→ Hey yall! I always get complimented on my dutch braids and I always get asked if I did them myself and YES I DID! I know it looks hard and it seems a bit confusing at first but trust me it isn't THAT difficult! I learned by watching 100 different UA-cam tutorials and practicing everyday! I wanted to make my own tutorial because I felt like the videos I watched didn't help me with the grips (which is the hardest) as well as make it easy! I tried to do both! I hope this helps you!

I know how to braid! I can French, Dutch, waterfall. I can’t fishtail though 😂 I learned by being curious 😅 and just doing random twists and turns 😂

so this worked but.... my arms were hurting and i couldn’t see on the back of my head, any tips about braiding at the back?
Oh yeah! My arms KILL afterwards hahaha.
My tip would be find a smaller mirror and a larger mirror and put them across from each other then sit in between that way you can look into the smaller mirror and see the back of your head in the larger mirror behind you to help practice braiding in the back! Soon you won’t need to look at all!

I can't braid my own hair. My mom does it. But the funny part is when I help my elder sis to do it I use her hands too. That means to make braids i need 4 hands
I have just found you now but for the last week I've been trying to do a Dutch braid. It kept going flat no matter what I done! I've just tried your way and it looks like an actual Dutch braid!! Thank you 💛

I tried, but my hair is unruly and has dead ends, I was also frustrated when I tried so it didn’t take very long for me to give up 😂😂 I’ll probably try again sometime in the future tho, cause this is a very helpful and well explained tutorial! Thank you for making it!

I have super short hair, it’s shaved on the back and sides and is around 7 ish inches on top and I normally french braid it but this really helped me because you braid it straight back and a lot of tutorials do it down towards the ears and that not an option for me so thAnk you sm

I learned how to Dutch braid at a hair salon camp and whenever I do it my arms get sooo tired
my arms get tired too hahaha.
If you do it while sitting leaning against the wall with your knees pulled up you can rest your elbows on your knees when you need a break, without letting go of your hair

I like to braid when my hair is wet so it'll lay flatter. but also before you start braiding brush your hair back in the direction of the braid and spray it down with hairspray! That might help! :)

I know im super late but oh well, anyways I have absolutely no co-ordination with my hands, I thought I was doing it but the realised I was swapping about the same bit of hair forwards instead of backwards, my head is also superrr sensitive and it hurts so bad to do stuff with it, but I cant keep straightening it everyday because its getting heat damaged, my mum is also terrible with hair and I dont want to rely on her to do it for me but I cant no matter how many hours I sit and try cant do it please helppppp
You got thiiiiissssss. You just have to practice it! I didn’t get good on the first try. The first couple times it’s going to look messy and gross but you will get better!!! Keep trying! Slow down the video if you need to and take it extra slow and try!! 💓💓

my braid just doesn't start at the front but like an inch past my hairline and therefore it looks bad. what am i doing wrong
Grab a smaller section right at the top of your head to start with and then when you're adding to your braid grab TINY sections when you're at the top of your head and get bigger as you move down :)
I'm confused... I was always told that a Dutch braid adds hair to the two outer sides...is it only added to the middle?
you very well could be right!! the way that I have always done it, is adding to both sides like a normal french braid, but it's just reversed!

Is it easier to dutch/French braid on wet or dry hair? Sorry im new to this and im learning because i have a two year old daughter
Me personally, wet hair! But not FRESH out of the shower. Dried a little so it doesn’t slip out. But wet hair for sure!

i like the french and dutch braids. i love how ppl think these things are easy to do n like ewwww wat a girly thing to do, they are hard and quite a challenge each time. think bodybuilding is hard try to keep your arms and hands up and in position for as long as it takes to do a french braid.

once you get good at it and depending on how long your hair is, it usually takes me like 10-15 minutes to do on my short hair!

yes!! the shorter the hair, the harder it may be to grip for you, but you can definitely still do it!
