that was genius way to draw that curve, as you have perfect controcl over geometry of the curve evnthough it takes little more time to draw. thanks for idea and uploading this nice video.
klrhc2 It might be due to associative array, select fin after making an array and write X in command line and press enter. then try to make union let me know if you still have problems
SourceCAD Thank you very much! I had the same problem, I couldn't union the array with the base and cylinder. Just selecting fins and them command x (explode), the union finally worked!
There is no Surface tab in my version Autocad 2010,so I was unable to complete the surface part .where could I find it or any command for surfacing those kind of objects.
+ABDUL JAFAR Are you using AutoCAD LT? AutoCAD LT has limited capabilities and its probably the reason you are unable to see 3D ribbon. Moreover if you have full version AutoCAD then you can turn on 3D tabs by right clicking in empty space of ribbon and selecting the required ribbon from contextual menu.
When I try to do the lines at 5:15 , it forces me to connect the horizontal lines to the endpoint of the vertical line. How do I unlock it so I can put the lines wherever I want? I have Node 'on' in the OSNAP menu by the way.
Lucas B you can turn off OSNAP temporarily by pressing f3 to avoid snapping at unwanted points moreover you can also select a command then press SHIFT+RIGHT CLICK a contextual menu will appear select point which you want to snap and only those points will be activated for snapping.
prudhvi sriramula as far as AutoCAD is concerned there is no PULL option although PRESSPULL option is present and if you want to know difference between them I suggest you to go to this video ua-cam.com/video/uiVVxWsJPVM/v-deo.html
yeah, its presspull and thanks for the explanation in the video dat was so clear and easy to understand.. and all of your videos are very usefull and easy to pratice by own.. a suggection by my side is make sure there is no noise in your videos. thanks once again.
prudhvi sriramula I am glad that it helped Prudhvi, And thanks for your suggestion my old videos are a bit noisy but all my new videos have clear voice quality.
***** for applying union you need to first use THICKEN command on fins and set some thickness to it and also make sure that central cylinder mates (intersects) with fins. If both the methods fail try this select array of fins and press X then enter then try to UNION (associative array objects cant union this might be the case)
Annisa Maharani I am really sorry Annisa but I never used AutoCAD 2008 my first software was 2010 I might not be able to answer this but you can always check AutoCAD forums for quick answers from users of older AutoCAD versions.
I had the same problem, Explode the array which you have made by selecting all fins and then type X and press enter. Erase all the base and create a new base ( same radius 20, extrude -2) then union command for all. I don't know why, but it works... =)

Once the fins have been turned into a polar array how do you get them to connect with the base and cylinder using the 'union' command. Mine wont work.
klrhc2 It might be due to associative array, select fin after making an array and write X in command line and press enter.
then try to make union let me know if you still have problems
It worked!!!!! Thank you very much!!!!!!

Explode the array which you have made by selecting all fins and then type X and press enter. Then try using Union command again.
