Shot in the Canadian Museum of Nature in Ottawa, nature is frozen in time, enclosed behind protective glass and two solitary characters exist in their work and in isolation from each other, until a beautiful moment. “For me this has always been a song sung from someone held apart - convalescing maybe, notes Tim “from someone dreaming of being alive and close to love and something important.”
“Tim and I both grew up in Newfoundland,” says director Jordan Canning. “As teenagers we spent summer nights skipping stones on middle cove beach, driving up to Southside Hills to explore the cliffs, and playing spotlight in the woods, our flashlight beams scanning the trees for our friends. Nature was always within easy reach. Years later, we both find ourselves living in Toronto. Here, you can go days without stepping foot on a patch of grass. Everywhere you look there is concrete and steel and plastic and people. And when you look away it is usually to stare down at a phone or computer screen”

Saw tim play this song in corner brook 4 years ago. Broke my heart. I wept like a baby in the audience... I still do from time to time...
This will be my wedding song. And my wife and I will both do a coorographed dance to the entire song. This song is perfect.

Tim is the best male singer in this generation.
Video triggers a Kaleidoscope of memories in my mind. Each flashing, twisting and reflecting off each other. Not fully graspable. No exact place or date, but so many along the way. Some real, some imagined, some dreamed, some likely part of a personal folklore my mind has created around the past when midnight meant it was time to go out and not come in.
I’ve always been a touch too introspective/sensitive/soft, but somehow becoming a sentimental freak in my middle age. Couple more years and I’ll be perpetually weeping over the beauty, pain and impermanence of our lot in life.
Sometimes a video and song like this on the right day and place, instantly mean all of the above to me. Thanks Tim Baker and sorry (but great to see) your two shows are sold out in Halifax.
I love everything about this song. It remind me my love before my husband. It was great love but he was from Canada and I am from Poland and it killed us. Still love this lonely man and wanna dance with him. ;)
Fantastic. Hey Rosetta has had such an impact on my life.. a soundtrack of sorts...it has played in the back ground as I met my beautiful wife, married and had two children... the news of hey Rosetta's breakup hit so hard... now, Tim you have given us so much joy with the impending release of your solo album. Please keep it up we are all counting on you... your music inspires and fulfills!
Yessss. Their music has been the soundtrack of mine as well. Less eventful than yours but nonetheless. Yer Fall was my alarm my freshman year in college. Whenever I hear it I think about dark mornings on the Jersey shore.

Oh man this song got to me instantly! Terry Seguin played it on the local CBC morning show in Fredericton today and I downloaded it on imusic and listened to it all day. I was convinced it was a slowed down version of an old song because it’s so good it gives you that nostalgic feeling that you already know it. This song is like a warm bowl of soup on a cold day. Just. So. Good. So vulnerable and so beautiful. Bravo!
In October, 2014 several German newspapers ran an article with three album reviews that changed my musical taste forever. One of the bands recommended was, ahem, Hey Rosetta. HR music was basically the soundtrack of my life for months to come. So it was somehow fitting that your gig with Nico Paulo in Berlin was my last concert before the pandemic, including this beauty of a song. I am glad that you have resumed writing and performing excellent music and would really love to see you again live - solo or with band.
