1 ‘Gigantic, gigantic, gigantic - a big, big love.’

Remember kids, Jesus died for nothing if you don't sin.

It's funny. When I was a believer, I told myself that my religion didn't degrade my self-worth, but elevated it. Because of Jesus' sacrifice, I was made into a son of God, with infinite worth. But now that I'm free of my past delusions, I can see the obvious flaw in that logic. If the entirety of my self-worth depends on what someone else did for me, then there is nothing inherently valuable about myself. Religion programmed me to see myself as a wretched being, utterly broken and deserving of eternal punishment. I was programmed to feel guilty about a man who died thousands of years ago, and was made to believe that my very existence was the cause of Jesus' pain. Christianity doesn't elevate self-worth, it makes believers to believe that they are worthless.

Have I ever mentioned how comforting I find your voice? It's like a down comforter and cup of hot chocolate on a cold, damp day.

I actually asked this "How do you find happiness in heaven when you're conscious of loved ones burning in hell" to ha pastor, who really answered: "God will make sure you won't care about that anymore." Thank you very much, but what if I don't want to NOT care about that, because I actually LOVE these people?

Everywhere you go, people create god in their own image, as a simple but very effective tool to justify their own beliefs and actions, and force them onto others with promises of great reward and awful punishment for failing to comply. Sounds an awful lot like social engineering and psychological warfare to me...

My mother used to talk about Jeffrey Dahmer, and how he converted to Christianity before his death. She would use this not only as an example of God's boundless forgiveness and love but also to say that no matter what you were in life, all that truly mattered was your faith in Christ. To this day I am discouraged as an Atheist and Buddhist that no matter what kind of man I am, I will always be less than an insane cannibalistic serial killer in the eyes of my family. I am hurt by this and don't know how I can ever really feel at home or loved by my family. The pain is one that cuts deeper than any knife ever could.

God-sent himself die as a sacrifice to himself to appease himself for the price that he demanded. How does that make sense?

Was a JW for 27 years and what led me out was my kids leaving and me knowing that I would not shun them or abandon them, that led me to do research about the organization and I found out they were lying about things. Love this channel, it’s taught me about narcissistic relationships and helped me a lot!

I’m glad you also talked about Islam. Most people talk about christianity alone when it comes to abusive religions, but Islam also preaches dangerous mindsets. I love your videos!

    1) The idea of punishing Adam/Eve for being ignorant, 2) The idea of killing an innocent man, 3) The idea of killing as a requirement to forgive

“Religions that break up friends and family have nothing to teach me about love” Amazing line. I know lots of people have already commented it, but I just needed to commit that to memory real quick

The "No Give, All Take" and needy demands for submission should be easy to notice, but quite often the social aspect of religion, and early indoctrination, smooth over those warning signs. The awkward "Can you feel it?" is merely evidence of hubris for those who exploit natural tendencies of peer pressure and familial trust. These videos reveal what's at play.

The UA-cam ad algorithm in it's infinite wisdom decided that the appropriate ad to sit beside this video was one for a site that promises to help Muslims find a spouse. I suppose "degrading love" and a religion tag seemed to make the perfect match for that ad and I can't help to agree.

I'm nearing what I believe is the final stage of my transition out of Christianity. I still have the occasional doubt, but can generally discredit them with logic and reason from a variety of angles. These kinds of videos help prepare me for what comes next: Living in the world as a confident atheist. I don't need to justify my choices to anyone, but I need to understand my own reasoning so I can offer help to others who might be struggling.
