    that was genius way to draw that curve, as you have perfect controcl over geometry of the curve evnthough it takes little more time to draw. thanks for idea and uploading this nice video.

    There is no Surface tab in my version Autocad 2010,so I was unable to complete the surface part .where could I find it or any command for surfacing those kind of objects.

    • @sourcecad
      @sourcecad  8 років тому

      +ABDUL JAFAR Are you using AutoCAD LT? AutoCAD LT has limited capabilities and its probably the reason you are unable to see 3D ribbon. Moreover if you have full version AutoCAD then you can turn on 3D tabs by right clicking in empty space of ribbon and selecting the required ribbon from contextual menu.

    Once the fins have been turned into a polar array how do you get them to connect with the base and cylinder using the 'union' command. Mine wont work.

    • @sourcecad
      @sourcecad  9 років тому +2

      klrhc2 It might be due to associative array, select fin after making an array and write X in command line and press enter.
      then try to make union let me know if you still have problems

    When I try to do the lines at 5:15 , it forces me to connect the horizontal lines to the endpoint of the vertical line. How do I unlock it so I can put the lines wherever I want?
    I have Node 'on' in the OSNAP menu by the way.

    • @sourcecad
      @sourcecad  9 років тому

      Lucas B you can turn off OSNAP temporarily by pressing f3 to avoid snapping at unwanted points moreover you can also select a command then press SHIFT+RIGHT CLICK a contextual menu will appear select point which you want to snap and only those points will be activated for snapping.

    good job , i guess now inventor is much better than autocad for mechanical drawings and much easier

    • @sourcecad

      Ahmad Muammar yes inventor is definitely better at modelling mechanical designs but AutoCAD still holds its monopoly in 2d drafting :)

    whats the difference between pull option and extrude option??

    • @sourcecad
      @sourcecad  9 років тому

      prudhvi sriramula as far as AutoCAD is concerned there is no PULL option although PRESSPULL option is present and if you want to know difference between them I suggest you to go to this video

    I did all this steps but when I started to make union it doesn't work , how I fix this knowing that I turn on OSNAP !what's the problem

  • @TheJsoundish

    for some reason I cant get my " union" to work

    • @sourcecad
      @sourcecad  9 років тому +6

      ***** for applying union you need to first use THICKEN command on fins and set some thickness to it and also make sure that central cylinder mates (intersects) with fins.
      If both the methods fail try this
      select array of fins and press X then enter then try to UNION (associative array objects cant union this might be the case)

    how to make network in autocad 2008??? i'm stucked!

    • @sourcecad
      @sourcecad  9 років тому

      Annisa Maharani I am really sorry Annisa but I never used AutoCAD 2008 my first software was 2010 I might not be able to answer this but you can always check AutoCAD forums for quick answers from users of older AutoCAD versions.

    • @sourcecad
      @sourcecad  7 років тому +1

      Explode the array which you have made by selecting all fins and then type X and press enter. Then try using Union command again.

    • @jtdangster
      @jtdangster 7 років тому +1

      I had the same problem, Explode the array which you have made by selecting all fins and then type X and press enter. Erase all the base and create a new base ( same radius 20, extrude -2) then union command for all.
      I don't know why, but it works... =)
