I loved this line up of DP. This is my 3rd favorite album from them and ‘Fools’ is my favorite from it. This music style is definitely a precursor to ‘Machine Head’. Great coverage Jeff. Thank you.
Fantastic dive to an equally fantastic album man! Didn't get better than those trilogy of lp's kicking off the decade for DP imho. Excellent work Jeff. Cheers! 🍻✌️🤘🎶🤘
Cool you got this back up! Such a killer band; my fav singer and keyboardist, my second fav drummer and guitarist, and a pretty good bassist to boot! I think this is Aaron's fav DP album. But you are right that it does get the short end, but it is book-ended by two masterpieces. I know Gillan says this is his fav DP album. I have the reissued LP which has "Demon's Eye" instead of "SKOW." 'The Mule' and 'Anyone's Daughter' have always dragged down this album for me. Nice one Jeff!
I've been in on Deep Purple since Shades of Deep Purple was released in the 60s . I seem to be one of the few fans who like the Mach 1 version of this great band . That said , Fireball is my favourite Deep Purple album , just edging out Machine Head . Shades would be 3rd or 4th in my ranking of their albums . I like the fact that they mix up the styles on the Fireball album , and I'm a big fan of the title song , Demon's Eye , No No No , and especially Fools . As usual , you've selected great footage to go along with the songs . I also like their album Who Do We Think We Are , which , for some reason , get's a lot of grief from many fans . Thanks for the video !!
Once Upon A Time in the Early Seventies. Yes I rank Fireball 3rd. 1972 1970 1971 The reason Fireball was released later in the UK... Needed one more song. Demon's Eye. ("No old singles on the album") PS Great video as usual
Hi Jeff!! so glad to see you doing a deep dive series on Deep Purple's "Firenall".... i have the Cd reissue that inclues the songs miising in the US & UK version, i have the best of both worlds, but yes i really need to get this one on vinyl at some point, hope it's the one with Demon's Eye!!! cheers and be well
Slow Train should’ve made the album Cut. Instead of Anyone’s Daughter. Demons Eye is cool too. Include those 2 tracks and this album is perfection. I’ve never really cared for AD and Stange Kind of Woman.
@@jeffwhitchervinyldestinati4486 They had 3 other songs in the can. I’m Alone, Slow Train and Demons Eye. The bonus tracks of Fireball, referring to my 25th anniversary edition of Fireball. All 3 songs are better than some of the songs that made the cut. Woe to be Slow Train is nowhere to be found on UA-cam for folks to check out.
I love classic Deep Purple. One of the best bands ever!
Agreed!
No 1 for me this album has all the best of Deep Purple
Another great Purple albums.Got to see them back in '73 with zz top backing them up(before beards lol)
Wow, that would have been a great tour. 🤟🏻🤟🏻

Thanks! “Fools” is the highlight of the album for me.

Thanks! I will cover In Rock at some point in the future.

Thanks John! Unfortunately one of my favorite songs Demons Eye got blocked. 😡
A great album, from my favourite band. Mk II were unbelievable. Made in Japan was their zenith.
My favorite DP lineup too.

Great video as usual
Thanks! Pretty much a transitional album but still an enjoyable one.
Awesome video, brother!
This is my favorite DP album!!!! I’m glad Ian Gillan agrees. Lol. I have the UK version with Demon’s Eye. Killer!!!!!
Demon’s Eye was the song that got blocked. I love that song. Great album!
Killer video. Bro for an awesome album. 🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘
Thank you bro!

Thanks Cristian! My CD has Demons Eye but my vinyl does not. Hard to say which I prefer, honestly. Cheers and be well!
Awesome DD! Love the old footage. What an opening track! What’s the film clips from?😂
Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, a Quentin Tarantino film set in 1969. 😀

Yeah Anyone’s daughter sounds more like a b-side than an album track. I think they were pretty short on material at this time.

Fireball is worth having for the cover outer artwork alone. The record inside is also obviously great.
You are correct on both counts!
