I had a bronchoscopy last week. There is NO need to worry for those who are scheduled for the procedure. I was petrified before my exam! But with a skilled doctor, there is no need to worry. The meds that are provided before the procedure will remove ALL anxiety. I am glad that I will finally have a definitive diagnosis next week after wrestling with this problem since the beginning of the year. If you need a bronchoscopy, please do yourself a favor by having it done by a skilled pulmonologist. You won't be disappointed.
Thank you. 🙏
Thank you, I feel much better now. Really appreciate this after reading all the creepy comments
Thank you! I feel better now, i get one in two weeks
@@haroldgilmore3122 Goodluck I also had mine after posting my comment on this channel and it’s a literal piece of cake
@@-Chicken_ thank you i even feeling better , i hate when folks leave creepy messages to worry others who about to go threw the procedure. But thank God for people like you who who keep it honest
Just had a bronchoscopy today. Was a piece of cake. I remember the sedation being given, then I was suddenly in the recovery room. I feel fine now, completely normal in fact. No sore throat even.
Omg sigh of relief I’m getting it done so worried for procedure and what they will find were u fully out
I'm so worried I have to have this done for lung biopsy. I have a rare lung disease.
I also had one done 2 days ago, they said they flushed my lungs and I feel the best I've felt in years...remeber the anaesthetist saying you will feel a bit sleepy and next thing I woke up in recovery. 45 mins later I was eating chicken salad sandwich and a cup of tea. Have faith, they told me this, that could happen, I said I have utmost faith nothing will go wrong.🙏🙏🙏❤
Any discomfort bro?
Huge sigh of relief for me
It's 3/23/24. Thank you for this video, I'm going to have my Bronchoscopy procedure on 4/2/24 due to cavity and nodules seen on my CT scan. It was a blessing in disguised, me and my husband were rushed to the hospital due to car accident. They took a chest xray and saw something and ordered a CT scan. I'm a non smoker, no single symptoms of TB or Pneumonia. Doctors are ruling out if it's a Lung cancer , that why I would need this procedure done. Please pray for me and for every patient that's dealing with this condition, hoping that its not a Lung cancer🙏
Hope you had done with the procedure and wishing there is no cancer.
Wish you all the blessings from India ❤
Hope everything worked out and it was nothing!
You will be alright no worries
I had a double lung transplant and this procedure is done regularly to check for organ rejection. I am given meds to put me in a twilight sleep, similar to the meds for colonoscopy. They do the procedure through the throat and remove pieces of lung tissue to test. I have never had problems or pain
I have to have a double lung transplant i don't know if I will get it , hope your continuing yo do well ,
All you folks saying it was a piece of cake and a blessing good for you. Not everyone is as lucky I guess. My doctor caused my lung to collapse and the pain has been unreal.
So sorry that happened to you! What city?
I had one of these a month ago as after 2 CT Scans and one Pet Scan 4 specialists couldn't tell what the shadow on my Lung was. I was referred to Papworth full of trepidation and fear, only to be greeted by a sensational team who completely understood my feelings and instantly set about easing my fears. After completely going through my previous scans with me ( something no-one had done before ) I was told exactly what was going to happen, prepped with a very small injection, I was wheeled into theater where the nurse administered 2 injections into the throat ( slightly uncomfortable ) the nurse constantly talking and assuring me, then came the throat spray ( tastes Bitter...But is very effective ) as for the insertion and rest of the procedure ( investigation and biopsy ) I felt absolutely nothing, until the final stage, when a biopsy was taken from the lymph nodes in the throat..Before these were taken the surgeon warned me I would feel like gagging, he said feel free to do so ( which I did ) after this the instruments were removed and the procedure was complete. Back in recovery, I was given a sick hat into which i cough up a very small amount of blood. Watched all the time by nurses, I was offered at first a bottle of water, then a sandwich, then a cup of tea...Little did I know they were actually checking my swallow reflex...After I had devoured all the food and drink, the nurse said right ill get your discharge paperwork together. I was admitted into the hospital at 07.30 and left at 11.30. Thanks to this procedure, it has now been determined, that I has a 3cm cancerous growth on my left Lung, which is operable. The original chest X-ray I had showed nothing, 2 ct scans just confused the situation, and the pet scan gave a little more detail. Thanks to this very simple and safe investigation technic, It has hopefully saved my life.
Hope you are doing well. What were your symptoms before diagnosis last, because am repeatedly my mucus has blood but two X-ray after 5 months gap also showed nothing. Doctors say it’s infection that’s all.
How are you dear?
my mother will go through the procedure on Wednesday. Your comment released my fear. Thanks
I just had this done yesterday and they completely knocked me out for it
Got one tomorrow after 4+ months of pneumonia that just won't go away. Thanks for posting this video.
E B Was anything found?
Yeahhh I get mine Friday....what did they find?
Guys I just want to say that I had my bronchoscopy a few weeks ago and it was a literal piece of cake. Besides all the negative comments there’s no need to worry. Since healthcare has developed so much I was put under anaesthetic the whole time. And when I woke up I couldn’t feel a thing. The only bit that hurt a little was the drip although they did put numbing cream. Sometimes they may put a small tube through your nose into your stomach but that’s also under anaesthetic. When you wake up they just pull it out (you can’t feel a thing.) There’s nothing to worry about.

I had bronchoscopy while fully awake, (they don't sedate in my country) and it is literall hell. I think it's criminal to do it without general anesthesia or some kind of sedation.
Phew thank you for this comment. I’m about to get mine done and all these negative comments started to freak me out.
@@wallyfm123 Nah mate don’t worry, tbh the thing I was most worried about was the food they were gonna serve 😂
I just had one 3 days ago. Cake walk. Piece of pie. Take the sedation and presto! No memories of it. Don’t believe negative comments, it’s in the pocket.
had the second one yesterday i couldnt eat the night before after 12:00. I was totally out i felt nothing . I had pain in my throat for a few days. I am glad its over
babji ghar par ha
I will do tomorrow evening
Want to clam down
Afraid of the pain
yea they should put a patient out first. what the hell were they doing? this guy was awake?! lol
Thank you for this video. I am scheduled for a broncoscopy in a few days and this was very helpful in knowing what to expect.
God why to bear all these pain😭😭 i have had done this and i nearly died coz my breath was stoped for 6 sec becoz of pressure they used into my lung pipe.. by mistakely i nearly died i lost my hope that. I would come back... But thanks to god and the doc who was there to monitor my oxygen level...
And one thing i say is diet is very important for this desease
Just had my appointment today at NHS... As soon as they gave me the anesthetic I fell sleep, woke up in the recovery room... A little sore throat but not even 5% like what I expected
thank you for thix video- Ive been recently diagnosed with an autoimmune lung disorder they dont know what is ( edging towards sarcoidosis with my eyes being inflammed) and never been sick in my life this procedure had me terrified- you helped my anxiety a LOT! so that you for this video
How was procedure
I had a broncoscopy couple of years ago, I wasn't out of it had no sedation and although no pain the sheer panic I felt when that tube went down was horrifying, never again
I’m going today.i fear that tube going down, and that it won’t be sterile. Omg, I’m really freaked out
I didn't feel anything because i was sleeping
I was put to sleep for mine.
Same, it was horrible, numbness was only there for my throat and I could feel the pain as it was entering my nose (no pain afterwards).
I was not sedated.. I coughed and coughed after the procedure. Definitely something I'll never forget.
I Just Had An Bronchoscopy For The 4th Time Today, 40-50 Minutes Ago, And I Always Get Put To Sleep With Anesthesia, It's Usually After That I Feel Weird - Which Is Normal But Yeah Still Sucks
Prefessional and comprehensible. Thanks from Sweden
this is very painful and may have many complications, causing lung bleeding.I did not get anesthetic,
but I'm happy survive.
a lot of strength for my comrades
I had one in 2003. They spray a deadening agent into your nostril and give you demoral. There is little discomfort when they stick the wooden qtips down your nostrils to apply deadening gel. There is no pain witht he actual procedure.
I had a garden hose crammed down my lungs. I loved it so much o asked the doctor to do it again.
I have plastic Bronchitis a rare lung disease. Have had this done. I did have pain from lung biopsies.
I had it done many years ago and it wasn't bad test.
I also done Last week on 27 April no need to worry
Very detailed explanation, now I know more about bronchoscopy.
I almost had it last week at King's Lynn hospital but I escaped from the room, it was a torture, nothing like on this video.
Why didnt you have them put you to sleep?
@@bethlovett7612 I thought I'll be ok!
@THE MISCELLANEOUS HACKER _ it wasn't that bad when they finally set up my medication for the sarcoidosis. Trust me, having heavy state of Sarko and this tube going inside your throat, nightmare.
I have just been diagnosed with sarcoidosis of the lungs and I have to have one of these procedures now you've made me scared lol
@@JoeBriers93 I have chronic sarcoidosis of the lungs and have had my 4th bronchoscopy today. Most clinicians will treat you with great care and there's nothing to worry about. If you're worried, speak to the team doing it as soon as possible, as they can adjust the level of sedation to fit your level of worry. I hope you get the treatment required very soon
They did this on me and punctured my lung. I was in intensive care after for 5 days.
So sorry for you. My autistic son will have this done in nine days. I hope he doesn't experience a punctured lung.
@@doloresmarusarz1685
Prayers for your son.
@@lisamason7004 Thank you very much.
Glad you’re doing well
Oh goodness 🥺 I'm watching this and reading the comments as I'm due to have one next week. I'm terrified. I put it off until middle of January. Mines just a Endoscopy
I’m having mine tomorrow how did yours go?
Excellent Explanation and very Professional procedure......
My husband is getting this done tomorrow morning to find out why he has been bleeding and spitting up from his lungs.hoping everything will be okay.
I have the same problem. Doctor prescribe praziquantel tablet which I took for 3 days 3 days ago.. I am still spitting and coughing up blood. TB test always came negative. I did that for about 5-6 times... I may have to go through the same test. May your husband get well soon. Please let me also know the diagnose....
@@caresonveisii9311 how are you now?!
I have the same thing, bleeding and spitting up from my lungs, what did it turn out to be if I may ask ?
Mine turn out to be heart issue. Seems the right side of my heart is enlarge. On medication. Hope we all get well soon. Stay safe.

I had a bronchoscopy two days ago. I'm in so much pain like my whole entire body hurts so bad. I feel like I was hit by a truck full speed! Is that normal? I can't even cough, sneeze, nor blow my nose cause my chest and abdomen hurt so bad. I can't sleep cause I can't barely move. 😩 someone tell me if this is normal?
It's Not Normal, Talk To Your Doctor Please, I Had 4th Bronchoscopy Just An Hour Ago, And I Feel Fine Except For Walking Or Talking For A Few Mins, And You Can Also Trow Up Sometimes, Please Check It Out With Your Doctor
What happen if they use sterile water instead of normal saline for lavage to suction?
My daughter had just yesterday she’s good nothing to about worry
Its safe procedure
Can we walk and drive yourself
would love if this video had proper closed captioning, if not for accessibility, then at least for knowing how to spell certain technical terms used
I was told I should have this done but I’m such a chicken when it comes to my lungs! I’ve been diagnosed with emphysema but I’m putting the excess mucus down to my sinusitis. I fear I won’t be able to get away from this procedure for too long 😬😬😬😬
In my opinion, you should do it ASAP. It really isn’t something to worry that much about, and yet it’s a huge help to your recovery!
@@jovanstarcevic9603 how will it help me recover?
@@Serel25 I just had one this morning and it can help because it’s a really useful technique. You do have your diagnosis set up already, unlike me, and I’m not a medical worker so I’m not an expert, but it’s really something you shouldn’t run away from if they recommended you to do it.
I have advanced emphysema and have never had one of these done for that reason but I have had them done a few times for other reasons and uou feel and know nothing about it ,
Ct scans and breathing test also 6 minute walk test tells doctors everything about your emphysema, the 6 min walk test to them I needed oxegen
Look so scary procedure, my husband in hospital with Pneumonia and his going to do this procedure today,
I pray all goes well in Jesus name amen
I wish u had bronchoscopy because I've been having breathing difficulties and chest pains but yeah my gp in Glasgow doesn't even do anything
I had that done to me yesterday.Trough nose.
Is ir painful?? A 60 year old can bear this procedure??
I have an appointment for this monday... I'm so scared.. 😢😢
I had a blocked bronc. They put a firecracker down there and blowed the shit out. Now I can tell I feal better.

My sister had a bronchoscopy today and the surgeon nicked her lung 🫁.
Whatever happened afterwards? Was she ok? Did it puncture her lung and how did they treat it and how well did she recover.
I’m here bc I have to have it done on Jan 3, 2022 and I’ll terrified 😥
