Oh boy, this is the episode that everyone has been waiting for you to watch
yepp!
It is but Game of Thrones isn't done kicking you in the nuts 😂
How in the world would anyone wait for her to watch this... probably the least reactive reaction channel I've ever seen. I stayed around for the crying (lol) but I will probably never be back.
She pulls 10x more facial expressions in a single tiktok than she did this entire video. Painful.
@@wastingtime9004this is interesting feedback. What do you look for in a reactor?
If you had read the book in the past. So when I get to watch it with a friend and did notice the title of the episode and I thought "oh shite, this is going to drive them crazy". With evil laughter, they thought I was being weird. Then I was very satisficed of the reaction from my friend when the end of the episode happen.
The good thing about this episode. Hound shows he really has a good heart. Saving yet another Stark girl. :(
when this first aired, the bookreaders knew what was coming but did a great job collectively just smiling and knowing the trauma that was coming. I watched this with a big group of friends and I was legit the only one who knew.
Scenes like this make me glad I didn’t read the books first.
@@xGojoSatoruu Agreed. Though it's more brutal in the show with a way darker outcome than in the book; that really shocked me when I got to that chapter.
I still bawled my eyes out :') Michelle Fairley did an amazing job at bringing the emotions I had from the book back to life.
I’ll never forget all my friends looking at me like I murdered everyone because I knew it was coming and didn’t let on at all😂
this is the episode that started the whole "react to" phenomenon on YT
Perhaps we may have noticed Tywin writing letters off in the corner throughout this season. This is exactly what he was planning all along.
Lannisters did send their regards.
The Starks were well known as fierce warriors. And Robb was proving to be an excellent commander. The Lannisters used their strength, political maneuvering, to the their advantage.
When I first watched Game of Thrones, I had heard something about "The Red Wedding" but didn't know what it was referring to. When they showed Sansa and Tyrion's wedding, I assumed that must have been "The Red Wedding" since red is the Lannister color and I thought "well, that wasn't so bad." LOL.
lol so you were caught totally unaware
I'll always remember the next day at the office after this episode... Nearly everyone was congregated at a water cooler, a printer, or the floor cafeteria in small groups talking about this episode and hearing OMG resonate from all of them in every other sentence. One of the most shocking endings of any TV show in history.
it wasnt that shocking even without reading the book just knowing the game & real life you should have seen it coming especially with a perv creep like Fray
Luckily I work with people who can read books, so we were exposed to this scene a decade ago.
@@chand911and? That doesn't make you any better than anyone else. 😂
@chand911 That's a weird, gratuitously negative comment. Feel better?
@@chand911 LOL 90% of Americans & like 70% of the world can read these days it's not about who can or can't read & what they read & listen to that matter..
In the books, Catelyn insists that if Robb is offered food and drink, that he immediately accept, if it is not offered he must ask. She wanted to ensure he had guest right before she felt safe enough.
Oh Stef u sweet summer child. It will be okay. Thats the real baptism to game of thrones. Ned was just the intro
She is no longer a sweet summer child, but a woman of winter!
The episode that launched a thousand reaction channels 👁👄👁
The genre wasn't really a thing until the Red Wedding
the episode that started reaction channels
? maybe not to you.
For me it was rogue 1 that started reaction channels. That hallway.
What came first? The red wedding or rogue 1?
@@mrborgeusborg1541 Rogue One is three years after "The Rains of Castemere".
@@mrborgeusborg1541 Red Wedding was 2013, Rogue One was 2016 I believe.
Legit reaction! you have stoically survived the red wedding. being speechless is very normal, and good for you for continuing!
0:22 Such an innocent face. She has no idea what she is about to experience.
it's crazy that the red wedding literally BIRTHED the reaction video genre on youtube more than 11 years ago and it's still giving us premium react content to this day
Praise be the red wedding
Except it didn't the reaction genre existed before GoT even came out
Stop repeating that ridiculous statement on every reactor's channel.
It didn’t create the reaction channel. It definitely gave them serious velocity, though.
That's not even remotely true. You're bad at the internet.
On the Song that alerts Cat & plays through the credits. the "The Rains of Castamere", tells the story of how Tywin Lannister squashed a rebellion by House Reyne against his father. Tywin, Damned a river and diverted it into the tunnels and mines under the Reyne's Castle knowing they hid their when under siege. for years after it was Said that whenever Tywin wanted to threaten another house, he would send them a bard to sing the song and remind them of what he was capable of.
It's the Lannisters' House song. No-one else should be playing it, except to please Lannisters.
One of the wildest endings to a episode in history just bam straight into it
i been waiting for her to get to this episode , the entire world was shocked with this episode and felt the way you feel right now ! funny fact that the guy who wrote the books said he was inspired by a real life family in history that was slaughtered at a funnel like this !
The day has arrived.
I shouldn’t have been watching this while at work. Catelyn’s wail when Rob’s fate is final is so gut wrenching! I can’t watch the Red Wedding without getting simultaneously sad and pissed! 😂 I so wish they had included Lady Stoneheart in the show!!! 🧟
Oh, she's reached the episode! Buckle up and welcome to Game of Thrones! We've just begun!
I haven't provided you with the hospitality you deserve.
Stef, if you remember that lore video you watched in season 1, at 1:09:20 there is a very quick explanation of "The Rains of Castemere" by Tywin, but here on YT there is also a detailed explanation by Jamie... it justifies the name of this episode...
This is what makes GOT so different to most things you watch on TV. No one is safe. People you invest in , can and do die. Good, bad, or indifferent .
this episode started the reaction video genre in youtube
also he lost the war the day he married his wife
The tragic thing is that the only reason this happened was simply because Robb broke his oath. Had he married one of Walder Frey's daughters he may have kept his banners especially the Boltons and Karstarks. It would have made things even harder for Tywin to find a way to defeat Robb.
@@richardtaylor1652 That is why I have no sympathy for the Starks. They were fools and met their untimely end, just like their father, Ned.
@@mikef2811 Likewise. If they really wanted to keep Walder Frey on side, Cat should have made Robb marry one of the Frey daughters right there and then, before they crossed the Twins.
On top of that he should have listened to Roose Bolton. He was actually giving Robb solid council but when it became clear the tide was turning and Robb's arrogance was getting the better of him, you cannot really blame him for plotting with Walder Frey to bring down the Stark's and Tully's.
@@richardtaylor1652 Yep. Bolton is like I cannot save someone who does not want to be saved. Robb ending his Bannermen's life did not help Robb's case either. Yet he spares his mom's life. He became a hypocrite. You simply cannot punish one and then spare another and expect people to follow you.
With that said..Ned is the one that started it all due to his self-righteousness. He had several opportunities to end this...Instead, he warns Cercsei to leave. Along with not siding with Renly when Renly approached him. But Ned insists that Stannis is the rightful heir. So Cercsei plotted against Ned and Ned ended up in the afterlife.
I remember this when it originally aired. This is the episode that made GOT legendary. People were talking about this for a whole year until the next season came out.
You missed it.
She said that Sam was like a wizard.
At the wall Sam told Jon that he wanted to be a wizard when he was a kid.
Knocking it out of the park with these last few Stef...
Keep it up Beautiful! ♥
You handled the Red Wedding way different than most people I know! Many of them swore to never watch GoT again!! But they did... I am glad you didn't forswear the show either! Of course, most of them didn't pay attention to the chainmail that Roose Bolton had on under his jacket either. (Or that the band played "The Rains of Castemere." As for Jon Snow, well, he had to leave her since bringing her back as his wildling bride would have meant he broke his vows and would subject him to beheading, not to mention the abuse that would be put upon Ygritte for being a wildling. Death might be her best outcome. At least if she stayed with the wildlings, he betrayed her so they have a common enemy. She'd live. The Hound is the person who has Arya. You are right though. Effectively, the war is over.
Jon left to warn his Brothers at The Wall, that Mance Rayder was marching on Castle Black, and that small groups of wildlings had scaled The Wall and were planning on attacking the Night’s Watch from the rear.
No he left because they realised he wasn’t one of them and they were trying to kill him
@@Jimmyconway77 Well yes, he obviously left at that particular time because they were trying to kill him. But as you say, he was not one of them, he was still a Crow, and as he later told Ygritte, he had to "go home now.” Home to The Wall and Castle Black to warn his Brothers.
We have all been counting the episodes waiting for this.. I saw a few subtle comments. 'nearly there'
💜💜 Stef, you are now watching individual episodes of this brilliant series at once! But we had to wait a whole year for each new series, can you imagine? A very long time! And 1 billion people around the world were waiting too! This was the most watched TVseries in the world, unimaginably popular everywhere! It was a joy, believe me! Have a nice evening and don't cry anymore.-)) 💜💜
Made even worse for those of us who decided to read the books at any point in those first 2 seasons on HBO. Because we KNEW what was coming down the line, and it was all so crazy!
Congrats on making it through the series so far, this is the hardest scene you're probably going to watch, so think of this episode as: The price for rewards.
This was tough ... Hold the Door is mine
yeah rigth xD
Hugs and salty kisses, Stef, it's a right of passage and we had to put you through it, we share your pain... 😁
The actor who played Talisa is Oona Chaplin, and has some pretty famous family. She is the daughter of actress Geraldine Chaplin, granddaughter of the late great Charlie Chaplin, and great-granddaughter of American playwright and Nobel laureate, Eugene O'Neal.
Kitt Harrington, the actor playing Jon Snow, and Leslie Rose, playing the wildling Yigritte, fell in love on the set and are now married. There's a great story of how her family was losing their ancestral family home in Scotland and he helped them save it.
The actor playing Theon, Alphie Allen, is the brother of singer/songwriter Lilly Allen...writer of this *VERY* cool tune...

✌️
Welcome to Game of Thrones. This was your baptism. You did very well. Some reactors babble and then stop the video. You had me tearing up when you were tearing up. As reactions go, yours was a thing of beauty. Bye sweet summer child...
This is the episode that created YT reaction channels, nobody was prepared for this.
every time i watch a reaction to this, i cry right alongside them. every time. why do i do this to myself
Honestly I’ve seen this so many times now I just find it funny
00:00 Good old cursed 09
21:59 Beleive me, you don't. Here's the countdown, 5....4....3...
23:42 There we go.
27:31 You're not a sweet summer child anymore, congrats.
28:46 Fun fact, you're doing this job because of this episode. It popularised reaction show like yours. Savour it.
30:45 There's 1 worg for 1000 men, 1 skinchanger in 1000 worgs sand 1 greenseer, skinchanger and worg all tougher per 1000 of skinchangers, the three eyed crow/rave.
The Red Wedding, a cinematic masterpiece.
Goodbye sweet summer child.
Quote from Catelyn from Episode 3 this season: "I wonder, how many times Bran or Rickon stare across the moors of Winterfell waiting for me to return? I will never see them again." 😢
Stef should give herself some cred for pulling herself together after watching this episode and analyzing it successfully. "So now what" That is the question.. it's hard to guess when someone just pulled the rug.
You handled it well! Great reaction as always! And there sooooooo many twists yet to come!
The Infamous Red Wedding. This was one of the biggest shockers of the series… yes, there is more to come 😋 . Horrific to see Arya witnessing this right in front of her eyes. Yet everything that has happened to the Starks were turning points into much bigger bolder and more powerful character developments that still awaits us. Now there are only a few left. The journey shows through the manifestation of so much that has happened to the Starks each of these characters break and are remoulded into something much more than themselves, which is what I really like in the story telling. My advice is, despite the pain that they want you to feel, despite whatever you have seen like many here, keep going.
Rob Stark and Starkey are wines themselves!!! Rob broke the king's word, the king's word!!! Kings can do anything, kings can do anything! And sometimes they decide the fate of the whole earth. But, no matter what you say, not a single king can marry for love! And, the red wedding is retribution for the traitors of the house of Frey. everything deserves it!!! Power is the right to do what you want!!!
That look from Frey. "Coulda been yours dumbass."
The Wildlings think everyone south of the wall is their enemy. The man they wanted to kill is a man of the north one of Jon's people you could say. He is conflicted because he is in love with Ygritte and he sympathizes with the Wildlings. He also understand the looming threat of the white walkers and wanting to lead the Wildlings to safety. Jon took an oath with the Nights What, He was raised by Ned, The honorable Ned Stark he isn't about to turn his back on his brothers of the watch.
This episode, even more than the finale of season 1, tells you that no-one is safe. Any character might get killed. It raises the stakes so much, and shows need that I think, rather than handing out plot-armor to all your faves.
In the books, Arya is also capable of Warging, but she has no-one to teach her about it. It's a talent that runs in the Stark family line, because they are descended from the First Men, who were the first to colonise Westeros, which is the same race as the Wildlings are. But she regularly has vivid dreams about her Dire Wolf, even though they are hundreds of miles apart, where she sees what it's up to through it's eyes., but she doesn't realise that they aren't just dreams.
the endorphines my body feels whenever a new S3E09 reaction drops cannot be explained
"I dont even care! The rest of this episode!" 😂 Reminds me of myself WAY back in the middle of the first season of this on HBO. I decided after like 3 episodes to read the books. So, fast forward about 2 weeks, I'm at THIS part of book 3 and if you were driving past my house you'd have seen A Storm of Swords flying out a 2nd story window. I was literally saying to my family, "Done reading the books, if anyone cares! Fuk it!" 😅
Actually genuine reacting streamer, love it.🔥
Welcome officially to the GOT fanbase Stef lol. You have now experienced what all of us did many years ago, the shock and absolute depression that comes with the aftermath of the red wedding lol Dont worry, it will be okay and theres plenty more highs and lows on the GOT journey.
28:25 hit that anger stage in the 5 steps of grief 😂 screw you guys!
When this episode first aired it became clear to many people why their nerd friends were sad for weeks a couple years earlier when the book came out.
I remember the first time I watched this episode, like you Stef I could sense that something was going to happen at the Red Wedding, but what actually happened was truly shocking.
Yep. The betrayal itself isn't the usual part. It's that it works and EVERYONE dies. In any other show when Catelyn screams at him Rob would have flipped the table in time to avoid the arrows. Maybe he gets hit once but he keeps fighting. His wife is stabbed but not mortally. They are all fighting. Cat probably dies but Greywind busts out of that kennel, kills a dozen men and busts through the doors so Rob and his men can flee. They regroup with what's left of their army down river. Maybe Tulisa loses the child. Maybe she dies of an infection. Robb is distraught. He vows revenge and the show goes on.
Not in GoT...
Jon left her because he’s still part of the nights watch and he has to warn them of the planned attack from Mance Rayder. He knew she would not be harmed by them when he left her.
S1/E2
The Kings Road as King Robert and Ned are talking while having lunch. Ned finds out that Dany has married Khal Drogo -
Ned: Daenerys Targaryen has married some Dothraki horse lord, what of it? Should we send her a wedding gift?
Robert: A knife perhaps, a good sharp one, and a bold man to wield it.
Fast forward to S3/E9
Roose Bolton reveals his chain mail exactly at the same time as Walder Frey says that he owes King Robb's wife Talisa, a wedding gift and one of Walder Frey's men uses a sharp knife to kill Talisa.
Great foreshadowing.
The Red Wedding! So many people threatened to quit watching GOT after this episode. But they didn't...
Stef handled that very well. Most reactors just end the video as soon as the episode is over incapable of even talking.
"Yes now the rains weep o'er his halls with not a soul to hear"
I was waiting for your reaction to this episode the moment I saw you've started Game of Thrones.
Nobody is ever the same after the Red Wedding.
14:19 John has to go to the wall to warn the Nights Watch. He can't bring her back to the wall, the dudes in charge of the wall are violentally anti-wildling and may even dismiss his warning if he were to bring her along. And/or kill him because he broke his vows.
Duty before Love.
'I think a lot of people underestimate Arya'... Oh my sweet summer child you have no idea
Stef is now a Woman of Winter 😭 be thankful, as this episode is the reason ‘reaction channels’ exist
Ironically one of the individuals Arya hates the most, is the very person who saved her life. First he save's Sansa, then he saves Arya. It turns out that the Hound is the Guardian they didn't want, but they ended up needing...
Please watch Nimona, it was nominated for an Oscar.
In season one Sam says he always wanted to be a wizard and here Gilly calls him a wizard so it’s basically true love
She actually cried a lot less than I expected 😅
oh we just hit the beginning of the heartbreak. I feel bad enjoying the pain haha.
"The Rains of Castemere" is the song they played before the massacre, just in case you didn't know. There's a whole lore about the song and it's significance to the Lannisters.
Savage episode, that last scene was the first part of game of thrones i layed eyes on, got hooked on to it after that, this series was proper lit back then ❤
Rob Stark and Starkey are wines themselves!!!
@@denissracins3049 wth are you talking about 😆
Imagine reading this book, seeing some of the foreshadowing, but even still being traumatized by the way the Red Wedding was written... then waiting a few years and seeing your own reaction reflected on the faces of your friends (who never read the books) as they watch it live on HBO.
NOW think back to all the people you told, "I'm going to start Game of Thrones!" and the little smiles they gave you and all the "Sweet Summer Child"'s they gave you and either smack'em or call them a Son of a Bitch or something similar. They knew 3-9 was coming and just snickered and even more than after Ned's Head, you are now a true Watcher of GoT.
Did anyone not know what was coming when The Rains of Castemere started?
I was so captivated/shocked by the scene I didn’t notice how graphic the sound effects are. You really hear it on here.
One of the best episodes. ❤
Always such fun to watch someone who doesn't know, suddenly come to know 😁
Jon had to leave Ygritte. She’s a Wildling and those are her people. He pushed her out of the way when they started fighting cuz he knew she’d try and protect him and fight her people for him and he didn’t want them to turn on her. He loves Ygritte, but he’s escaping and he can’t take her back to the Wall with him. Jon’s a man of The Nights Watch, for life!
Lord Karstark was right. Robb lost the war when he married that girl. He was promised to marry the Frey girl. He broke his word and that doomed him and doomed the North. He was a not just a boy anymore, he was a leader, a commander, a king. How could he expect the people to follow him if he broke his word in such a spectacular way, especially that everyone compares him to his dad. I mean I'm not going to spoil anything but the shit Ned went through to keep his word is insane.
Phenomenal writing and acting across the board, Seasons 3 and 4 is peak GoT and some of the best TV ever written. Really good stuff.
to the editor: thank you for the giggle, well played :)
Leave it to Martin to make weddings be the exact opposite of what they are supposed to be in more than one way. Why he wrote the Red Wedding:
I’ve said in many interviews that I like my fiction to be unpredictable. I like there to be considerable suspense. I killed Ned in the first book and it shocked a lot of people. I killed Ned because everybody thinks he’s the hero and that, sure, he’s going to get into trouble, but then he’ll somehow get out of it. The next predictable thing is to think his eldest son is going to rise up and avenge his father. And everybody is going to expect that. So immediately [killing Robb] became the next thing I had to do.
The Red Wedding is based on a couple real events from Scottish history. One was a case called The Black Dinner. The king of Scotland was fighting the Black Douglas clan. He reached out to make peace. He offered the young Earl of Douglas safe passage. He came to Edinburgh Castle and had a great feast. Then at the end of the feast, [the king’s men] started pounding on a single drum. They brought out a covered plate and put it in front of the Earl and revealed it was the head of a black boar - the symbol of death. And as soon as he saw it, he knew what it meant. They dragged them out and put them to death in the courtyard.
The larger instance was the Glencoe Massacre. Clan MacDonald stayed with the Campbell clan overnight and the laws of hospitality supposedly applied. But the Campbells arose and started butchering every MacDonald they could get their hands on. No matter how much I make up, there’s stuff in history that’s just as bad, or worse.”
Oh, and he blames Lord of the Rings author J R R Tolkien for being the cause of his willingness to kill off beloved characters. Known fully as Gandalf the Grey, the wizard sacrifices himself at the end of the first novel, “The Fellowship of the Ring.” Martin explained that seeing such an important character get taken off the chessboard influenced his own murderous writing.
“The minute you kill Gandalf, the suspense of everything that follows is a thousand times greater. Because now anybody could die. Of course that’s had a profound effect on my own willingness to kill characters at the drop of a hat.”
welcome, theres nothing here but pain
❤️🩹 take comfort in knowing we share in your pain and your not alone. Winter is still to come
Well, one thing is for sure.
You will never forget this episode.
23:08 "The time has come. Execute Order 66." ☠️
Oh Stef.. you gentle soul.. This uh.. this is really brutal.. even after years I still get shocked from it. Worst of all it's how people genuinely worked back in medieval times..
Ok, this is THE EPISODE...
Everyone was waiting this.
Bueno... pues tampoco se lo ha tomado tan mal...
🤣🤣🤣🤣
Ah, I see that editors think that Stef is not summer child anymore. Well, summer is still there in GoT and there are PLENTY of things she needs to face to become a woman of winter. Some people think that Red Wedding was crucial in the whole line of events. It wasn't. Lannisters were going to win that war, Rob was going to lose. Red Wedding is shocking event, but for the Game it's just another battle.
"I'm doing good." *ques rains of castemere 😂
Ahh, these little moments. Please remember we had to wait another year when a season ended, don't forget this or so help me Kat Stark will rise up from her grave....ahhh
Here we go bayyyy-beeee!!!
The Red Wedding.
Amazing reaction once again....But I must admit that what I found shocking and truly amazing about this reaction was your mascara freundin, it actually made it through this entire episode without a single smudge or run 😧.
By all The Old Gods and all The New Ones toooo....I shall not sleep till I find the name of this magical mascara...Yes, thats what I'll do.🧏♀️
I've never been so emotional over a show. I've seen some messed up shit in my life, but this *still* got me man. I feel you on the feeling like somehing was off though, and when the Rains of Castamere started playing and they closed the door I felt my heart sink man, I knew it was over for Robb.
Nah I’ve been dreading this day since you actually started up game of thrones. I’m so sorry sweet summer child 😭🫂
You're still a summer child. When winter comes MAYBE you'll pass the final exam & become a Full Grown Woman of Winter
So, S3E9, long awaited reaction. Get some popcorn, press like button and start watching.
A Lannister always pays his debts 😭
Exactly like I expected
I’ve been looking forward to this
this episode will always be known as ' The Red Wedding '
If John hadn't run away, the Wildings would have killed him.
Remember, "In the Game of Thrones you win or you die." No one is safe.
Annnnnd that's the Red wedding for you! :P We all been there, don't worry.
Good lord! Is always hard to watch this, never the less for the first time. So heart-wretching 💔😢
