The christian god antagonizes any other deities or spiritual symbols and thus the faith and it's followers demonizes all others. It's why I think it really is the demiurge but I don't believe this world is torture.
Hearing you describe the actual meaning of the arm positions and other imagery on the iconic Baphomet drawing helps me understand the actual symbolism and possibly realise that that "satanic" imagery isn't actually a bad thing like so many Christians think. I don't know, I'm not religious or anything like that, but all that stuff about spiritualism, the importance of holiness/sacredness, love and kindness... correct me if I'm wrong, but those all sound like good things. This kind of stuff is why I've fallen down a rabbit hole, watching your SMT videos as a huge fan of the series and starting a very small interest in folklore and deities.
Beautifully said! Have a look at Jordan Maxwell, Avatar Adi Da Samraj, The Women's Encyclopedia of Myths and Secrets, Nesta Webster, Signs and Symbols of Primordial Man, Mythology's Last God's, and The Element Encyclopedia of Secret Societies. A person being kind or showing kindness does not mean that person is a good person. A person who appears sacred does not mean that person is actually holy, they might be evil on the inside. This is how Satanism lure naive people like you in their realm and groom you to become part of their cult, you have a lot to learn that friend.
Philo- You needed that philo and you would've nailed it. Sophia is wisdom. I read somewhere that the Knight's Templar had a deity that the fetish of which consists of a, asses head on a stick. This particular deity's role in Templar ceremonial magick was to be stood up in the center of a small room and surrounded by knights all of whom would curse the fetish while striking it with objects, beating it with their fists and kicking it. I wish I could remember the title of the book I read of this in because it was super interesting and what really brought it to mind now was the name it was believed to be called by, Baphomet, which that little book also pointed out was likely a corruption of Mohammed. I enjoyed that mental movie of a little ceremony because it's massively reminiscent of the Old Testament/Pentateuch scapegoat idea and makes a whole lot of sense from a psychodrama point of view. An entity onto which one can project the aspects of oneself and the world one lives in that one dislikes or even despises and then through a physical act of victimless violence, sort of, exorcise those aspects by beating the crap out of their material sheath or ritual embodiment. A group act that can still function effectively on an individual level for each member of that group. Damn, that was a good little book. I'm afraid I'll never remember what it was called or who authored it. The word "Greene" comes to mind, but that could just be a brain fart. Super interesting topic. Enjoyed the video. Thank you.
Amazing vid Tony, although Levis artwork eyes feel like its staring at me. Hopefully you can do Sophia next from Gnosticism. Her appearance in SMTV maybe lore accurate? Regardless good vid. 10/10!
@@Tony4You It as far off from Baphomet as possible. Would've been fun to hear your thoughts about it. Maybe in a future video discussing "off" or weird SMT designs?
Baphomet has no known connections with gnosticism, it does however have an interesting story about how the inquisitors used the word "bahphomet" as a cypher for Sophia towards the new initiates. The new recruits were forced to walk behind a goat and kiss it's anus witch would reveal itself to be the face of their goddess, a mockery of Sophia.
He's an extremely kind and comforting figure to me. One of the only times I experienced smelling a spirit was while with them. They smelled like the sweetest strawberries and cream. And his boobs are awesome. And to me, he is fluffy, and soft, with orangish fur, extremely comforting in feeling. He helped me find peace in my gender, and he helped me learn to not feel ashamed of being both a trans man, and also a genderfluid, nonbinary person, who myself has breasts and androgenous features that once caused me immense pain and distress. But seeing Baphomet helped and continues to help me find peace in my gender, and helped me to embody a spiritual balance too. When I really needed balance in my life he came to me and helped me so much. This reminded me, I should reach out to them again soon. I actually really could use some more balance on something.
That's a lot of stuff I didn't know about baphomet, totally seeing the goat god in a whole new light. Oh by the by my fellow prentice, are you looking forward to P3 reload? A trip down memory lane 🤩
Thank you Tony for being open minded. You have done a great deed for the world and all of man kind. by helping everyone understand true history that Christianity serpressed for the last 5000 plus years.
Christianity hasn't been around for 5000 years to suppress anything for that long and the classical depiction of baphomet is a literal description of what's in the bible itself Nice try tho.
Interesting how the games create this reverence for beings that have been worshipped for thousands of years. And everyone is so casual and matter-of-fact about it. Sick stuff and show you how easy humans can slip into worship of evil / false idols.
Interesting. I never knew about the concept of Baphomet being a representation of balance and equilibrium of opposites. I don't know why I initially thought of it as being a pagan god of fertility. While it may not be similar, I'm immediately reminded of Ardha, another diety that also has both masculine and feminine traits representing a form of synthesis.
its based on the flawed Gnostic take on the dialectic. where with normal logic the thesis and anti-thesis are supposed to weed out all falsities to come towards the refined truth the synthesis. the gnostic/hermetic/alchemy will try to force two contradicting ideas and assume both are always thru. which is a paradox but, not everything is a paradox. the first logical method will find a paradox if it exists. the Gnostic method assumes every conflicting idea/concept is a paradox. so the concept a perfect 2 + another perfect 2 = 4 with gnostism you can say 2+2 = 5 or 7, a tree or a cow. then when the logical person proves its nonsense there is no synthesis , but the gnostic way supports ignorance and ego, so then when the dialectic is used the gnostic will just say well both are true and combine the two in any wierd mental gymnastic way they can. which just makes a impure synthesis full of flaws. and with each further gnosic synthesis the concept become even more wacky but the BS is more convincing and become better at deceiving because, there is a bit of genuine truth still inside the statement.
@@n13475The artist did not make it with the intention of it being a god. He stressed this so that people WOULDN'T. Baphomet canonically is purely a symbol of duality, anything you suggest is from people who hijacked it.
Great video as always, but id like to add some things: The solve and coagula are a reference to the alchemical concept of "solve et coagula"; dissolve and coagulate, meaning that things in a rough state shall be dissolved and then brought together again so it can be purified from many of its imperfections, analogous to the human soul, which is always perfecting itself. The position of the arms themselves-one pointing upward, the other downwards- is referring to the hermetic concept of "as above, so below", also seen in The Lord's prayer(thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven). Referencing hermes, it also attributes the polar opposites that are often seen in Hermetics. There is also another interpretation for the elements shown on Elipha's depiction; The fire burning between his horns represent the dominion of man over fire, the scales on his stomach represent the dominion of man over eater, the wings the dominion of man over the air(although this interpretation is a bit weird since airplanes werent invented when elipha lived) and since Baphomet is seated on a mound, it also represents the dominion of man over earth.
I just recently started reading about Gnosticism and i find that they're very similar to ancient Babylonian religions. Just found similarities and i think that The Knights Templar was made out to be Gnostics which i dont think they were. I think they were Christians and the king of France stabbed them in the back bc they didn't win The Crusades and he owed them a lot of money.
Baph was the first demon I ever fused that actually looked like a demon, I thought he looked so cool. He holds a special place in my heart, I never fused him into anything and kept him as is 😅
@@labeilleautiste6318Baphomet is not a demon, and the artist of the original work was very clear in this. Baphomet is meant to symbolise duality, two halves coming together. Human and beast, man and woman. The words written on its arms are old words, I think maybe latin for dissolve and coagulate. Literally melt and harden together, as one.

Baphomet was actually Ba’al, one of the knights was arrested with a small idol of Ba’al which the French confused for having a goats head. What they believed was a pentagram was actually the Star of David. ✡️. The templars were funded and controlled by the Jewish and that group actually worship Ba’al. They wanted the land and to have people indebted to them so they recruited an army of knights to do their bidding. The origin of the name Baphomet was a Templar saying Ba’al and then a second word but was misheard. None of these knights would give up the name and some may have never known of Ba’al as they were mostly kept in the dark. The usury banking and dismantling societies with degeneracy are weapons wielded by the same group time and time again throughout history
As an alchemy enthusiast i can absolutely assure you that Baphomet doesnt represents neither good or evil.it actually represent something so holy if people knew. Its absolutely not satanic. It represents the union and balance of all duality. Its an alchemical symbol before all. Its also not a demon as many people think. Actually, baphomet is probably the depiction of a cherub angel, cherub or cherubim are angels with four faces and one of its face or head, is a goat. But thats my theory. Write cherub angel on google image and you will understand my point
There were no ottoman rule at that time, Jerusalem was under the fattimi shia'a rule, including Egypt, the rest of the Islamic countries were under the abbssi sunni arabic rule
So what are the deeper meanings of (' solve AKA dissolve') &. (' cuagle AKA coagulate')...?????????????........ I'm sure you could break it down to a simple shorter version of what it deep meanings are........... I would truly like to know and I'm sure others would like to know as well. 😉. xo
knights templar spitting and desecrating the cross is from islamic eschatology where in second coming, Jesus will break the cross, the symbol of his divinity, and also to tell every christians that he was never been a god.

Because it was a diety worshiped instead of God and it looks scary. Therefore, it is evil according to most people.

The christian god antagonizes any other deities or spiritual symbols and thus the faith and it's followers demonizes all others. It's why I think it really is the demiurge but I don't believe this world is torture.
it's the guy that summons mara in smt3
5:45 that guy is named lord farquaad
I apologize for mixing book titles between Author names.
Peace and Love
A person being kind or showing kindness does not mean that person is a good person. A person who appears sacred does not mean that person is actually holy, they might be evil on the inside. This is how Satanism lure naive people like you in their realm and groom you to become part of their cult, you have a lot to learn that friend.
@@kthxpls Well, thankfully, I'm not planning on being in any cults anytime soon! 🤣
Thank you.
I saw Bathophet years ago in New Orleans. He appead to me. He said everything is alright. And it was. Mark Parisi from Las Vegas 😅
Amazing vid Tony, although Levis artwork eyes feel like its staring at me.
Hopefully you can do Sophia next from Gnosticism. Her appearance in SMTV maybe lore accurate?
Regardless good vid. 10/10!
Thanks a lot! The artwork always leaves me wonderstruck too haha
wake up babe new Tony4You
Baphomet is my favorite demon in SMT and I even have a couple of plushes of them too.
The Profanity of your opening statement!!!
I can’t say I’m shocked. I always wondered where this came from. And I wouldn’t call the Catholic Church holy by any means
What about SMT 2 baphomet?
I thought of adding it, but I sincerely have no idea what that was all about. Probably just an interpretation of templar's confessions
@@Tony4You It as far off from Baphomet as possible. Would've been fun to hear your thoughts about it. Maybe in a future video discussing "off" or weird SMT designs?
"Mom its not sabbath i'm hanging with the boys"
Very interesting video
Finally some recognition
My favorite funny goat I try to use him in every smt game
He's always an awesome demon
The knights templars never worshiped baphomet that was made up by the king of France who owed them money and used it as an excuse to massacre them
If only there were TEN COMMANDMENTS that could stop these wars.
Sounds very freemason-y
But that’s nonsense. Just made up for the trial...
Very good video ☀️🖤🤘🏻
The new templars is the music industry and hollywood
Thanks for watching, and yeah I am absolutely looking forward to all the new Atlus releases. Hopefully I'll cover them on the channel
I'm telling my kids the Knights Templar was the original Salvation Army.
My buddy Baphomet was unable to beat the demonic allegations 😔
Thank you Tony for being open minded. You have done a great deed for the world and all of man kind. by helping everyone understand true history that Christianity serpressed for the last 5000 plus years.
Christianity hasn't been around for 5000 years to suppress anything for that long and the classical depiction of baphomet is a literal description of what's in the bible itself
Nice try tho.
It's easy to mistake it for a pagan fertility god based on the newer depictions, but the occult symbol is just fantastic
It's still a false God, thats the whole point of it trying to have duality
its based on the flawed Gnostic take on the dialectic. where with normal logic the thesis and anti-thesis are supposed to weed out all falsities to come towards the refined truth the synthesis.
the gnostic/hermetic/alchemy will try to force two contradicting ideas and assume both are always thru. which is a paradox but, not everything is a paradox. the first logical method will find a paradox if it exists. the Gnostic method assumes every conflicting idea/concept is a paradox.
so the concept a perfect 2 + another perfect 2 = 4
with gnostism you can say 2+2 = 5 or 7, a tree or a cow.
then when the logical person proves its nonsense there is no synthesis , but the gnostic way supports ignorance and ego, so then when the dialectic is used the gnostic will just say well both are true and combine the two in any wierd mental gymnastic way they can. which just makes a impure synthesis full of flaws. and with each further gnosic synthesis the concept become even more wacky but the BS is more convincing and become better at deceiving because, there is a bit of genuine truth still inside the statement.
@@n13475The artist did not make it with the intention of it being a god. He stressed this so that people WOULDN'T. Baphomet canonically is purely a symbol of duality, anything you suggest is from people who hijacked it.
Great video as always, but id like to add some things:
The solve and coagula are a reference to the alchemical concept of "solve et coagula"; dissolve and coagulate, meaning that things in a rough state shall be dissolved and then brought together again so it can be purified from many of its imperfections, analogous to the human soul, which is always perfecting itself.
Very well explained, thanks for watching and enjoying!
@@Tony4You no problem, your videos are really enjoyable

Fun Fact: It's actually pronounced like "Bahamut"
Thank you. I’m a child of the King of Kings.
I'd never take my wisdom from mutton my guy.
He me dad. He also ruled Russian in Hearts Of Iron 4
FYI: If you no for Tony, Tony no for you.
Slander of the knights Templar they were simply too powerful so the king killed them
I have solve and coagula tattooed on the respective arms!
Baph was the first demon I ever fused that actually looked like a demon, I thought he looked so cool. He holds a special place in my heart, I never fused him into anything and kept him as is 😅
he has a special place in a lot of people's hearts
Scary to Say this kind of thing about a demon 😬
@@labeilleautiste6318 so true
@@labeilleautiste6318Baphomet is not a demon, and the artist of the original work was very clear in this. Baphomet is meant to symbolise duality, two halves coming together. Human and beast, man and woman. The words written on its arms are old words, I think maybe latin for dissolve and coagulate. Literally melt and harden together, as one.

Yeah this dude!! You could say Baphomet is the GOAT.
Did Eliphas Levi invent Baphomet?
I would think the semi-circle would represent the firmament. But why the scales?? Representing the fallen angles? The snake from the Garden Of Eden?
He did say it has other symbolic meanings that would “take ages” to go over but it’s definitely not satanic, not sure about occultism or what is its beliefs but it’s really interesting
In fact satanism came much later
