Oh goodness. Your sharing couldn't have come at a better time for me. I'm juggling care for my 92 year old father while I live and work 65 miles away. I love my father and will do everything I can to help him and I'm also finding it challenging to take care of myself (I'm not young!), be driving a lot and living in two places. Caregiving is very lonely, isolating work in many ways, and there's also the sadness at watching my father struggle more with things that used to be easy for him and the ever--present anticipatory grief of what's to come. It helped me a lot in these last months to stop and appreciate that I am still pretty happy most of the time, and that is a lot to be thankful for in itself. I appreciate your insight that discomfort can also be a reminder that we are alive. I am going to look for the Big Tiny and read it. Thank you for your wisdom and grace and your postings. You inspire me and I also find your videos a great comfort. Much warmth and gratitude to you from Oregon.
Hi Cindy, anticipatory grief is a good way to put it. I felt the same with my mom. We grieve because we love so much. Remember to take care of yourself through this. 🥺❤️❤️❤️
I read the book several years ago, and enjoyed it very much. Enough is a concept we struggle to grasp. Society teaches us to strive for 100 percent of everything 100 percent of the time. We need to learn to be happy with enough. Hope you feel better soon.
You make complete sense!!! Thank you for sharing!! I also want to start a journey like you to lead a more intentional life and downsize some. And finding 85% happiness is a great goal!!! Absolutely no one is 100% happy 100% of the time. If you expect that, it’s a recipe for unhappiness.
This was my Grandma's take on things and I love and appreciate her so much for passing it on to those in the family willing to receive it. I hope you're already feeling better and trust that things will "right themselves". Stay safe and TFS🧡
Good message to get out there! I think it's so easy for us to complain about the least little thing (those of us living in a well developed country), when more than half the world doesn't have the advantages we do. Being content with what you have is always the best attitude to have. All the best from Missouri.
Thank you for another thought provoking moment! I'll never enjoy being uncomfortable, but I truly enjoy that moment just after solving a problem or realizing that I've just passed through an issue and not only survived, but learned again that I ROCK when faced with a challenge, set by me or thrust upon me by external and uncontrollable influences. Problems suck, but I focus on that future feeling that I know is mine to experience. ❤ to you and Sophie! K

That's so true. Many of us talk about living in the moment but most of us go through life in a reactive mode. Which I totally understand! I just try to not always be that way. 😊
I love tea especially on a chilly day. It's doing something between rain and snow right now. Last week I pruned the black raspberry canes and made support for second year canes. Thank you so much for this message. Coming for me at just the right time. I send you blessings, healing, and a return of a little more Bliss as you continue your tiny house journey of 85/15. Your book reference also reminded me of my own message that came to me for this year 2023 in our Unity Community's White Stone Ceremony... "Open to Bliss". With your encouraging words and that of the author you quoted, I also now realize that ... to be Open to Bliss there is always the daily living, experiencing the good with the not so good, happy with the sad, to be able to recognize, embrace and be enveloped with Bliss when it pops up. I've watched and listened to you and your growing wisdom many times times on your Tiny Home Journey and cooking episodes, and have received joy and felt awe each and every time. Hi Adelina 👋 I'm sorry you're feeling under the weather!! Here in Texas it is rainy and chilly as well. I also have a head cold! 😭 This video was very interesting and made me think a lot! Yes life can get very stressful and we dont eat right! I'm going to make myself a cup of tea! I hope you feel better soon! Take care and I'll see you next week! Hugs for Sophie ♥️😺♥️
Enough - such a helpful concept. I sold my home to move from west coast to east coast to be near my daughter. Im 70. Am in a beautiful two bedroom apartment and considering moving to a one bedroom for lower rent. Im thinking it would be enough! Outside beauty and travel to beautiful places fills my heart more. Your posts are always wise and fun.
Hello and Happy Sunday Adelina and Sophie. I’ll check at the library for the book but in all honesty I get so much from your channel. I hope you recover quickly from your cold with all that you have going on . I’m sure once you get back to your regular eating you’ll be better in no time. Myself, I really think these little setbacks are just naturally ways to keep us on our toes. Have a nice relaxing day and enjoy the quiet and your tea. Grab that cosy quilt and cuddle up with your kitty.🐈🤗🫂
Hello there Adelina! I'm sorry to hear that you are "under the weather" so to speak. I am praying for you to get well soon! The book sounds interesting. I am thinking about contacting my local library to see if they have a copy. It's funny bc going by your observations of her book, brought back to my mind scripture that the apostle Paul wrote in Phillippians 4:11-13! I too, as the majority of other people everywhere have experienced inconvenience. For instance like the hurricanes that come through and destroy people's homes, their way of making a living, ....it can simply be devastating. But it is something that has to be dealt with. If you let bad things or bad situations take you over, they will. I personally find my comfort and my Peace in Christ my Savior. I have found that He is faithful, in every situation. Looking forward to hearing about your new new beginning at your new place. I think your little tiny house will improve the space anywhere you have it placed!! Take care Adelina and Sophie 🥰
@@myBIGtinyhouselifeAdelina, this is totally off the subject, but do you have any references that you would recommend concerning soy and soy products. I am very apprehensive to even try soy products. I just wondered if you could point me to some research or videos that you might recommend..?
I went back and looked at your first videos. I. Didn’t think it was the same home. You did a tour and it’s beautiful. You can’t tell that with the new videos. I pray you have had good luck with your move. Prayers
I’ll have to read that book. I and my 2 girlfriends , the 3 widowed musketeers, went to see a show and I accidentally left my car lights on, so I jumped it with my cables that I keep in my trunk, with her car. They keep telling how impressed they were. I told them that we can almost do everything that a man can do…and most of the time even more. I really enjoy watching your journey with you, it’s quite inspiring!!❤
Enjoyed this video. I guess l have a different take on happiness. I have never thought it was something to seek on a regular basis, but that happiness is for special occasions like the highlights of your life. My goal is contentment, which comes from gratitude for what you have and whatever your situation is. Life will always present challenges, obstacles, and opportunities and it helps to be grateful when dealing with it all. I am grateful for a roof over my head, food on the table, clothing on my back and some very good people in my life. Anything else is a plus. Take good care of yourself and feel better soon. ❤
Interesting question, is it enough and how much is enough? We are very lucky to live in a country where most have plenty but sadly these same folk often feel they are doing without.. I just put a hold on Big Tiny, at the library, looking forward to reading it. Feel better.
The topic was right on. Good reminder for all; even those who are not or will not be going tiny. You might want to remind Sophie that it is rude to take her bath when you are filming. Notice how she stopped as you were finishing up the video....😊
First I want to say I hope you’re over your cold soon and quickly filled with renewed energy. 🤧 Second…Bingo, did this ever resonate with me! A big part of my reason for going full time van life in a weeks time, is because of how alive it makes me feel. What you just shared made me realize that the ‘aliveness’, in part, is due to the little inconveniences, discomforts and need to deal with daily situations, such as finding a place to sleep. Since being home from my 4 1/2 month road trip I have become comfortably numb and I want and need to take back my life. Thanks! ❤️
:) Hope you fell better soon! Yes, it has been a not so Spring for sure :( Maybe an adapter hose and fitting can be had to use regular 20 lb Propane tanks as an alternative and backup for your furnace and stove? I know some Vanners use that as a means of heating and cooking.... just a thought. ALL the BEST and great share! I would have to say, even in Canada and growing up in Vancouver, early days were less than 85% at times sadly, but better for it now :) Take care and Cheers! :)
Being happy where you are and with what you have is a good place to be, tiny or not. I have been a "make do" person for most of my life and have never suffered too awfully for it. I appreciate your take on things and will investigate the book. It sounds interesting. Take care of yourself and feel better.
Each time I watch your videos you say something that hits close to home. As you know I made a big change in my life last year and downsized into a more sustainable home and I was very happy. Due to unforseen circumstances I now have to move as well again and am in an uncomfortable situation. Like you I am not sure where I will end up but I feel alive knowing there is something new to look forward to. Life is strange at times. Wishing you all the best in your new endeavor.
Adelina, I love this video so much. Thank you for talking about this subject. I have at times in my life chose the challenging road, intentionally, because I was in a comfortable place in my life, and I knew that I would stagnate in my potential as a person if I stayed where, doing what I was doing. I recognize it is a privilege to be in that position. But I see so many people I love who choose to stay in their comfort zone for far too long, instead of following their passions. And sometimes, following your passions can lead to a lot of turmoil and hardship and stress. But it is worth it to grow as a person, get to know yourself and your limits better, to see what you're capable of, and just to take the risk because you'll never know if that new path could make you happier if you never try. But sometimes, as you said, those challenges are not chosen deliberately - they present themselves to you. You are an inspiration to so many people who watch you and how you embrace life's challenges with grace and humility.
Hope you are feeling better soon, Adelina. It’s wet and chilly in Ontario, too, after a week of sunshine and temperatures reaching 28 Celsius. Summer can’t be far off now.
I completely understand….In the past I’ve lived a paycheck to paycheck existence….even though those days have passed….(at least for now -never say never)… I never forget how fortunate I am today…to have a home to call my own, able to pay all of my bills with extra to spare…I still live as though I’m broke… food is never wasted…lights are off except where I need to see…oil heat is always down low… I primarily use wood to heat my home…lugging the wood in every day keeps me aware how cold I would be without it. BTW I just went to see if that book was available on audible AND to my surprise it is included in my Audible membership! So it’s probably free if anyone is interested and has Audible. Stress will definitely lower your immune system! Add some honey, thyme and marjoram to that tea…they are great healers for a cold. Hope you feel better. BIG HUGS!
Thanks!! great communications. I"ve just requested Dee William's book from my local library. I hadn't heard of her before, here in Aotearoa/New Zealand
Thank you for letting us visit with you today. I also read that book a long time ago. If you haven't heard of Neti Pot check it out. It has worked wonders for me. Good to have on hand for any sinus situations. Don't fall for the expensive electric one.
So sorry you aren’t feeling well. I haven’t either for almost 2 weeks and mine is a sinus infection. Drink lots of tea and rest. Sophie was having a nice bath - she’s such a doll baby. Stress will get the best of you. There is a hill on the other side of ‘this valley. I tell myself that everyday.
I wish you a very speedy recovery. It's also about being complacent, forgetting why we have chosen this path. I know that im guilty of this. I do have a bricks snd sticks home (rented) that I'm now having to share with my 37 year old daughter and her two children 5 and 9. As much as I love them I'm beginning to tear my hair out. Thankfully 3 years ago I bought a travel trailer. This is now permanently parked at a site and oh my goodness it's become my sanctuary. It's 20ft long by 8ft wide and I love it apart from it's height inside which is about 6ft and I'm almost 5.10. I hope your move goes smoothly. Hugs 💕
Adelina, you always seem to offer a great message, no matter what goes on in your world. We’re in the middle of our tiny build and have spent the last few months in a determined hunt for a different location to site our home, which has been stressful in its own right. We still have our original site secured but had a big change of heart as to location so we’ve put great effort into a major change of course. Think we’re in the final phase of locking in a new site, but must still wait a bit. We thought we’d taken the right step of finding a location before taking the build plunge (still feel that was best) but with a second big picture review, we had a change of heart. So our advice to anyone at the beginning of this type of life change is still to find a location first, then begin your build. We’re comfortable we did it right up front, but life is always full of change, so stay open minded. Thank you, Adelina, your message is right on target for us. You’re a gem. Stay happy, hug Sophie for us❤️
Loved this video Adelina! You are so right - we are so comfortable (in Canada especially). I too have appreciated some discomfort and am living it again as I get accustomed to living and working in a remote northern Ontario reserve. Hope you feel better soon and that your perfect spot is within your grasp. Sending lots of love and healing vibes ❤️🥰🙏😻
Ooh, I like this video. Hits home with something I was talking about with a musician buddy of mine the other day as we strummed, sang and sipped a beer or three. 😊
Great discussion that will keep me thinking through the week. Thanks! I would say my goal is not so much to "feel alive," but to live out purpose in being alive. I don't know that I have to "feel alive" to live out my purpose, but definitely having some discomfort does make me more aware of what I have to be thankful for--what we need to be alive (sufficient warmth, food, water, sleep, health, etc.) In many cases, a little discomfort may be requisite to our purposes. Certainly it makes us stronger, more resilient, and more empathetic humans. P.S. Great call on dealing without propane for a short time, but I appreciate that it comes at some inconvenience and discomfort. Glad you have warm clothes and space heaters!
Sorry that you are ill Adelina! Thank you for sharing this book; I look forward to reading it. Electricity costs are so high and my rented cottage only has electric heat so I turn my wall heater off at night so it is often mid-50’s F in the morning (about what you have been experiencing). Much worse was losing power two years in a row in November-December due to wind or snow storms. First time was 12 hours, second time was 2 days! Temp in the cottage dropped to 46 degrees! It gave me insight into wanting a small wood burner stove and some solar panels when I finally get a tiny home.
Thank you Adelina, for another great video. You always inspire me with your thoughts on life. I love your attitude and I know things will be start to turn around for you. I sure hope you feel better soon. Lots of fluids and rest. (I'm and RN) best thing you can do when you have a cold.
You are totally right. Some times you get so comfortable in life that you go into autopilot. So the universe has to shake things up. Like that guy who complained about your tiny house. Or having a medical problem. I think sometimes it is kinda fun, to use your brain to solve a problem. I don't know what is in your kitchen. But you probably have enough things to cook with. At some point,if haven't already need to make a list of things to do. Now you don't have to put disconnect the propane on the list. Have a good week.💜 Take care of yourself.🤢💕
Thank you, Adelina. Thank you for a great book recommendation & for simply being you. So funny though; I would be happy to have a little less discomfort in my daily life. In any case, I count my blessings & am grateful for people like you in my life. I try to laugh each day but honor myself still if I can only cry. Already added the book to my wishlist. Love you so much. Hope you feel better soon. #SendingHealing #SendingStrength ~Mare NH USA 🌀🌟💙📚
Understanding what you're saying and where you're coming from... sadly I would not recommend this book to the family members I do have who live in Nigeria who are very uncomfortable in their circumstances and a lot of people that I know in America who still are uncomfortable due to poverty, so it depends on the person you are and the lifestyle that you have.🖤
Lots of changes in your life right now but you can handle it just like all us women do....we just do. take care of yourself first and everything else will fall into place...hugs
Hello Adelina, you got me worried with your "no propane for keeping the house warm" story ! We don't realize the Need to keep the house above 21°C because Resources Canada encourages us to lower the temperature in our homes to save on energy & heating costs, but at 20°C, your body starts to Lose heat & to Fight for survival since it needs to keep its vital internal temperature at 37.5, the optimal temperature to keep the organs functioning well & the blood vessels open & to avoid organ deterioration (I read all of this on government websites). If you start to shiver, it may be an indication that your body is going into hypothermia, even in mild cool temperature, and that is a dangerous problem. Staying in prolonged cool temperature also stresses your body & thus your immune system, making it more difficult to defend itself from viruses & putting you at risk of catching an infection of the lungs. I understand your decision of not filling up the propane tank (boo to that gaz company for not delivering the amount you needed even when you explained that you are moving. Businesses like them don't deserve our support !), But please be Kind to yourself & use those space heaters ! Take care 😘
Hi. I've never kept my home that warm. Even living through Alberta winters 18 or 19 was plenty comfortable enough. And I've always turned it down to 15 at night. It's been fine. Just needed my space heater a bit in the mornings is all. Thanks. 😊
Yes yes yes! Thank you for sharing. Enough is something our race in capitalist countries need to learn. Wim Hof talks about how our bodies need discomfort to function properly.
So sorry you are not feeling well! Stress will attack your immune system quickly … I have to make sure I take vitamins for my immune system daily. I have allergies and that seems to help me more than anything. Get well soon! 🌈🙏🏻🙏🏻❤️🇺🇸🇺🇸
Do a Covid test to be on the safe side. I thought I had a head cold, and it turns out that all of us have Covid. Whee! (Feeling much better now, though tired.)
I've got one for when I'm curled up on the sofa. I find that I like the house to be chilly at night. I sleep so well under the duvet. It's the morning that's a little chilly but nothing major. I actually miss the oven the most. Not having propane means I can't bake. And I love to bake ☺️.
I like your videos, but just to correct you, developing countries also have all the comfort at their disposal. And we are not deprived of any normal material comfort ss that of developed world
@@myBIGtinyhouselife hey I know. Sometimes we are not nearly as aware, which is ok. The point to put forward the comment was just to let you know. Grab that cosy quilt and cuddle up with your kitty.🐈🤗🫂
Thanks Sue. You too ☺️
Hello there Adelina!
Thanks ☺️
@@myBIGtinyhouselifeAdelina, this is totally off the subject, but do you have any references that you would recommend concerning soy and soy products. I am very apprehensive to even try soy products. I just wondered if you could point me to some research or videos that you might recommend..?

I went back and looked at your first videos. I. Didn’t think it was the same home. You did a tour and it’s beautiful. You can’t tell that with the new videos. I pray you have had good luck with your move. Prayers
Thanks. ☺️
Hi i hope you are doing well, i just wanted to say that i love your videos you are a big inspiration.
Thanks! ☺️.
Absolutely we can! You go girlfriend ❤️☺️.
I really like your view of things ☺️❤️
Interesting question, is it enough and how much is enough?
We are very lucky to live in a country where most have plenty but sadly these same folk often feel they are doing without..
I just put a hold on Big Tiny, at the library, looking forward to reading it.
Feel better.
I hope you like it as much as I do! 😊
The topic was right on. Good reminder for all; even those who are not or will not be going tiny.
You might want to remind Sophie that it is rude to take her bath when you are filming. Notice how she stopped as you were finishing up the video....😊
LOL I didn't even notice her doing it 😁.
Thanks! ❤️
Your an inspiration to me. I know you'll handle it all with that same grace. ☺️
@@myBIGtinyhouselife awww, thanks Adelina! ☺️
Feel better!❤❤❤
Thanks.
Thanks Marty. Take care. 😊
Thank you for reminding me about the important things in life, love you video

Get well soon X
Thanks 😊
Being happy where you are and with what you have is a good place to be, tiny or not. I have been a "make do" person for most of my life and have never suffered too awfully for it. I appreciate your take on things and will investigate the book. It sounds interesting. Take care of yourself and feel better.
Thanks ☺️
feel better soon, i am also dealing with allergies so i understand that plugged up feeling ... HUGS from the OK Valley.

Good luck to you as well Brigitte.
Thank you Stace. You've done a beautiful job of handling life's challenges. It's a process and each one is a lesson we are meant to learn. ❤️
Hope you are feeling better soon, Adelina. It’s wet and chilly in Ontario, too, after a week of sunshine and temperatures reaching 28 Celsius. Summer can’t be far off now.
I hope so! 😁.
It makes sense. I'm experiencing such things. Feel better. 🧚
Thanks 😁
Thank you for the book recommendation. 🙋♀️🥰
You're welcome ☺️.
Thanks Adelina... this helped right away because it is good to know that you don’t need 100% happiness to be happy! Love and hugs my friend❤️😊
Thanks. You you too 😊.
Thank you! I have ordered the book.
I hope you enjoy it. 😊
BIG HUGS!
That's great that it's on Audible ☺️
Thank you for a very meaningful video.

Thanks!! great communications.

Prayers for healing. And praying you find a great solution for your home location.

Absolutely! ❤️😁
Hugs 💕
I'm glad you have a place to escape to☺️❤️
Adelina, you always seem to offer a great message, no matter what goes on in your world. Stay happy, hug Sophie for us❤️
Thank you Penny. Good luck on your Tiny adventure 😁❤️.
Stash also has a lemon ginger that is really nice. Yum ❤

I have that book love it.
Hope you feel better soon.
Thanks. I already do.
I like that. "To live out purpose in being alive" ❤️.
@@myBIGtinyhouselife Thanks for exchanging thoughts! 🙂 Have a great week!

Yikes 🥶.
Sounds like an interesting book! I'll have to check it out. I hope you feel better soon! Have a good week.
Thanks. You too.
Thank you! I will add this to my list for the library. I hope you are feeling better soon.

In order to feel alive you have to feel some discomfort.
Thank you for sharing this vlog, extremely thought provoking 💜
You're welcome ☺️.
Thanks. Yes I've got lots of other ways to feed myself 😊.
#SendingHealing

Understanding what you're saying and where you're coming from... sadly I would not recommend this book to the family members I do have who live in Nigeria who are very uncomfortable in their circumstances and a lot of people that I know in America who still are uncomfortable due to poverty, so it depends on the person you are and the lifestyle that you have.🖤
Yes. I do mention in the video that this doesn't apply to people who are struggling just to get by and have enough to eat and a safe place to live.
Lots of changes in your life right now but you can handle it just like all us women do....we just do. take care of yourself first and everything else will fall into place...hugs

Feel better soon Adelina 🌼🌻🌼 and did you do the video about the possible good news about a new parking space?
Not yet. Waiting on a couple of things to fall into place first. Stay tuned.
Thanks. 😊
You may enjoy a book called The Comfort Crisis by Micheal Easter 😊
I'll check it out ☺️
Yes yes yes! Thank you for sharing. Enough is something our race in capitalist countries need to learn. Wim Hof talks about how our bodies need discomfort to function properly.
😁❤️
The goal for me is to have peace.
That is my goal as well 🙏🏼😊
So sorry you are not feeling well! Stress will attack your immune system quickly … I have to make sure I take vitamins for my immune system daily. I have allergies and that seems to help me more than anything.
Get well soon! 🌈🙏🏻🙏🏻❤️🇺🇸🇺🇸
Thanks. 😊

Going to look for that book now hat I heard YOUR summary of it. I’m on a tiny home roll. Oops was that a rabbit 🐇 hole!
😁
Why not use an electric blanket? It doesn’t use much electricity. I’ve been using one for many years.
I've got one for when I'm curled up on the sofa. I find that I like the house to be chilly at night. I sleep so well under the duvet. It's the morning that's a little chilly but nothing major. I actually miss the oven the most. Not having propane means I can't bake. And I love to bake ☺️.
