I am just looking into Brother NQ 1700 and Babylock Flare and trying to decide which one to get ☺️ I was looking as well into Janome 550 E , but am not at all familiar with Janome machines - only Brother ( he 240, sq 9050 and my newest baby bq2450 ☺️ ) . The only advantage Janome over Brother or Babylock is the hoop size, everything else I prefer in Brother or Babylock ....
So on this level, brother and babylock are the same. Buy from who you like. We did a video on the flare so definitely check that out. Its the same thing but you get more of our thoughts. Janome is great, but their embroidery interface is leaves much to be desired. We like their sewing machines but generally don't recommend Janome embroidery just because its more difficult to learn. Bigger hoop is nice, but you will have to learn their weird icon system which isn't a big deal if you get good local training and use the machine all the time. But if you don't then I'd say go brother or babylock. We find them more user friendly. Go stitch something out on all of them and find the best fit for you. Hope this helps!

@@KatchiVatchi Yes, thank you :) I was recommended today by a dealer in my area that has Babylock and Janome to go rather with Babylock as well. I sew your video about the Flare too. I think I will stick with it as it comes with nice bundle :) and Brother not. I was looking as well at the Pathfinder, but I think for now I rather stick with Flare - Pathfinder is twice the price and not sure I need so much of an embroidery machine yet....

Hi, loved your video on this machine. I’m just getting interested in embroidery machines and looking for my first one. Just need some clarification about moving files to the machine. I am an iPhone user. Is it possible to download embroidery and update files to the machine using the iPhone? I hadn’t read anything about that anywhere else. Just saw that you had to have a windows machine to transfer via wifi. I’m a completely Mac household so no Windows machine available.
Hey thanks. We aren't sure, highly unlikely. We know that you can send files via apple tablets on some Janome models. It's hard to get outside the apple ecosystem. Try checking out a Janome store and see what you can come up with. Best of luck!
