

You need to get pure white in latria to rescue Rydell, since that's where he is. One world's tendency has no effect on the other.

Killing Executioner Miralda drops your tendency. The gate will stay open for the duration of that new game cycle, though.

I killed the red dragon and tower knight in ofline soul form and i have pure white tendency. Door is opened. Try offline play and in soul form. Before going in worlds die in Nexus. Dont die in worlds in body form. Hope this helps.

Killing Miralda in her Body Form will shift World Tendency towards Black (-3), but it won't have any effect on Character Tendency.
Killing Miralda in her Black Phantom form will shift both World Tendency (+3) and Character Tendency (+1) towards White.

I've completed 1-1 and 1-2 bosses, but I also died 1 time in each one as Human form (I didn't know about this until then).
If I went on and finished 1-3 and 1-4, would that automatically turn all of World 1 Pure White, or do I still need to do additional stuff? I guess the question is "Is killing the 1-4 boss enough to turn it all Pure White?"

To go past the fog wall after defeating tower knight, you need to defeat the final boss of any other world to get the soul of an archdemon. Once you do that, approach the fog wall after tower knight and it will go away.

You'll probably need to get invaded and kill other players, if you've already killed 2 bosses and the red dragon. I don't know if you'll get enough points from just killing the last 2 bosses and the blue dragon.
So if nobody invades me while playing online my world tendency still can change based on what other people online are doing in their games? I can't fathom that in some other house something someone does in their game that never involved my character being there or their character coming into my game, would affect my world tendency.
I was slightly mistaken in saying that. In the original PS3 version, that's how it worked. They removed this in the remake.

I have a question, I found a glowing green demon in the poison swamp level last night. I am not new to the series and played the original quite extensively on the PS3. I'm now playing on the PS5 and I'm literally staring at a glowing green monster and...I don't know what to make of it.
*Edit- I forgot to mention, I have only died a total of three times during my playthrough so far. I ran through a bunch of levels one after another in full body form. Meaning, I chanced dying and moving my world to black. The last time I died was in the poison swamp area. I got hung up on a piece of environment and one of the trolls constantly kept hitting me as I got up giving me no chance. My world should technically be the very first stage if white. I beat a phantom and the leech boss before dying once.

I did not but he sure looked really neat. He was one of the smaller guys that carry a club (not the big ones). He was standing at the end of the of world...I think it's 5-2. I don't play them in order so I have no idea (second part of the swamp). It's after the part where you can climb up the side of the cliff and wooden planks. They have giant mosquitos and the guys with the long sticks lit on fire. I should have fought him but I messed up and just got murdered by three huge troll guys. I wanted to get my souls back and it was so late I just went to bed. If I see him again I will snap a picture.

@@JS-fb6ww I'm sorry, but I really have no idea what you're referring to. Old King Doran guards a sword, and you get his armor when you kill him.
Tower Knight guards a big door that's covered in fog. You need the soul of an archdemon to pass through that fog. An archdemon is the final boss of a world.

You just meander your way around and get them to follow you to the top of the steps and fall off. That guy not the tower night. The tower night I got to and was killed in like half a second and had to go all the way back to the beginning. How come there were no checkpoints in this game?
I understood one thing. Souls game,better played in soul form. There is pure white and black. 1st playthrough mostly neutral, than newgame+ maybe go on pure white playthrough so can explore new events accordingly. While this playthrough,we can save all the stone of ephemeral eyes. Than again play as pure black (easiest way is to die and resurrect body and die) since it will introduce new enemies in each world and level. So 3 playthrough, you can mix and match with Mage,Strength, or quality built for each playthrough. This is how to get the complete experience.

For offline, you're relegated to just defeating bosses, since there aren't any PvP invasions.

No, helping others has to effect on your own world. You need to kill bosses and red phantom invaders.
Is there a way to read how many run throughs you've accomplished? Anyway, I've killed most NPCs out of frustration but I cannot kill the old monk. I remember it was easy at first. He's just invincible but he can't be. There's something he's weak to and I want to know what it is. He's killed me sooo many times like the fire blaze just sends him desperately dodging, then you're out of MP and he comes and kills you. Not right away but I tried black tar and had good results, still die. I can't out run him anymore. I'm in black leather and I'm as fast as I can get but there's no time to snort or cast warding every time I need it. He's made of magic. Does this mean that he's vulnerable to magic attacks? It doesn't seem like it but how would a magic being get poisoned or plague? Swords that pass through shields... He's not using one. Does the soul stealing thing do the trick? Usually bosses are exempt from easy outs like that. I know it doesn't work on others though it does take out the giant monkey man-eaters. Ironic since all primates are being killed and eaten all over the world. Their numbers are dropping fast and they were all in trouble to begin with because there are 8,000,000,000 Humans +/- and they don't care about anything but #1. I think the game wardens should do their job especially if it allows them to gun down these idiots. There are scores of highly urgent, critical problems that can only be solved by taking control. Hire rainforest burners, pay them in food and teach them how to protect these habitats. It takes me pages to scratch the surface of that one but the Earth needs habitat for Earth's animals. The rainforests and jungles are great habitats. We need to begin building places for humans underground. Leave the surface for critters. We polluted all the water. Too bad so sad, filter your water. Uh, where must animals drink? The polluted rivers dumshts. We've got to fix water on Earth. Why us? Because we showed everyone how to do it. Plastic needs to be removed from the oceans before the problem becomes impossible. Come on . I'm appealing to gamers because it seems gamers are smart. They like solving problems. Think how happy you'll be when you can breed tortoise numbers up and show them where fresh water is that's clean. There are tens of thousands of heart warming solutions. It's more urgent than people understand and I can't imagine where their brains are. Lose them and there's no reason to save the rest. Fk it. No, fix it now and enjoy their happiness for the rest of your life.
