Can't quite put my finger on it, but this video has such a nice feeling about it. The music, the positive attitude, the scenery, it all worked really well! Nice one 🤙
I feel the same as though I'm going to explode inside, restless wanting to be out in nature, missing that feeling of the challenge, the cool air and the wind rain the magic of the sunlight dancing through the trees and on the water, I find the only true medicine is to go and do, its like a drug you can never get enough of, and I'm always planning my next adventure.
Couldn't have said it better myself. I've spent far too much money on camping gear in the past few weeks just to combat my cabin fever...only to make it worse, because now I want to go test it. Luckily I have my Colorado Rockies in my backyard but I have to wait for the snow to melt a bit before my roommate is willing to go camping. Snowdonia looks awesome! I didn't get a chance to go there when I was in Wales last, I spent all my time in Cardiff and Caerphilly. Is there a way to get to Snowdonia using public transport? We're heading there in September and a bit of backpacking sounds "lush" :)
Loved this video! It's definitely inspired me to get back out into nature. I only live a few miles from Snowdonia, and you're right, it's easy to make excuses.
Just found your channel, thank you for filming your adventures. My soon to be seven year old daughter loves watching you go about your hikes. At first she thought you were FaceTime ing and wanted to know if you could see her. That's a great testament to your personality and style of filming. Cheers
loved this .. would recommend wild camp on your own .It gives you some great moments . i do it for a week every year but i cheat i have german shepherd keep me company. Scottish highlands here i come again in May.
Just came across this, and was just what I needed to see - thank you so much for creating such a beautiful video. Has inspired me to head back out and wild camp!
This totally looks like me travelling solo on Isle of Skye, the only difference was that I was staying overnight in a hostel. The next destination was supposed to be either Lake District, Snowdonia or southern Sweden with my tent. But then the problems with my joints in legs started and I can't do that anymore 😥 Sill it was the best vacation in my life...
Eva, Don'tstop!!! My knee pre- op is next week (1st Knee) , then op within 4 wks , then 6 wks weeks recovery1!!!. After that i'm going up again - (did 5 miles last w'ks hike, 3 miles this.... (much Slower!!!!!!)( I' m only 73 ) Take the pain !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! it's worse going down!!!!!!!!!!!!
Fantastic Athena you certainly covered some ground amazing light on the summit well captured and well deserved hot chocolate for sure one of the best parts for sure....thanks for sharing.
I read on Instagram that this is your first ever video... I hope it will be the first of many to come, as I enjoyed following and listening to your talk about why you decided to get out there. Good on you, for making the video and the wild camp. All the best.
Oh that was brilliant Athena. The joy was written all over you. No better (temporary) cure for restlessness than to head off out without a care.. Trouble is the restlessness will never go and sometimes grow because of the good times we have out in the sticks. But hey, just keep combating it with wildcamping and start wracking up the miles ! Thumbs firmly up. Luke
Loved watching this from all the way in Singapore, beautiful scenery, great shots + music and love how genuine and real you are in your videos! Thanks Athena!
Loved this video. As I said I am a newbie to this channel. I am starting a new channel so to speak in my life. Sold my 50’ sail boat in the Bahamas and now lookin to do a land cruise! You are so real to me !
IPAALES 1974 That’s absolutely encouraging! You can go a step further and say “You are never truly lost! Only lost in your head or have lost your wits. You are somewhere (in the west of Wales, Flintshire...), you just have to find your exact location! “ So stay calm and try to “find yourself” in a logical and structured way!
I love mid wales & North Wales for the fly fishing but i totally get the peace and solitude of this and am slightly envious. Wales is amazing in that it allows wild camping. Great video too.
I absolutely loved watching this! The music is everything, but your filming style, commentary and text captions really complemented each other perfectly. Awesome job. New subscriber here 😊
@Cowardly Custard The werewolves can be a concern at times, but with there being sheep a plenty in Wales, they tend to leave you alone. It's the Goblins you need to watch out for.
not sure why this was recommended today but went to snowdonia a very long time ago in winter.. it was just as beautiful as i remember. feeling lost and sad after losing my dog just a bit ago.. she would have loved to go there. thank you.
Great video, amazing views. Solo camping is the best. I too have moments in my tent with not much to do so I usually pack a puzzle book. Take care and enjoy the wilderness, Jodie.
Really enjoyable video. Nice chilled out folk music. Haven’t been walking in ages. Looking forward to taking my littleun to the mountains when she’s old enough.
Great video really captures the beauty and tranquility of the mountains. Reminds me of when I did the Welsh 3000s challenge a few years back. Well done on another excellent video.
I love the freshness of this video thanks for posting. Well done for spurring yourself on in the wet wilds of Snowdonia. Great music btw will put Bon Iver on now.
Athena, you are so incredible, and Harvey is INCREDIBLE. You are the best people that exist on UA-cam. You have reignited my love of Social Media. You are the most amazing people, you give us all so much hope, good people like you will always get all my time. Love you so much! :)
I have lived in Cardiff for 2 years and unfortunately never visited Snowdonia...and now I remember why.. the weather. kudos for going out in such conditions
Love this lassie's videos something amateurish but charming about her delivery! There's a great wild camping spot in the Western Cairngorms at Derry Lodge, with a lovely flat area to pitch a tent. The Derry burn is a substantial river at this point with plenty of lovely Highland water to drink, it puts you right in the middle of the Cairngorms, east walk along Glen Luibeg and Glen Derry, MacDui and Derry Cairngorm very close by plus the Lairig Grue Corour bothy area is not far Cairn Toul, Braeriach and The Great Moss walkable there and back in the day (during summer). Brilliant.

Thank you so much for posting this video. Amazing footage and very well edited. Also, it gave me the courage to wild camp as well on a 4 day cycling trip through Wales I did this month!
What a lovely girl, what a fabulous video. Thanks for posting! (Ps . I recognised the rail crossing and much of Moel Hebog, lovely views of the coast , facing West from the summit )
I’ve been wanting to do this for a while, so searched UA-cam for wild camping wales & yours was the 1st result, it’s was so good to watch & made me laugh too, I can’t wait to give this a go, thanks for sharing your great little hiking/camping adventure
Good video, even though the weather was bad, you managed to get some good footage and show the beauty of the landscape. Very atmospheric in parts. And its Bed-gel-ert as you know by now. Thanks 😀
I love solo wild camping and living up in Scotland gives me the perfect excuse to do so and you're right about getting restless, perfect remedy. What I'm really in need of is a good GPS unit to really get off the beaten track and not get lost as I often do. As much as I enjoy it, it can be a pain in the arse when my internal navigation fails me even with a map!
Some of my best adventures have been when I'm not entirely sure where I am. It forces you to learn. At times I don't look at my map for hours, then re-enter. GPS us for emergency only.
Ah Wales!!! I haven't been there in years, I see the weather hasn't got any better. I have been getting hypothermia in the Cumbrian mountains rather than the Cambrian mountains of late. Must go back to Wales you have inspired me. Great little video
Enjoyed that - good work! Like the ending too, it's hard work doing all the filming and can distract from being in the moment, but also provides additional purpose.
Wow, what a great video! Love walking on my own, not got as far as wild camping yet (don’t have the kit to fit in one bag) but this looked like a great trip!
Very nice vid. Well done as weather was not the best I love Wales and blessed to live here. Hoping to do a wild camp a month this year and your vid has given me a boost Thank you :)
It's such a nice feeling when UA-cams algorithm finds you a video that you will never think of searching. Simply this vid makes me happy, Sub and followed :)

wow , just stumbled across your channel and this video. love the style and fee of this video, and the music is great too. safe to say i have subscribed and going to check out all your other content . thank you
Another nice, well made video. Cool to see a girl make these sort of videos. Very under-represented in the world of camping in general, let alone wild solo camping and filming the adventures to share. Well done 👍😊
Can't beat lone wild camping ,it's one of the best ways to find yourself, I was out that way last week on the bike and did a night by the lake in beddgelert/ nant gwynant then over to lake vyrnwy , I was lucky to have a couple of dry nights ..cold but dry .. you've got to have a camp fire though so I challenge you to get out and do it again proper and cook some food on a camp fire haha great video and a thumbs up.
Nicely done! You were camped a stone's throw from Owain Glyndwr's Cave on the cliff behind. I made a vlog about it a few months back. There's another cave near the top of the approach gully which provides a dry doss for anyone who doesn't fancy getting a tent out. If you had headed straight down from your camp spot you would have reached a stile and footpath from which you can get to Beddgelert..-Beth-gel-ert!
Throughly enjoyed your adventure and Bon iver was relaxing. I'm thinking of going Brecon Beacons and snowdon this October. Looks like a lot of rain so I kinda got mixed feelings on going lol
Lovely video! Shows the beauty of nature. I've only done one solo wild camp, in Glen Etive. I felt quite spooked out and pitched my tent right next to my car. I was serenaded all night by hooting owls and bellowing deer. I'd downloaded a podcast, about the Salem witch trials. Not a good choice! Slept well though, and hope to do some more this year, maybe a bit further away from my car!
Great video, good on you for getting out and doing it. It would be great if more people got outside exploring instead of sitting on their bums in front of a screen, as you said being stuck in a rut is no good. I hope you do some more wild camps and film them it was enjoyable looking at your countryside as it’s a bit wetter and cooler than mine. I find the way you have all these great walking trails all over England very interesting. Cheers from Australia
Lovely video. Was thinking about doing some wild camping in Wales. You’ve given me another option of where. Beautiful landscape. Keep up the good work. Richard.
Lived two wonderful years in North Wales. Stayed on a farm in Denbighshire and totally fell in love with the place and it's people. Quickly learnt that if you didn't brave the rain and wind and cloudless days, you were going to be stuck indoors forever. Soon had 5-6 favourite routes to walk but too much of a city boy to try wild camping. Pity.
I long so much to get out in nature but chronic illness is making me stay inside most of the time and I’m only able to take very short walks around my neighborhood. This video was a lovely substitute for the things I hope to be able to do again in the future ❤️😊
Loved the video Athena. You are just great. What a fabulous young lady and inspiration to others. The music was perfect. I hate getting wet. Don't mind the cold, but once you're soaked, it takes an age to dry your gear. 😩😊
Well done brave Girl, and in winter too, how cool is that. Looks like you were carrying light gear, what type of tent is that and can it really stand up to some of devil wind of my favourite part of the world. Spend 3 years in North Wales teaching mountaineering, Walked and camped all the winters and climbed all of the summers. Winter camping brings its charms of wild weather and long nights. A great adventure.
Very nice video. Nice choices of music and a lovely feeling throughout the video despite the rain. Be careful hiking alone too much though. it can get pretty addictive ;)
Love seeing more women sharing their passion and knowledge of the mountains ❤️
Can't quite put my finger on it, but this video has such a nice feeling about it. The music, the positive attitude, the scenery, it all worked really well! Nice one 🤙

Same, I’m 15 and can’t do anything by myself unless I’m with friends but none of my friends like this kind of stuff :(
Loved this video! It's definitely inspired me to get back out into nature. I only live a few miles from Snowdonia, and you're right, it's easy to make excuses.

What an absolute pleasure to watch! Thank you.
Lol @ the book choice. Like watching Alive whilst you're flying off on holiday.
Really enjoying your videos, quality stuff. And what a spot, that morning mist was awesome
