- Carrier Infinity Thermostat Walkthrough I originally recorded this video to show a customer how to use his new Carrier Infinity Thermostat controlling a gas furnace with air conditioning. He wasn't home when we finished the install and i wanted to be sure he would know how to use the basic features.

One of my most watched videos from before I started posting regularly. I made the video for a customer who wasn't home when we finished the install so that he could learn how to use the basic features.
HVAC Controls: The Carrier Infinity Thermostat Walkthrough
Im sure you figured out how by now but i figured i'd respond. it's pretty basic and is on by default, if it gets turned off you simply press the blue button on the side for cooling or the red button on the side for heating. if you push both blue and red together then it'll be able to run heat and cooling on its own depending on temperature settings
How do you change it from Celsius to Fahrenheit please
confused about the fan when on auto what speed does it use?
How do I operate the heat? Jow do i make the hest LED flash on and off after selecting the desired temprature? Do i need to press heat again? In my case the heat LED is still lit and not flashing
The infinity control runs off of system power. If the display is blank check your breakers, and check for float switches anywhere near the cooling coil.
I am having a very similar problem to this video except in Cooling mode. Any ideas what could be causing this issue? Carrier Infinity Series thermostat problem
I have an infinity Thermostat. When you loose power to it and you are not around, it comes back on, but the system is off. Why is that? Is there anyway that can be changed?
I have that thermostat in my home. The video is very helpful, and shows features I didn't know that the thermostat has. (We bought our home with the existing Infinity HVAC system).
PROBLEM: The small tab has broken on the red "Heat" button. Is a replacement button available? If not, can I replace this thermostat with a newer Carrier thermostat, such as the SYSTXCCWIC01-B ? Is replacement a simple matter of connecting 4 wires, or does it take some programming of the furnace or AC unit? Thanks.
Yes, You could use a newer control
I just moved into a new house. The infinity thermostat is not showing anything on display and we cannot get it turned on. Is is battery powered? Is there tricks to get system turned on?
do you have a video for programing the Wi-Fi remote access for the infinity thermostat?
I'm sorry, I don't.
Thanks for the feed back everyone, what else would you like me to review?
Hey if you are still around here, how do I take it off the wall, I need to some wall repair and painting right around the controller.
Thanks
You should be able to simply pull the front off the wall. There is a seam between the back plate and the face.
I would like to know how to turn it on
How do I access lnstaller mode I have one that says call carrier professional for service
+Alex Cannova hold down the "advanced" button until the screen changes. Proceed at your own risk.
Thanks for this video Bro!I just learned something new, Good job!!!
I'm confused as to whether or not this system has an auto turn off feature. For example, whenever it reaches your desired temperature it'll automatically shut off until it reaches a temperature to turn it back on.
Been watching all your videos lately.
Funny I found this.. A buddy asked me if he can install a nest which will replace his carrier infinity stat like the one on this video. He took a picture of the sub base for me and its labeled A B C D then on the furnace it goes onto the board on terminal block A B C D.
There is a traditional r w c g y terminals on there too. Can I disconnect the abcd wires from the stat to the board and use that for the nest?
If their standard terminals are on the furnace board then yes but you will have to change the wiring on the AC as well
you'll lose the features of the Infinity controller.
Stephen Rardon that was my next question what are the features?
When I got to thinking of it the Original infinity control really doesn't have any feature of significance beyond what Nest can do. Infinity had one feature that Nest won't but its minor really, it would tell you when your static pressure was high which indicated needing to change the filter. Of course I had that happen more often when the duct system sucked
Stephen Rardon awesome bro thanks a lot! You're the man and keep uploading those videos.
How do I UNLOCK it?
Haven't dealt with a locked device yet, I'll check it out and get back to you.
Ok, pretty simple actually. The button on the top left side is the "dot" or "period". The button on the top right side is the "fan". Make sure you are on the main or home screen, which I guess you'd have to be if it's locked... Anyway, click and hold those buttons simultaneously for 2 seconds and release. The lock icon should disappear and you can use the device normally. Inversely if you wanted to lock it again do the same 2 buttons for 2 seconds. Good luck and thanks for watching!
Check out this video on UA-cam: one from a good while back. Not as many views as +topdoozie1 video on visionpro 8000 but it's been my hvac juggernaut.
You know there's a service mode for the infinity thermostat
yep, actually my favorite user interface for communicating systems. at one time there was very little i didn't know about that device. it's been a few years since i was neck deep into that device. i've lost familiarity but would probably pick it right back up. not a huge fan of the touch screen version though.
Yeah I'll tell you my favorite communicating system is the new water furnace envision 7 series it is the best that is out there. I've only worked on two of them though. Through the thermostat it tells you superheat subcooling discharge superheat. It will give you g.p.m. And temperature drop off loop. It will tell you amp draw and volts of the fan motor. amp draw and volts of the compressor and amp draw and volts of the flow Center. Water furnace is by far ahead of everyone
Nicholas Rowan you in a position to do a video on it?
I could totally do a video on it next time I am there servicing it. I have a job coming up where I have to change a check valve and flush loops would you be interested in me sending you a video of that?
I could briefly go over the systems that are there there are 2 envisions and one synergy system
That control is a piece of crap, buttons have thin plastic that will break over time
