We need AC - lolI don’t use the dehumidifier option - I’m not sure if it will leak in my house, since I did not install the small draining hose that came with it. May look into it late but I don’t worry about much humidity in the apartment. I don’t understand why the negative reviews since all things mentioned, I personally did not find issues with. Definitely worth it!

I bought the house with this and because I didn't know how to work it no directions, I was just pushing buttons thought I needed to call some one for the furnace but something told me check on UA-cam and thank goodness saved my self some money, however I still would like to have a direction book. Thanks this is the one that helped me so let's see if the heat works now
This Infinity control has been upgraded to a newer model called the Infinity Touch (WiFi & non-WiFi model). It is backwards compatible. Thank you Tim Perry.
@@cookiebailey4895 pressing the down temperature button will get you down 2 degrees temporarily. Then it reverts back to the programming. To override the programming, press Hold first and then press down 2 degrees.
I can't seem to enable the scheduled mode on my units either. It's kind of frustrating to see a schedule button which just doesn't do anything on either thermostat.
@@geffreyacosta8821 I figured it out. You have to hold the "Advanced" button for 10 seconds which puts you in super user mode essentially. From there you can get error codes, stats, and enable features like scheduling. Then the schedule button will work.

@@geffreyacosta8821 No. But I know you can alter the minimum time for HVAC to run and the deadzone temperature (how much + or - off the desired temp for it to keep running) in that super user mode. If that were happening to me, I would just cut power to the thermostat at the breaker, see if that helps, then turn it back on and see. If not, the relay on the AC may be messed up. I'm no technician though.
I have Carrier Infinity, installed 2008, the thermostat display light turned on by itself & won't turn off. Before, the light automatically turns off after a few seconds after touching the buttons. This is the first time this happened. I was able to turn it off by pressing on the "advanced" button but the same issue happens very often. How do you stop this issue from recurring? Is it an indication that something is malfunctioning?
Lot of times, thermostat shows 78 F. But it is cold in house. I raise it to 80 F. Furnace does not kick in. If I raise it to 85 F, Furnace kicks in 20 minutes later. Sometimes, Furnace kicks in 1 minute and sometimes after 20 minutes. Technician says there is nothing wrong. Furnace is only 7 years old. What is going on? Please reply.

We want to get another one to replace the existing one because it turns very yellow. The AC and thermostat were working fine.The AC guy came and didn’t know how to put the existing thermistor back and he said he needed to test the system. He said maybe the furnace is broken. My partner said everything is good but he is not at home. I told the AC guy to stop and he left. Then my partner came back and put existing thermostat back, now it shows malfunction. I could not get the fan to come on the screen as is mentioned in the instructions. Right now I set it manually and run it on high during high humidity. However, in the mornings when it is cooler the blower will run on high cooling the house down and turning off. But, in the afternoon when it is much hotter outside I cannot get it to run on high. Humidity builds up in the house because the air is not circulating fast enough and the blower fan is running on medium even though I still have it set to run on high. It runs and runs and runs and does not cool the house down. The inside temp slowly rises even though the AC is running nonstop. What is the problem?

It is blank without any display.. Does it use batteries? If so, how do I install them? If not, how do I turn it on? Could have used a little heat today.
button on the side says off press that to turn it on, even when off it displays the time and day and outside temp, if it is not on check your electric panel to make sure a breaker is not set to off/middle. we have one and it is causing all kinds of trouble now. thank goodness it did not happen during winter.
It has no Batteries in it -- gets power from the Main Unit where ever it might be mounted at. to reset it just pull off the wall and plug back in... I am looking for a replacement for mine -- a different model.. :) most all my buttons have ceased to work anymore - i had to drill small holes into the side by each button and i use a tooth pick to operate the buttons now LOL ....

@@kkandretti I had that problem and it took a technician to fix it. It turned out to be a broken wire leading to the heat exchanger outside of the house.

My thermostat keeps 'detecting "indoor" and then "outdoor" unit. I get a message - wrong configuration, max BTU is 48K instead of 60K btu. I do not have a way to change from 60K btu to 48K btu. HELP
My set humity for HEAT max is 45%. It's really dry in here and the windows are crap. My wife's hands are cracking and I haven't seen my skin this dry in a very very long time. So, I set it to max (45%) on manual. My unit also says 'Sens Error' and before I changed my heat humity to max the unit said my indoor humity was at 47%. Guess my question (s) is....am I doing anything wrong? Anything right?
Horrible thermostat/system design for the homeowner. I’m thrilled for Mr. Carrier who’s excited that he can change fonts and has hundreds of options for light indicators and away settings, but a simple operational option like on/off/auto where the temperature inside can be set….not so easy. It’s reads 72 outside, your thermostat is set for 74, but it reads 70 as the inside temperature! Ohhh, that’s because of the humidity (‘to avoid moisture build up on the windows”) so the system stays on and cools below your requested setting. You see, you’re not smart enough to know what you want….. And apparently either is the authorized dealer who designed and installed our system as they can’t explain it either.
This is the worst thermostat ever! I live in South FL so we have power outages quite a lot if we have storms. Every time the power is off for a couple of hours, my thermostat starts giving me error messages and says it can't communicate with the blower. Sometimes, I can fix it by turning my unit off for 30 minutes at the thermostat, as I have read to do. Sometimes, though, it does not work. Then, I have to call a tech and wait since this is S FL and everyone is calling the air techs. I have not ever had an air system that did this in all of my 35 years of home ownership. This unit was far to expensive to give me this headache every time the power goes out. I have tried to call Carrier before and they are absolutely no help whatsoever. They won't even address an issue and tell you if it is a common issue or not, even though people say it is all over the internet. I am so disappointed. If I had to do it all over again, I would have gotten a Trane.
LOL yes and if your Thermostat needs replacing, expect to pay a few hundred $$ for a new one, and it seems they are not compatiable with any after market brands. SAD

our infinity system is 10 years old and going crazy, it will have to replaced (1000 dollars thermostate that fails at 10 years what a peice of garbage is it set to fail to make money?) it wont let me change the heat keeps it at 40 degrees and it flies through the days and minutes when I try to adjust it, it wont let me set the temperature, at all. plus it also keeps the light on all the time. wont let me reset the filter, I feel like we got ripped off after spending 10,000 dollars for this whole system.
This was an easy to use thermostat- then ours failed! Had to get the new version which cost $800! And it’s so complicated I cannot program it! The. Our high end Infinity air conditioner developed issues. Turns out the thermal switch went bad which is part of the compressor so we needed a new compressor but Carrier no longer supplies them. So we had to pay nearly $8,000 for a whole new Air Conditioner! I your considering a new system look at other options other than Carrier! Parts need to be supplied for at least 29 to 3o years.
I'm confused as to whether or not this system has an auto turn off feature. For example, whenever it reaches your desired temperature it'll automatically shut off until it reaches a temperature to turn it back on.
It does that and you can also set it to hold a set temperature until you clear the hold and it will turn on and off whichever heat or AC is needed as selected to maintain the held temp.
I used to have an air circulation mode on that moved air to keep from any areas of the house from being either too cold or hot. Something seems to have changed that and I don't notice just air flow as it was.
The explanation was very good, EXCEPT that you did not explain how to change some of the items you covered. For example: in the hybrid mode screen, you said you did not want to change anything for YOUR house. I don't live in YOUR house. I want to change the thing in MY house. It has a nice notice saying that you can't change those entries until you turn off the heat. You also don't cover how to do that. A simple tour of what is on each screen is not that useful. I can see that by reading the screen in most cases.
mine has changed the outside temperature it is 80 outside and now it reads -36 so my ac isn't working even if I put it on cool. not sure how it went up and decided to change its own temperature outside. I need to know how to change it back the temperature to the right temperature outside can anybody help me
I will never buy a Carrier product if for no other reason than this thermostat.... It is the most unintuitive thermostat controller I have ever experienced.... Carrier, you need to add maybe another twenty or so more buttons to make up for your inability to design a thermostat properly!
Carrier app is crap. Don't buy infinity thermostat if you can avoid it. Thousands of reviews cannot be wrong. It keeps freezing up even after you figure its horrible interface out. Why carrier would design a premium product (furnaces, heat pumps etc) and then not spend money to get the interface to work and piss off loyal customers is beyond me. Just try to get your installer to do the Ecobee6 from that start
FYI: Your Infinity system has infinity -malfunctions and no help, so effectively you have built an un-usable system , you should be proud of it. malfunction has no code, on 400$ to hvac guy, great. I think we should all boycott this garbage co.

That is the $800 Wi-Fi unit. I have the non Wi-Fi $400 unit. Humidifier and dehumidifier is required during installation to have those operations.

Best you call a technician -- there is an electronic control board mounted outside and inside -- could be either one of those.

All you have to do is press Hold and then set the AC temperature so high that it'll never activate. Only the fan will operate.

You probably had a Sensor go bad in the outside unit on its control board... best call a Technician
