I guess I have always been a "prepper". God spoke to my heart while in college that it was time to travel extensively, and I am sooo grateful! I got all the Visas, student museum discounts, train passes, made a rough itinerary, then a pal and I backpacked, train traveled, deck-passage on ships, AYH, all over - when I had the Stamina! Now, having slowed down (a happy homebody) we stock-up so when not feeling well enough to get to the stores, all we need is here! We used to call it "stocking up" but now it is called "prepping"!😄God bless you both! The Joy of the LORD is my strength" Nehemiah 8:10😊🐕‍🦺💕🙏✝️📖🇺🇸

I travel a lot… and I prep. Just got back from Germany. My kids live on the opposite coast from us. I always take a certain amount of cash in a money belt- and do not spend it. Headlamp, small solar charger, several fully charged batteries, water bottles, a complete change of clothes- merino is a plus. One Mountain House meal. I have the smaller things like Mary. I carry a small backpack and it all fits in.
My no 1 tip- use small tour groups. You become friends with the guide- making it more important to protect you. It is also easier to maneuver with a small group. And no 2- ALWAYS walk with a purpose! Always act confident.

We were blessed to be able to go on a cruise as a gift from my son and his wife. We have a glamping rv so we can travel.

The best of friends are always found in the glove compartment.

Interesting! If you drive to Arizona you need to stop at Bluff fort sometime. Also, stop in Snowflake and see our garden! We will be doing some experiments growing quinoa this year.

Wonderful video. There is planning, and then there was yesterday. We had Tsunami Warnings that triggered all cellphones 📱 going crazy with an alert from NOAA/USGS or whoever sends those things. I was just away from home not in my own car while we were trying to figure out what was going on. Turns out there was a big earthquake up the coast where our slip-fault meets a subduction fault (the kind that triggers tidal waves when there is an underwater landslide). Anyway, a lesson in how to handle things when you just have your phone & a few things in your pocket.

Questions for Mary Ellen: Is it advisable to have images of your passport on your phone? (I notice it is difficult to capture a clear image of the newer passports.) Do you use a language interpreter app? If so, is there one you prefer? Do you learn a bit of the language of the country where you will be traveling before you go? Since a glove box friend isn't an option in many destinations, what do you use instead? I carry a firm, small stuffed toy in my hand to protect my fingers and thumb should I need to manually defend myself. I used it only once: me against four teenage guys, one of whom sexually assaulted me. My reaction was so swift they were stunned, then ran (thank goodness). What do you do to let people know your medical conditions should you be incapacitated while traveling alone?

I have a question i can’t find the answer from anyone anywhere…i read, in regards to battery operated devices stored in cars, like flares or flashlights , not to leave the batteries IN them in extreme temps which we get in both directions So #1 are we supposed to drag the batteries in & out of the house every time we leave?? And #2 my flares require a screwdriver to access battery compartment? So I’m sitting there in the dark hoping no one hits me while I fiddle with screws & batteries???? I’m VERY perplexed & frustrated!!

QUESTION: I see a world war on the horizon. I am ineligible for the draft due to being a woman and having chronic pain. I think we may see shortages if that happens, and I’m not sure what we’ll be short on. I know how to garden and dry herbs but I’m not prepared for that level of shortages. I also see a civil war happening if a world war happens. How should I prepare for all those things? (Sorry for the lengthy comment) God bless!
Are you Christians? No need to answer if it’s too personal.

Yes, we are definitely Christians and center our lives around Jesus Christ and His gospel. We have a lot of challenges in our future. It has been prophesied. Christ is coming again soon and all that was prophesied to happen before He returns will happen. We do what we can. Listen to the Spirit for specific instructions because it will differ depending on your individual circumstances. Personally, we store food, grow a garden, prepare to live without power, live frugally, love and serve our neighbors, and trust that God is in charge. There is peace in Christ!

Traveling all the time. Love it. More scared of the US next year than a trip to Asia or anywhere iin Europe. No need to soil your pants. Life is risky. You only live once. Enjoy it - but do not be naive. Biggest fear to be shot in the US. Police is the worst over there. So I keep away from them if possible. But otherwise... have the number of my Embassy in the phone (or consulate). Registered in my country when I leave in case of an emergency that they know I am in the country/area. I have a great travel insurance that covers all medical bills worldwide and even transfer home. Losing the passport - the embassy will help. Have a copy in the cloud.
Do NOT belive all you see in the news. People are not governments. Espesially US news are very negative about everything. Compare to BBC. Big differnce. Be open minded!
I only take a littel cash, there are credit cards and debit cards and SamsungPay. Valuables I lock in the hotel safe.
Donˋt wait until you are old to travel. It opens you mind to new ideas.

Please worship the CREATOR OF THE UNIVERSE, THE LORD GOD and try not to worry too much about the differences between the different religions and denominations, try to think about the similarities and the things they may have in common more than the differences. Daily prayer is a fundamental part that many people do not practice although it is encouraged. 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
"CREATOR OF THE UNIVERSE, LORD GOD, I beg you to never force me to worship any false god or object and I ask you for forgiveness for my sins and immorality. Thank you for everything. Amen."
Please pray this now, pray the words as you read them if you cannot look and remember them 🙏 and please know that daily prayer will give you the help that GOD wants you to have.
    Thessalonians 5:16-18
"Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of GOD in Christ Jesus for you."
Daily prayer is the key to success in politics and much of life, if only more would practice it 🙏
