You were honestly the main reason i started Godot since your tutorials always felt more seemless but quick compared to other channels, so here's to an amazing year for ya lukky, definitely made an impact

This is the perfect example of luck meets opportunity. People can say you got lucky. But you wouldn't have be lucky if you weren't already putting in the work. So feel proud of yourself, you deserve it. 🤙

I think the best way to get your audience around watching devlogs would be kind of like how dani does it where he doesnt even call them devlogs and the video has a heavy use of jokes memes etc.

You are probably one of the main reasons if why i fell in love with godot, if it wasnt to your guides i would've still struggled with basic programming, but now I'm able to do mostly anything that i want in any language, and the big part of it is because of you, i remember asking you how to limit 3d camera rotation when you were struming how you were making diablo(?) clone 😂, and now im able to freely make games on ny own without guides, thank you for everything you are doing for the community and for what you have made for me personally, i may not need your guides at this point, but i will still come back to your channel and remember good ol' days. Happy new year, and will see you next year!

Found your FPS controller tutorial and I am hooked on your channel. I too am a web developer with some Unity experience but never really made a game and decided to check out Godot recently with the Unity drama that happened. I moved to NL almost 2 years ago now and since then I've had much better work/life balance and your channel has motivated me to get out there and make some games instead of just experimenting. Thanks a lot for that

I just want to say, about your comment that part 2's and 3's don't do particularly well.
Sequels and series, even if they don't get view counts, they are incredibly valuable to aspiring game devs. Your first 3D movement tutorial was the most concise and well structured tutorial I have seen and I was really needing that. I was starting to get frustrated with the other tutorials I had seen and yours was a breath of fresh air. Still, it felt a little incomplete and I was unsure where to go next to learn more about 3D movement controls.
And so as I finished that video and looked at your channel seeing a part 2, I felt extremely inspired and glad that there are 3 parts. I want deeper knowledge on the subject, and I appreciate you providing it. That helps magnitudes for making me a now regular customer of your videos.
The more surface level videos will always do better in viewership, but I feel that content that goes a little deeper from time to time will help retain your core audience who is always looking to learn more. It's not always the best, but I hope you still find the time every now and then to make a short series on something that you are really skilled at.
As for the imposter syndrome thing you were talking about, I think it is really dope that you are becoming a huge expert in Godot specifically. I think that will be invaluable down the line. Once you do get around to making full games, I think they will be much better for it. Godot is really popping off and its only gonna get more popular so I think you are setting yourself up for success here.
Anyways, thanks for the content. GL in 2024.

Congratulations and happy new year. It's thanks to your FPS controller that I got started on game dev, I added on it by trying to add wall running and it made learn how to implement a feature by breaking it down.
Here's my data point as a *viewer* and not a content creator.
regarding Game dev videos, I usually find myself watching milestone videos (IE. 'I've added x' rather than 'Devlog #33') more consistently unless I'm personally invested in the project. it also builds up on your own finding that part 2 onward are harder to get people to watch.

I started my game dev journey about a week ago.
You single handily cleared up the 2D Nodes for me in one bite sized sitting and from just that I have so many more ideas thanks to you!
Your shorter format absolutely works for me, I think a series may work better than these 1 hour PLUS videos.
I can't wait to see what you do for us next! :) Cheers to the New Years!

I think my most successful video which Godot Advanced-Movement-Template went viral because it was there when there wasn't a lot of Third Person Controller videos.

Every programming language and game engine has its own set of helpful patterns and anti patterns. I would love to get your thoughts on how to best use the built in features and what anti patterns you have found so far. Another subject that I think needs more coverage is save and load systems.

I think you entered the Godot tutorials space at the right time. Something i would like to start myself as well, even though i feel like i might have missed the right time. The number channels proposing Godot tutorials spiked over the last 3 months, mainly because of Unity bad moves.
So... Big kudos to you! I think your videos have a very good rithm and are very informative.

I have a similar issue. Start game dev with the Lib GDX framework years ago making mobile games. Decided it wasnt for me switch to Unity and tipped my toe in Unreal(the water was too hot😅) then found love with Godot. This was 4 years ago now. Trying to learn all its ins and out and decided to rebrand my channel(that was just gaming/irl stuff) into godot tutorials. Problem is i still havent finish a single passion project with it as anything i learn i rather teach ended up making plugins public that were originally intended for personal projects and also starting other side projects just for fun and videos. Only projects Ive really finished were for game jam where theres actually a defined time limit. So for 2024 im planning to double down on my own projects and reducing my frequent uploads to once or twice a month which might be detrimental to my channel but well see.

I just want to say that documenting your own game on here would be great - as long as it’s not too much too often. Like, break down a new feature you’re proud of, or show some lessons learned every once in a while. That would fit in neatly with your tutorial content and I’d certainly be interested at least :)
Anyway, love your content. Lekker gewerkt, pik! En gelukkig nieuwjaar!
